View Full Version : Facundo Colidio

This kid deserves his own thread. The following is a writeup from the Guardian who have named him among 60 of the best young talents in world football:

Internazionale signed an agreement with Boca Juniors for the striker in September, with the Italian side paying an initial €7m plus up to €3m in bonuses, including goals, appearances and featuring in the Champions League. Colidio, who will begin his career at Inter playing for Stefano Vecchi's youth side when he moves in January, shot to prominence at this year's South American under-17 tournament in Chile when he scored two goals against Peru. Fernando Batista, his coach with the national team, is particulary excited about Colidio's future. "He is strong, so he can play well in Europe, but he has the technical ability you would associate with Latin American players," he said. "I would like to compare him to Gonzalo Higuaín". Known as 'Coli' to his team-mates, he has also been watched by Manchester City, Atlético Madrid and Juventus and will be a big loss to Boca.

From the YouTube clips I've seen, Colido has huge potential. Such a shame he come to Inter where talented youth players gets ruined.

Doesn’t start haha.... Euro team seriously bust their Nut for any u18 Argie or Brazilian Player. Instead of paying 7-10 million for a player who might never become anything why not just spend double when he shows he is decent against adults.

Vinicius is a sub for his club in Brazil

This is most probably an unconscious thought that echoes in Colidio's head.
Unconscious thinking because, from what they say people close to him, Facundo is a humble boy who sees in football only a game, a passion. And it is perhaps that thanks to this carefree thinking today we enjoy his magic. With a soft touch he scored his first goal against Juve. Insertion from a great striker, superb stop and elegant touch. He has an impressive running facility, it seems that he always plays ahead of everyone, always knows what to do and how to do it. Strength, intelligence and elegance this is Facundo Colidio Primavera striker, destined to the first team of Inter.

Argentina is the champion of the tournament Alcúdia Sub 20. In the final victory for 2-1 against Russia with a great Colidio, true leader of the albiceste: his goal of the tie and the title of top scorer. We have a future champion at home.
In 2012 it was a certain Mauro Icardi to triumph exactly as Colidio: top scorer and trophy in bulletin board.

Don't want to be judgmental here but obviously you haven't watched enough of our Primavera to rate those 2 higher than Colido.

Collido is the most ready player from our attacking players and Espositio is the brightest talent of our youth system . Merola and Adorante will never have anything more than a Serie B career.

Actually Esposito can be compared to Bonazzoli in term of talent and hype. Both of them scored loads of goals among our youth ranks and were hyped as future talents. Bonazzoli failed miserably on his chances and now is going from team to team on loan.

Pinamonti in my opinion was in the same hype/talent as the likes of Destro and Longo. Meaning not so technically gifted , but typical Italian Advanced Forwards who were mentally and physically ready to play in Serie A in a young age. From the two , Pinamonti is the one who will have for sure some career while Esposito is either the next big thing or nothing.

Collido on the other hand to me likes looks like a Palacio sort of player , not so much a goal scoring threat but roaming a lot in the attacking space.

Unfortunately this may the case and main reason we are trying to sell him. Transfer did not happen, here`s why:

Leeds United refused to meet Inter’s €6m asking price for striker Facundo Colidio, while defender Ryan Nolan rejected a move.

The pair looked all set for Leeds, whose owner Andrea Radrizzani helped advise Suning Group on its takeover of Inter in 2016.

However, FcInterNews reports they were not prepared to spend €6m on Colidio as they ended up bringing in Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah on loan.

As for Nolan, the website writes Marcelo Bielsa’s side had offered the Irishman a three-year contract.

However, he pulled out upon learning they would immediately loan him to Angelo Alessio’s Kilmarnock.

We paid 7m€ for this kid. :yao:
This information is obsolete. It actually seems that we we payed €9.5m for his transfer from Boca U20 in 2017... The investments in youth team does not go into FFP books, so that`s probably why we tried to invest there...

Thanks for letting me know! So it doesn`t makes sense to overpay on youngsters, there is a still long way to go in their development with risks and surprises on the road.

Inter striker Facundo Colidio is reportedly heading to Belgian club Sint-Truiden on loan for this season.

The 19-year-old Argentine had been on the verge of a Premier League switch, but could not agree personal terms with Leeds United or Newcastle United.

He has also been linked with Lecce and Serie B outfit Frosinone.

According to TyC Sports reporter Cesar Luis Merlo, Colidio is set for a one-season loan in Belgium with Sint-Truiden.

There will be no option to buy, as Inter believe the former Boca Juniors talent can become a sensation.
He should play regularly.

KevinB

Inter have officially loaned striker Facundo Colidio to Belgian club Sint-Truiden for the 2019-20 campaign.

The 19-year-old hitman has been a key figure in their Primavera youth team and it’s hoped he can gain more first team experience this season.

He had also been linked with Leeds United, Lecce and Frosinone, but today completed the temporary switch to Sint-Truiden.

The Argentina Under-20 international joined Inter in the summer of 2017 for €9.5m from the Boca Juniors youth academy.

Last term, Colidio scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 31 competitive games for the Nerazzurri.
