He's full name is John Dennis Campoverde Ramírez and he was born on the 27.10.1997. If I understand correctly he will come to us in January. Don't know what position he plays or who he resembles in style :)

Another 14 year old?

Anybody else not loving the whole ''taking kids away from their homes and halfway across the world thing''?

If he is good and plays for us, why not?

I mean morally, like you've just taken a kid away from his freinds and family etc, what if he doesn't make it, pretty much robbed him of growing up at home.

No?

the kid and his family have to agree to the move, he isn't being kidnapped

and usually the parents or whatever move too, and they get a better living environment and a larger income

I know there's permission involved

I dunno, just seems kinda weird, like, academies at that age should just be local.

I think the kid would be pushing for it more then anyone else. these guys are semi pro atheletes at this yound age, and have been working at it for countless years already. its a dream come true for them. the last thing they would be thinking about is next saturdays party down the road at a frenz place.

Actually I see it as a huge opportunity for the kid and his family (not only economically of course, anyone would pay to have an experience like this),considering that he was discovered thanks to Inter Campus (which I guess you know what kind of organization is),it's a nice thing for me.

Does anyone know what the story with him is?

I cant see him in any of the youth teams - either we are waiting until he's 18 to sign him, or he's been released already.

"John Campoverde was first spotted by milan in a camp they set up in cuenca. Afterwards he was snatched by Inter and lived in Interello for about 2 years. He mentions that the facilities are very good: warm beds, food and seven football pitches. The last tournament he played was Giovannissimi Nazionali of course, and he always wore the number 10 while he was at inter. In his last tournament, his team finished 5th, Although john put up good performances and scored 9 goals in 12 appearances.

Ultimately, he had to leave Italy, although Inter wanted to keep him, this time family wellfare was the winner."

So he pretty much came back to ecuador because his family just couldnt keep up with how expensive shit was in Italy. sad really :(

I really hope to see him back in europe sometime later in his career......

we evidently didnt believe in him much, because presumably we were paying his family some subsistence. Or else for all the kids, people like Justice Opoku etc, it would be impossible to keep up with costs.

As far as I could see, he's gone back to really small clubs at home, I cant find any real note of him anywh

In that same article his mom mentioned that the club payed for the house but everything else was on them.

As for where he is now, he is under contract for deportivo cuenca, a reasonably big club here, but its rumoured he has offers from mexican teams
