Financial details of the deal from Roma website:

AS Roma can confirm that a deal has been agreed with Inter Milan for the permanent transfer of midfielder Radja Nainggolan.

Nainggolan, 30, joins the Nerazzurri for an initial fee of €38 million.

In the case of Nainggolan's future transfer, the agreement also includes a sell-on clause entitling the Giallorossi to 10% of any fee received by Inter - up to a maximum of €2m.

Welcome Radja!

Even at his worst, he is 45 times the player Borja is at his best, 34 times Vecino is at his best, 30 times Gags is at his best and he is better than Brozo, but Brozo can turn into super saiyan anytime and just be Brozo.

Welcome Radja. Now win us few games when Icardi wont be able to score. And olease for the love of all saint and good, score goals against juve from 30+meters.

Its an exciting timing to be an Interista. All these great news during a short period of time and there's still more to come.

Nainggolan has been one of my favourite midfielders since his Cagliari days though, and I have always wanted to see him perform at Inter. Although its a little bit late now, he is still quality and has a lot more to offer.

Welcome to the Inter family, Radja! :interscarf:

Zaniolo already put giallorossi hearts on his instagram page while Radja is going on like never left roma. I am really not enthusiastic about his arrival. Inter as always throws away players who are ready to give their everything (eg: Rafinha) and runs after players who act like a princess invited to a mere mortal's wedding. Even shitclub Napoli's president says "we don't buy players who doesn't want to play for us"

Such a drama queen, just move on FFS!! We respecting Radja and Roma, not allowing him to wear that Scarf from Interisti until everything is done deal because we know how he felt to Roma and their fans, and is not easy for him to leave and the reason is because they kicked them out. What do you expect exactly? did you want him kiss our badge and saying Forza Inter, Roma is shit etc on his first day after what he been through in past year with them, thats just plain describing such a mercenary player and Radja is not one of them, and trust me he will start doing the same with us and fight with our color to death soon. He even willing to reduce his wage from 4.5 mil at Roma to just 4 mil plus bonusses, something people use before to againts this signing since people thought he will atleast asking 5 mil a year. And now what??? you want bring this 'he look unhappy here' bullshit just to dismiss this transfer like what any Roma fans did today?

Welcome Nainggolan.
He's the warrior (or the "turbine", quoting Spalletti) we needed.
That being said, I'll also quote our brother chipschups:

People who say nah to him and bring, "He wouldnt last longer since he loves smoke and drink so much" you clearly know nothing. His Indonesian Batak tribe is basically the most badass tribe in Indonesian and its run in his blood. Eventho they love drinking but for sure they live long enough and always put 300% effort to their job and aim to be the best.

Cringeworthy welcome video from Inter Media House

https://twitter.com/inter/status/1011625128671604737

The video is amazing, rarely saw some football player presentation like this.
Another confirmartion how much Inter is a top club and is also getting back "to show it" like with new top players, the way our fans are acting when we sign someone (or the club himself, like with this video), the season record of stadium spectators... once Inter is back, we are talking about a World wide Top 5 team. A lot of people dont really realize how big Inter became in this years, the perfomance on field just destroyed our power.
But im sure we will dominate the marketing section one day. Like Bayer, Real, Barca... Inter has the potential to become like them. And i hope this will be our target. Im not interessted to do like Juve. Winning 7 years scudetto but never winning the CL. Or like PSG, City.

#InterIsComing :work: :proud:

I wouldn't look so much into it.

Remember when Ibra kissed the Barca badge only to be out in a year? And Eto'o said he won't kiss the badge on the first day as he wants to show what he can do on the pitch?

All I care about is what he shows on the pitch. Besides, I would expect him to feel a bit of sadness since Roma obviously meant a lot to him... obviously once he starts playing for us, I'm sure his affection will grow... I'm more than okay with that.

I'm just kinda worried that with his style of play, his lifestyle (smoking) and his age, how long can he last for us?

Other than that, absolutely brilliant signing and definitely better than spending money in Rafinha, especially considering we managed to sell Santon for about 10m LOL.

People complaining about Nainggolan smoking are like the ones who shout at people for confessing that they don't obey the speed limit and then act like they don't do it themselves or don't know anyone who does :D

At least half the players in Serie A are smokers. Probably at least half the players in the top 5 leagues. And I'm pretty confident that a lot of them do worse shit than just smoke or have an occasional drink. I've also seen a lot of EPL players go out whilst living in London, and not just the London based ones, and lots of them did a lot of shit. Smoking being the least of them.

Smoking is more of a personal thing but it does impact his health and may affect a footballers lifespan.

I actually was ok with not signing him last year bec i thought he would be on the way down form wise but he ended the season a lot stronger so i hope he continues like that. Also mentally he is all there.

Hope he does well

I'll start by saying I've never smoked in my life and never will.
But this is a myth. Smoking is something that makes average people have breathing and/or fatigue issues. The effect on an athlete is minimal and it will only show after they retire and stop training heavily. Severe health issues also is something that won't affect their career as they'll show way after that, if at all.

Drinking is worse than smoking. And consider that Romario was one of the greatest players/strikers of all time, played till he was 40+, rarely showed up for training, sometimes went right to the stadium from all nighter parties and probably had more alcohol in his body than water. And no one really could tell unless you were into the gossip side of things.
I know it's supposedly a different era now, more professional etc but that's true for some things other than the players themselves. Johan Cryuff smoked like a pack of cigarettes during a game. As for a more recent example, I've heard that Zidane is the heaviest smoker anyone has ever seen. Zidane. He retired after 2006 and he looked like he could play for at least 5 more years.

And the biggest name that's a heavy smoker in our days is... Lionel Messi. At least one pack a day, rumours say. There was also a rumour of an intervention  Not sure how it went.
Wesley Sneijder was and probably still is a heavy smoker. Ozil is also a known smoker.

People [in Italy] diss Nainggolan coz he's Asian and doesn't look the part. He's filled up with tattoos, smokes and doesn't have the prejudiced Asian dorky look that (southern) Europeans expect to see. There's really no reason to hate on Nainggolan smoking and I fucking hate smoking... I didn't expect to see this naivety imported here though.

If i remember correctly the same thing happened when we signed Sneijder. He was forced to move and looked like he didn't want to be at Inter and made it very clear that he preferred to have stayed at Madrid. A few days later he teared Milan into pieces without a single training session and went on to become our main man for years.

He's a professional who has been around long enough to know the drill signing for a new club, I think his reaction has been fine.

At best with this transfer we got a top 5 central midfielder in the league, for at least 2-3 years. We've spent larger amounts on much, much worse transfers and losing Santon may indirectly benefit us by forcing the club to sign a new, better fullback (one can hope anyway).

In the middle, there is also a message from captain Mauro Icardi who welcomes him to the team. Radja Nainggolan has been an Inter player since yesterday when he completed the transfer from Roma. The club of Suning officially confirmed his signature until June 30, 2022 and then there was also Roma which confirmed the deal was for 38 million euros. The contract indicates that in case of an outright sale in the future, Roma will have 10% of the transfer fee, up to a maximum of two million euros. Radja will be officially presented tomorrow in the center of Milan, this is the city that Ninja has chosen to live. Yesterday he saw a couple of houses, even in the San Siro area where many of his new teammates leave, then in the evening, he had dinner in a restaurant near the Central Station.*

Besides a new house, another important decision will be for a new shirt number. In the last eight seasons, 4 was his number of choice with the exception of 44 in the first few months at Roma. Radja, who was born on May 4th, cannot get these numbers: the first is retired in the honor of Zanetti, the second belongs to Perisic. At PIacenza, it was 21 and 23, in Cagliari it was 28, with Belgium, the numbers were a bit varied (6, 16 and 18). At Inter, he could pick 22, playing on the sum of first and second digit.

Ciao Inter - Words and greetings: Radja explained the reason for his arrival in Milan. “Director Ausilio, coach and Zanetti called me. They made me feel important and so my choice was simple. I am fired up for this new adventure. Spalletti? My best season was with him and I hope that I can repeat it here. I am at his disposal and happy to see him again.” Then a message to the fans: “I did not expect such warm welcome, I am happy. Now it will be up to me to turn it into even more applause. The affection of the fans is an important feeling for any player, it means that the city is enthusiastic and I am too.*I hope together we can take away so much satisfaction. We can do well in the league and also in the Champions League because Inter have an important history and must be a protagonist in Europe.”

From Maurito to Rome - In Milan, Nainggolan was also welcomed by Mauro Icardi who “blessed” his arrival on Instagram. “Welcome Ninja. There will be no more fighting against each other. Starting today, we will fight together.” In Rome, on the other hand, there was the goodbye from Monchi. “We made a choice, this is job of a sporting director. I understand that some people get it and others do not. An offer came, we listened, negotiated and found agreement. It is my job.” What about Rajda? Again on Instagram, he said goodbye to the capital city and now his former fans: “Everything I did, I did it giving my best and with my heart. Unfortunately, fairy tales end and not always just for their own choice. A beautiful story closes but it will remain in my heart. I thank all my former teammates, coaches and directors. I also thank the fans with much love and I will remember every single moment that we lived together. It is the beginning of a new adventure and I am happy. I will give my best as I always have. I will miss you.”

Tears for Giallorossi, fire for Nerazzurri.

Great player but when taking the enthusiasm and happiness from people on this forum into consideration and I think there sadly is a noteworthy chance of him failing here. I have just seen too many threads like this over the last 6-7 years. Podolski was rated as a man with a high workrate and with alot of experience but with a decline in form due to age. He turned out not to be the missing piece as he was hailed to be. I do have the same feeling here.

Ninja will fight to the end to never disappoint spallo. That's the person I think he is. He will show that not taking him to the world cup was a huge mistake. He will work his ass off to get us an scudetto, so he can rub it on Mochis face.

I have never been obsessed with having him in the team, but I'm happy we got one of the best players in the league and that we are trying to give spallo what he needs to make team that he wants.

Podolski lol guy who never play in Serie A before. If you want made a comparison use Hernanes, 29+ player hail as the best in Serie A, we chasing for 5 year but choose coutinho instead due to non Eu slot which we also sold Cou years later. And then Hernanes flop badly here until we sold him to juve. Funny thing we sign Hernanes because we failed sign young nainggolan. If people really love to being paranoia and cynical here i present you hernanes 2.0 #antijinx

To be fair, Podolski was already struggling before he got here though. Also, Nainggolan is simply switching teams in the same league unlike him. I have very little doubt that he won't be able to perform considerably better than our current midfielders.

Damn, I forgot about Hernanes. Hernanes was used in a bad way too, specially by Mancini. The idiot would play him on the wing.

We didn't prefer Coutinho. We bought Coutinho 3 years before that but his move was made permanent then. And FIGC had just changed the non-EU rule so Hernanes couldn't be signed. We'd have both.

NAINGGOLAN: "I’M EXCITED TO BE AT INTER AND I CAN’T WAIT TO GET GOING”
The Belgian midfielder was today presented to the press: "I'm pleased to be back working with Spalletti"

MILAN - New Inter signing, Radja Nainggolan, was today presented to the press at the Palazzo Parigi, as he answered questions on his recent transfer: “I want to thank all the Inter directors, including the Zhang family. I am happy to be here and I can’t wait to get going.

“I hope to win trophies here at Inter and this transfer represents an important step in my career. I am pleased to be at the club and I hope to strengthen the team. I think that we can do well and everyone here has the same goals in mind. A player must always feel important and the decision to come here was based particularly on this. I felt the club’s faith in me and I hope to repay this out on the pitch.”

This latest move will also see the Ninja link up once again with Luciano Spalletti: “I’m really happy to be back working with him. I already know the way how he works, and from a tactical point of view, he knows how to get the best out of me. I have played in many roles across the midfield, but for me, it is important to give my all for the team. I am at the coach’s complete disposal but it was also the entire Nerazzurri hierarchy who convinced me to come here.”

As for his new teammates, Nainggolan said: “There are many top players here at Inter. Icardi scores a lot and Perisic can always make the difference, while there are also many others. I’ve already spoken to Mauro. I told him that I was ready and he said exactly the same.

“There has been contact with Inter in the past but now I felt that it was the right time. Juventus have been winning for many years. Consistency will be important to compete on all fronts.”

Nainggolan has chosen the No.14 ahead of next season: “It is an important number. I always liked No.4 but it wasn’t available here, so I chose the first possible number that had the No.4 in it.”

Lastly, the midfielder was asked about his personal life: “Every morning I take my daughter to school, then I train before relaxing in the afternoon. I like to enjoy my free time.”

#WelcomeNinja and best of luck for this new adventure!

God that disgusting font on the back of our new jersey spits on his name. Just can't get used to it.

I am curious to see how Neingoallan will do. Roma were suspiciously eager to let him go and the Belgian NT didn't want him at the WC because he tends to ruin the harmony in the group - at least this is what Belgian friends tell me, the official statement depicts something different (of course).

Now like Spalletti and media suggest, Inter need some badboys, someone who had passion not just an ordinary guys who swallow everything and take any lose like is nothing, we need someone who bad enough to talk back and fight back to every club who trying to spit on us, we need someone who can bark and punch back the cunt like Jube on their face. Agreed. Just saying that I'm not sure if Radja will belong to that list or be more like Cassano, who utterly destroyed an initially good season with his ridiculous behavior, because the signs Roma and Belgium have been giving off aren't that good at all.

But I'm sure our Spallo will tame his reacquired lost son anyway ;)

I m not worried at all about this. As far as i m concerned there has never been a rumor of radja missing training or showing up drunk to training or fucking getting in a fight with teammates/ coaches. So all indications point towards him being a full professional when ever he is "working" the fact that he likes to smke and drink a bit in his free time does not bother me at all.
Also cassanos escapades before joining us were way worse then anything radja ever did.

Also fuck belgium and their retarded coach even if Radja was a crack addict he would still deserve to be in that squad over both Felaini and witsel.
On roma well last sumer they tried to do everything in their power to keep radja so i doubt he was unprofessional or caused any mayor troubles for them.
Imho getting rid of him is more on EDF wanting a more technical player and Monchi wanting to build his own squad.

EDIT: on a side note from his interview he seems to be a very intelligent and professional guy. Always gave the right answers and mostly without resorting to the usual BS phrases every player uses in their interviews.

Messi was allegedly an Inter fan when he was a kid. One of many who picked Inter in their PES games. There was this interview with Ronaldinho and Messi back in 2006 I think and they asked them which teams they picked in VS games and Ronnie said Barcelona while Messi said he always took Inter because of some reasons. Iirc, one of those reasons was that he always liked Inter. Guess that faded away with time.
It was also said that Maradona had a soft spot for Inter. It could be possible that both Messi and Maradona hold a grudge against Inter for not buying them when we had the chance

But I think I've heard Chiellini played Inter as a youngster on FIFA and Maldini had cards of Inter players.

I know this argument doesn't make sense, but in my mind, Chiellini is/looks too old to have played FIFA when he was a kid.

Cesare Maldini asked Paolo if he wanted to join Inter or Milan and Paolo said Milan (where his father playeed and was coach). Cesare was with the Italian NT at the time iirc.

Everyone had cards of every fucking player back then. Panini

That's because Adriano was basically god in pes 6

That's one of the reasons. Messi was an Argie kid in Europe trying to play football in the early 2000s. Their dream at the time was to play at Inter. Barcelona was a big club but compared to Inter, not so much.

This was in 2011 I think.
In Italy, Moratti is crazy about you: it is impossible to imagine the future
of Messi in Italy?
"I thank Moratti for always speaking well about me and I'm very happy that
someone so important considers me so much. As I said, though, my whole career will be in Barcelona."

Moratti rarely gets love from players, why would Messi think of him as important?

As for Diego, he likes Moratti a lot. He once said 'con Moratti avrei giocato nell'Inter' which basically means I would have played for Moratti's Inter. Though this was in a visit he made at Inter's training facilities back in 2009. Moratti was trying to lure Aguero to Inter back then

There were also rumours in 1993 that we were going to sign him but he went back to Argentina as he didn't want to disappoint the Napoli fans. We even hired his former coach to get him to back. Instead, we got the talented Dennis Bergkamp who was a rather big failure in Italy, but was good in Europe and we won a Uefa Cup and almost got relegated in the same season!

Dude looks rough as shit, but he's only 33/34. Before getting into PES, the three football games I remember playing were FIFA 97 with my older cousin, then getting my own Japanese copy of ISS WC98 on PS1, and later FIFA WC2002 (fucking ridiculous game where star players could set the ball alight if their shooting stat was high enough :yao:). Chiellini would've been 13 to 18 years old then. Perfect video gaming age for most boys I guess.

Haha yeah, there were like a few designated players per team that were either too fast or too great at shooting. Funnily, I think Aimar was the 'fast' one in Argentina who were all slowpokes and he wasn't really fast at all.

Welcome Radja!!! I`ve been waiting for this confirmation in the past 5 years or so... finally home! :proud:

Radja is a player that has constantly pushed his limits and managed to progressively evolve, so I`m not worried about his off-the-pitch habits as long as he's a model professional on the pitch. His mentality is TOP, world class, we finally got ourselves a 45m player [according to transfermarkt] for a bargain!

Walter Sabatini believes Radja Nainggolan is “an exceptional signing” for Inter, as he’s “among the best three midfielders in Europe”.

The Sampdoria technical director was a co-ordinator between the Nerazzurri and Jiangsu Suning last season, and was asked about the imminent signing of the Belgian from another of his former clubs, Roma.

“Nainggolan is an exceptional signing for Inter,” Sabatini assured, speaking Sky.

“[Luciano] Spalletti is the only Coach who can get the very best from the Belgian, and Nainggolan is among the best three midfielders in Europe. :datass:

Can`t w8 until ninja will silence all those who discarded him for his recently-turned 30 years old... you guys will eat your hat :D

I expect a couple of bangers and quick-regain of the ball to spray it forward! This will be a great season.

It was actually for both jersey and training kits. Suning took over the training kit when they took the naming right for our training center.

That's why I don't mind we have that cute lion of suning.com to replace Pirelli as long as suning pays more.

Also, actually it's only 10 millions. The 3 millions is bonus for reaching CL. LOL.

The same thing that'd happen to any Inter fan when he/she knows that Inter is gona sign a second Candreva. A smallmans Candreva to be more precise.

The only excuse for this stupid signing is tat I heard we're planning to send him to Parma for a year, which is ok by me, he can spend a year on their bench for us to realize that signing him thinking that he'll somehow transform into a Salah was a fucken laughable idea.

You are overreacting, just like many other people here. You're absolutely right about the fact he barely smiled when Inter fans welcomed him and during his press conference. You're also right about the fact he seemed happy when he was around the staff at trigoria. But that's completely normal. The guy spent 4 years at Roma and loved Roma, the fans loved him, and you can tell how attached he was to the club if you look at his instagram story. He took pictures with even the chefs that work there. It's normal to feel a bit sad about leaving a place you love. In a way he never wanted to leave Rome.

It's like when you're a student and you want to study abroad, even if you want to study abroad you feel a bit sad that you're about to leave your homeland and your family. Not because you hate the country you're going to or you're not going to enjoy your time there. As time passes you become more fond and familiar of the place you go to.

These things take time, I'm sure that in a few months time you will see a lot more smiles from Nainggolan. This is normal.

InterFCAustin

There’s nothing wrong with him posting and smiling with Trigoria staff. Also, there’s nothing wrong with him not wanting to leave Roma, and there’s nothing wrong with him being so attached there.
But, I would appreciated more smiles, or some sort of excitement from him with inter fans when he was in Milano...you don’t have to show how butt hurt you are leaving Roma. Inter fans are not at fault for that, so show some appreciation for us. That’s all.

https://www.football-italia.net/124105/nainggolan-unhurt-after-car-crash

Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan was reportedly involved in a road accident on Friday afternoon but escaped unhurt.

According to ForzaRoma.info, Nainggolan lost control of his black Ferrari GtC 4 Lusso on the A1 motorway near Arezzo in northern Italy.

However, the website assures the former Roma midfielder suffered ‘nothing serious’ in the way of injuries and was healthy enough to consult roadside assistance.

Furthemore, the 30-year-old was cited as being taken to a Ferrari dealership in Prato, which issued him with a replacement vehicle.

Nainggolan, who recently joined Inter from Roma in a €24m transfer, was travelling back to Milan for preseason with his new club.

Would be great if our players could live to see the season, glad to see he was uninjured.

Sabatini on Nainggolan:

“Nainggolan’s sale? There are two explanations for that move. There was the €38m in cash before June 30, of which €14m went back for [Davide] Santon and [Nicolò] Zaniolo.

“The second is that Roma were scared. They could no longer control his excesses, but Spalletti controls him well.

“He used to make him sleep at Trigoria. He’d say: ‘we’ll sleep here tonight Radja, me and you’. Each in his room with the door open. Spalletti is a genius with those things.

“You love someone like Radja, he fascinates you as a lad.

“At Inter I’m sure he’ll give the best of himself as a player, just as he did for Roma. At Inter though he’ll do things that people don’t even expect.

“He gets his energy from nerves, not from muscles. He’s a unique, unrepeatable player.”
