I`m on 1st page!!!!!! :D TBFH, it's not fair that Universe is sleeping while anybody else here could have CORECCTLY opened this thread. Should be invalid, guess there WERE some rules on FIF. INTER as a club means truth, honour, fairness and gentlemen. What does this have to do with Uni's action? Or moderators swallowing it?

...anyway, I don't intend to ruin the celebrations as these images are simply FANTASTIC :proud:

Appiano: Inter welcomes Antonio Cassano

APPIANO GENTILE - Today is the first day of Antonio Cassano's adventure at Inter. This morning the striker arrived at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti where Andrea Stramaccioni and captain Javier Zanetti were waiting to welcome him.

Stramaccioni on Cassano.

Before the derby I was talking to Nesta, and from the tunnel I heard a voice: "STRAMA! STRAMA!"
I turn my head it was Cassano.
Cassano: "Hey strama, well done!" (I guess relating to the upgrade head coach position he got)
Strama: "yeah Cassano it's a difficult situation".
Cassano:"what the fuck do you care, being here is great! You know, in football when you do well the people talk, the footballers talk. Wes who lives 2 floors down from me, said "this guy is a phenomenon".
Strama: Well maybe exaggerated a little bit...
Cassano: Hey, wes doesn't even listen to his parents!

Benvenuto!

Great signing for Inter. With him, Sneijder, Palacio behind Milito, you should score lot more goals than last season. Guarin and anyother CM/DM to support these players.

Coutinho can chip in nicely playing either Sneijder role or Cassano's. Still need back up for Milito though. Team is looking lot lot better than last season.

Having the hobby to open a thread or not is one thing , obeying the rules is another thing.

I see you've opened a inter-fiorentina thread. Did you open it to show off ?? I don't think so .
Well its the same thing with this . If x or y wants to open a player thread he should have the possibility to do so...

BTW. Cassano i wish you all the best with these colours :P

Yeah, although Palacio will be the vice-Milito (I just love that term) so we won't get another forward anymore. If Milito is not available Strama might change the system in a way that we won't have a pure center forward but Palacio as "false nine" .

The inter-fiorentina thread was one time thing to see how it goes, but true i didnt open it to show off.

That would be awesome to watch if the team get used to it, like Roma did with Totti. I think it was Spalletti who made that change around 2006, it was great to watch.

Can Palacio play false nine role? I have seen him playing mostly from wide areas and he was very good.

Yes, Palacio played as CF for Genoa quite a few times and was good at it. We can also play Cassano as false nine, if Strama really wants that. I'm not sure if we need another forward now, if we do at all then it should be someone like Cruz who won't ask for much but has a deadly impact off the bench.

Cruz was an epic sub player, but everytime he started a game he wasnt that good, always remember when things didnt go well, he comes in the last 30 min or so and changes the game by scoring important goals, But i guess we have the players now, i believe that Longo will be loan and Livaja will stay, and with that we have enough player, cassano and palacio will cover the spot, as we do have Coutinho who will be able to serve as AMR/L.

We dont need attackers we only need Alvaro from porto do make it complete this season, and i believe when Maicon and JC are sold we will get one more player at the Winter transfer, for now we will be able compete all fronts

Inter Channel, Cassano: "Inter, the best"
Wednesday, 22 August 2012 13:50

APPIANO GENTILE - "Finally, after what seems like an eternity, I've signed for the club I've always supported! A big hello to the fans, who are Interisti, just like me!" Antonio Cassano is all smiles as he speaks to Inter Channel for the first time as a Nerazzurri player. A new adventure is just beginning for him, in the black and blue shirt that he's long dreamed of wearing.

"This is a very important time for me, because when you support a team and then you end up signing for them, it means you've reached the top."

Antonio then revealed his shirt number saying, "Now I'm just focused on performing well right from the start against Pescara. I'm going to wear the 99 shirt, it's a number which means a lot to me. I said to technical director Branca and sporting director Ausilio that if possible I'd like the 99 shirt, and they told me it was no problem."

Cassano: Nothing better than Inter

http://football-italia.net/sites/default/files/imagecache/main_photo/%5Btype%5D/%5Bnid%5D/cassano-laugh-490ai_1.jpg

By Football Italia staff

Antonio Cassano says he’s realised a dream after completing a move to Inter – the team of his heart.

The Italian has today been confirmed as a Nerazzurri player after a swap deal with Giampaolo Pazzini was agreed with Milan.

“After an eternity, I have arrived at the club which I support,” Cassano, who was a known Beneamata supporter as a boy, told Inter Channel.

“It’s important for me. It doesn’t get better than joining the club which you are a fan of. I have re-found my smile.”

Cassano has moved to the other side of San Siro after he asked Milan to sell him after just 18 months at the Meazza.

“The most important thing for me now is to get into the best shape, starting with the game at Pescara,” he noted.

The former Bari, Roma, Real Madrid and Sampdoria player also confirmed which jersey he’ll have on his back this term.

“I’ll wear the No 99 shirt,” he added. “I told the club that the number means a lot to me.”

Cassano had the same squad number at Sampdoria and Milan.

Thats what happens when you are filled with pessimism and fuck branca's all the summer. Now the optimism goes sky high and you say things like that.

I hope that you are aware that Cassano is not a better man now that he is at Inter and for sure he will do some crazy shit in here too. The deal was great but don't overreact so much.

What we've lacked under Gasperini, Benitez and Raineri, and only saw glimpses of under Leonardo, is players who play with enthusiasm. Even though Strama has managed to motivate certain players, you can't solely depend on your coach to enthuse the players - usually the captain assists in this matter, but Zanetti is too humble to fill such a role.

We've seemingly lacked a Matrix in the locker room since he left us, but with Cassano we have Matrix' craziness AND a huge improvement in the offensive department.

I can't really articulate how great I feel about this transfer.. but I feel great about this transfer!

Cassano arrival would not threaten Coutinho, because there is no one else on the bench except Coutinho and vice versa if Coutinho starts, Cassano will be the first and only to pick on bench.

come on we gotta be serious we can only rotate so much. we got 5 attacking midfielders cou, alva, sneijder, palacio, cassano. stramaccioni will mostly play a 4 3 2 1. yes there's injuries, a lot of games, but players get pissed off when they dont start games.

Palacio and Cassano can rotate with Milito as well.

Cassano, Coutinho, Alvarez and Sneijder can rotate for the 2 AM.

Alvarez can rotate with Guarin as well tbh.

I don't see a problem.. have it 4321 or 4231 or 433.. there will be places for Coutinho to play. He might not start every game, but he will get his chances and I see Stramaccioni has his trusts on the kid.

Fact is: This guy has no class - and I am not talking about his abilities on the pitch.

When he was out for 5, 6 month he praised Galliani, Berlusconi, whole Milan that wanted to keep him. Then, when he was fit again, he criticized his team in public and talked about leaving.

I am hating Milan but this is just disrespectful. If he wanted to leave: Okay! But you don't have to talk on such a disrespectful way about this and your team in public.

Before I'm cheering for him he has to convince on the pitch and show that he is serious about his love for Inter by giving all he has.

I could be wrong but I don't remember he has any problems at Bilan. The only problem is because he can't trust the management anymore since they sold Ibra and Silva, alongside some other first XI players. How would you play for a team that doesn't even aim to win or at least showing they want to win?

Simple:

He said himself that he will consider to leave if Ibra and Silva were sold. Berlusconi had lots of debts for his Bunga Bunga party. I don't see it as Cassano's problem. It is a fact that Ibra and Silva were probably 75-80% of the Bilan soul. Yes they needed money and they had to sell players, but they shouldn't sell both. We sold one of our main stars as well last year ago. But, we didn't sell Sneijder and Eto'o. I'm pretty sure that if we had sold Sneijder and Eto'o together.. many of our players wouldn't want to stay. Now, that Cassano has left, I read somewhere yesterday that Mexes and Boateng are considering to leave as well.. Blame Cassano?

I'd say this much keep your mouth shut show us what you can do for the team, i believe nothing he says, comments like below just make me wonder why we purchased him i still believe he will be another flop like pazzo good from start then fades away durning the season.
I will give him the benefit of the doubt till he fucks up!

ROME - " After an eternity I arrived in the team for which I support(CAN WE BELIEVE THIS SHIT TALK). " Cassano speaks in his first day as Inter through 'Inter Channel': "Finally. I returned the smile and I hope to be already in Pescara." Words of Bari also stand out on the club's official website : "Now the thought is to start to do well quickly, already from Pescara. My jersey number is 99, at an affective level are linked to this number. I told Branca and ds Aid that if it were possible I would have chosen the 99 and they told me that there was no problem. "

The fact that he talked bs about Milan says a lot about him, he don't like that shitty team, and if he praised them in first place when they signed him it's because he was mad at us by not getting him, i understand him because i would have done exactly the same.
We need more Italian players who actually care for this team.

I respect bergpavian's opinion on this and I would like to say that those kind of incidents tick me off as well. However, I'm quite excited at the prospect of having a Sneijder - Cassano combo in this team. But if he doesn't truly put in the effort for this team in the end, I will burn him like a forest fire.

the whole "milan looked after him" when he had the heart problem confuses me a bit

like is it a realistic alternative that they'd tell him to gtfo? no club would do that. i don't think a club deserves huge praise for that, it should be standard

if chivu wanted to leave after we helped him with his head injury i wouldn't have said he acted badly. if they want to go then they want to go. it's not "milan helped me with my heart problem now i can screw them over for the hell of it"... he wanted to go for genuine reasons

Quote me when I've said a word about Branca the last ten years. QUOTE ME!!

I'd disagree with this. I think him being at the club he LOVED as a boy will make him a better player. Crazy shit aside he's gonna want to prove to the fans how much he loves this club and go above and beyond for it, because he used to be one of us looking in bleeding the colors of this club. Now he gets to wear them finally I'd say he's probably going to be energized to play here.

Anyways welcome Cassano :D Happy to have you here and excited about what you may accomplish with us.

“THE SHIRT OF MY DREAMS.”

“I have always supported Inter. I want to do well here already starting this Sunday.”
Cassano chooses the number 99, jokes with Nagatomo, Moratti arrives to greet him.
He is on the UEFA list: will be there in the return leg against Vaslui.

Appiano Gentile – Antonio Cassano was not born in Ehime Prefecture and did not study in Tokyo. But yesterday morning he already seemed to be the best friend of Yuto Nagatomo. In his first training session as an Inter player, he made several jokes with the Japanese. It lasted around five to ten minutes but it was enough for Cassano to change the atmosphere of the team. Yesterday, he arrived at Appiano Gentile very early with a t-shirt of Cartman, a character on the cartoon series South Park. Completed his medical and went on the field with his new teammates in the gray training shirt. During a warm-up session, Antonio looked for Sneijder, embraced him and then went back in line to do some exercises. The game on Sunday at Pescara is not far away and Cassano wants to be ready. His physical condition seems to be in the good as well as his smiles. Then the moment between Cassano and Nagatomo arrived. “Go Yuto, pass the ball…” And again: “Yuto, I asked you a question and you did not understand.” Laughing as if they both have already known each other.

Vale Rossi and Matrix Three hours later, Cassano answered a few questions in an interview with Inter Channel and confirmed that his morale is high. “Finally, after an eternity, I have arrived at the club that I’ve always supported. To me, this is very important because this means that I have reached the top. My smiles are now back and I want to do well already in Pescara.” A few young fans at Appiano unanimously said: “This exchange is a great deal, he is better than Pazzini.” More famous Inter fans also charmed in the discussion. Valentino Rossi discussed his thoughts via Twitter: “I am very happy to see Cassano in black and blue.” A sentence written in response to a comment by Materazzi: “Welcome to Inter, my friend.” Matrix used the number 23 shirt to honor Michael Jordan, Cassano, instead, will have his beloved 99: “I have an emotional attachment to this number. I said to technical director Branca and sporting director Ausilio that if possible I’d like take it.”

The visit of Moratti When the team arrived at the airport, Cassano remained in Milan and this morning he will have a specialized training program to be ready for the game against Pescara on Sunday. On that day, Inter will not have the suspended Palacio and it is believed that Cassano will play at least 30 minutes in the first matchday of the new season. Inter have also added Cassano on the UEFA list instead of Samir Handanovic. It means that Cassano will debut at the San Siro on August 30 in the Europa League second leg against Vaslui. Yesterday, Massimo Moratti found the time to go to Appiano at 12:30 to have lunch with the team and the new signings: a welcome to Gargano and especially Cassano because he remains a special player not only in Italy. The official presentation will almost certainly be on Saturday at Appiano but a foreign bookmaker has already come up with a bet on him. Question: Who will score more this season between Cassano and Sneijder? In Italy, it is forbidden to bet but it can be done abroad. Perhaps Wes and Antonio will talk about it since they are neighbors. Both entering their building in which they live, Cassano will probably pretend to be angry: for that bookmaker, the favorite is Sneijder.

As for the question on whether or not Cassano has changed from being an enfant terrible (fuck, did I just write that?) or if he was disrespectful towards Milan, I can't judge on this either way.

All I will say is that footballers, and more accurately athletes in general, will say what they need to say in order to satisfy their needs in the short term. And a lot of times the stuff they say is just the dumbest shit out there. I don't doubt the fact that as a boy he supported Inter. But there are only a handful of people that have class in most aspects of life, both on and off the pitch. How many times did we read shit about Lucas and how signing for Inter would be a dream? Bullshit I tell you. We don't know Cassano personally. We only know what we know from what is reported, and what opinion writers state about him. We also don't know the full story or what the other half of the equation was that could have caused him to speak out about Berlusconi.

That said, I am crossing my fingers that his relationship with Strama keeps him in check while he is with us. I think he can be useful for us in any number of roles. Someone capable of taking some of the creative pressure off of Wes. I absolutely love this deal. Infuckingcredible!

23 Aug 12, 07:13
You don't get it. It's they way he left. He said by himself that Milan - and he also mentioned Berlusconi by his name - supported him during his break. And when he was fit again he talked in a very disrespectful way about his team and stated in public that he is thinking about leaving.

It's not about his wish to leave. And it's not about the fact he left. But the way he left ... no class.

No class? what class should he show? He is fucking 30 years old and it should be his prime, the next 2-3 years would be his last chance to win trophies. Now, he was part of a shit team that is probably worse than 2009/2010 Sampdoria. What do you expect? Expect him to stay and help the struggle for that club? He has to think about his career more than the club that doesn't really care about its players.

It is the way the board treated some of their players that brought them scudetto that pissed him off. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't ask to leave if the board strengthened the team instead of sinking their ship.

He praised the management for helping him during his break. He praised Galliani, he Berlusconi, he praised the whole club. One month later he criticized the same club IN PUBLIC and said that he's thinking about leaving.

I remember Galliani praysing him in public and saying that they aren't thinking about a replacement for him because all are sure that Cassano will come back. Don't know if I should believe the words of Galliani but that's the way you should act in public for the sake of your team and the player.

And when uncle Fester has more class than you ... :chan:

Do you even read what I am writing? :fffuuu:

I am not blaming him for leaving. I EVEN UNDERSTAND HIM THAT HE LEFT!

But what I not understand: He praised the club for helping him during his break. One month later he CRITICIZED THE SAME CLUB IN PUBLIC! That's the reason I say he has no style.

For you again:

Leaving = ok
Criticizing your team in public = not ok

For me that's like a player sitting on the bench and when the coach brings him he says: "I don't wanna play this position. Or that position."

And once again: Before I believe a single word of this "club of heart"-nonsense he has to proof it to me. He's a football player. It's natural that he says things like that when he arrives in a new club. "Nothing greater than Milan." That's what he said about the city rivel of his "club of heart" when he joined them.

God, everybody got crazy about Lucio - but when Cassano does the same it's all ok because the first played for Inter while the second is playing for Inter now. Some people here have really strange views of moral.

I don't care from where a player comes or where he goes. It's their job. But some people here acting like bitches when a player from Inter goes to Milan or Juve ("Joining Juve? I hope he breaks his legs!") but on the other hand they have no problem when a player from Milan comes to Inter. I think this is kinda sanctimonious.

Coco questions Milan over Cassano
By Football Italia staff

Francesco Coco is surprised by Milan’s decision to hand over cash as well as Antonio Cassano to Inter for Giampaolo Pazzini.

The two players are on the verge of officially swapping clubs, with Inter also set to be handed €7m as part of the deal.

“It would have been fairer without the money,” Coco, who left Milan for Inter in 2002, told Radio Mana Mana.

“Milan are the losers here because they have to put their hand in their pocket. It’s a swap deal which is totally in Inter’s favour.”

The move has been engineered by the fact that 30-year-old Cassano asked the Diavolo to sell him – just 18 months after his arrival from Sampdoria.

“Cassano has always been an Inter fan and his talent is not up for discussion,” the former left-back continued.

“Now he has the chance to fulfil a dream. However, Milan need Pazzini more than Inter need Cassano…”

I don't see the problem. It is not like Milan insisted on keeping Cassano. If they came out and publicly urged Cassano to stay, or even try to address his concerns it would be a different story. Its not like Arsenal begging RVP to stay and him insisting on leaving.

Cassano wasn't happy at Milan, whether it was the locker room attitude or the fact that they sold all their best players, so he asked to leave. Allegri wanted a goal scorer and all of those were expensive (Juve were asking for 18m for Matri), so Milan saw this as a chance to reduce the price of a striker who would be a definite starter as opposed to Cassano whose role could be filled by robinho or pato.

Milan took this deal because it was the deal they wanted, it wasn't forced on to them. If he had pulled a Modric or a Tevez then people could argue about it. The fact is that this move is the move all parties wanted. We might have gotten the better end of the deal, but Milan are happy with what they got too.

I say 8, but I can see him becoming La Grande if he puts his heart and soul out on the pitch. Being a major factor in a scudetto within the next few years would definitely place him in those ranks. He has the talent and love for Inter, it is all about his health and keeping his mind right. He is already a hero in some eyes.

I will go for a 9. Cassano is the archetypal late bloomer who has shown that after a very rocky start, he has matured both on and off the field. i think inter is getting him at his peak. the next two years will be his best. Here, he will finally fulfill his potential

Cassanno only said what like 99% of Milan supporters were thinking (well those that are actually capable of higher brain activity). Dafuq were they thinking selling their best players, hardly reinvesting any of the money and bringing in a bunch of nuffies in their place? Fantonio is dead right it shows a serious lack of ambition on Milan's part.

Sure we are also a club in rebuilding but at least in the last couple of weeks Moratti has put his money where his mouth is, we have had a good mercato and I think most would agree now we are in a far better position to challenge Juve for the scudetto than Milan, Roma or Napoli are.

The best press conference EVER

So many highlights... He destroyed Galliani. "Talks and talks. He is only friends with people who lick his ass"

---------- Post added at 21:23 ---------- Previous post was at 21:21 ----------

A Japanese journalist asked a question in Italian to Cassano : "I didn't understand a word you just said" HAHA

---------- Post added at 21:25 ---------- Previous post was at 21:23 ----------

Cassano: "I thank everybody at Milan, but not THAT (Galliani) guy that was just promising. Just smoke, he was selling just smoke"

Questions to him: "You said over Milan there was only sky". Cassano: "Exactly. Over the sky there is Inter"

---------- Post added at 21:26 ---------- Previous post was at 21:25 ----------

Cassano: "For Allegri I counted nothing. Didn't expect to be special, but for him I was the 5th, the 6th or the 7th pick"

Cassano get a question from Al Jazeera. Before replying he says: "Wait a moment: I got a very good offer from Qatar. Huge money... But I stayed because I want to play in World Cup, and honestly playing there I would lose my place with Italy"

He was asked who he would play upfront: "Palacio-Milito-Sneijder. Yes, not me, I have just arrived".

---------- Post added at 21:28 ---------- Previous post was at 21:26 ----------

Cassano:"Ok,another reason why I joined Inter?Nagatomo.I'm crazy for that guy,I want to play with him"

Cassano:"I hope Maicon stays.I don't want him to go,it would be like Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva leaving. And actually I asked to Maicon... Are you leaving? He said, still don't know. Better he stay"

---------- Post added at 21:30 ---------- Previous post was at 21:28 ----------

Cassano:"I didn't do anything wrong at Milan, nor the other players, but it's easy to point at someone and say it was his fault Like Pontius Pilate... "I'll do anything to make the fans happy here at Inter"

"Moratti wanted me at the time of Mancini, but I was a lunatic, then he decided he didn't want me anymore. Now I'm calmer."

---------- Post added at 21:31 ---------- Previous post was at 21:30 ----------

More on Galliani: "That person did everything wrong, I don't even want to mention him. He thinks he is smart".
