Argentina is over rated but no where near France.

Totally depends how Messi’s mode is this game. Maybe he can limp them to the final again

Possible quarter final match up between Portugal and Argentina, Messi vs C Ronaldo.
FIFA mafia is licking their chops right now to make that happen, so looking forward to lots of controversies in France vs Argentina, and Uruguay vs Portugal.

I don’t see Uruguay or France losing unless Messi/Ronaldo play out of their fking minds and go super saiyan fusion god mode X 15

Or Fifa and Var totally fk over Uruguay or France. Think France is too big of a federation to fk over

I highly doubt that.
I'm boldly predicting easy win for Argentina. +2 goals win.
France didn't show anything special so far. Two shitty wins, that easily could have been draw.
I hate Argentina, but fuck France too.

Lucky vs Australia, and also lucky vs Peru.

Yeah France's wins were lucky and overrated, unlike Argentina's wins. If Iceland and Croatia's defences held back Messi, what's stopping France from doing so?

I would like Argentina to proceed. But they are unorganized, they have a coach who is set aside, players who fight for power and players who deserve to be here and those who are here but I've never heard about before.

They might be overhyped players but they are very good players too. The starting 11 players and even the squad, they are full of good players who plays for big teams as very important players.

Problem for France is, they don't play as a team. Everyone wants to be a hero, just like Belgium.

No they dont. Argentina has better knows names, if we talking about "stars".

Yesterday Argentina 11 was
Armani - plays in Argentinian league
Mercado - plays for Sevilla
Tagliafico - who moved to Dutch league in Jan
Rojo - back up for ManUtd
Otamendi - yeah he is first choice for best team in England
Mascha - plays in Chinese league
Ever Banega - plays for Sevilla
Enzo Perez - plays in Argentinian league
Di Maria - yeah he is good player for PSG, best team in France
Higuian - striker for best team in Italy
Messi - Arguably GOAT.

Apart from Messi you can easily make argument that France has better known players in every position.

Which player is better or which team is better, we can argue all day but Argentina don't have more "Known" players.

France usual 11:
Lloris - First choice GK for Spurs
Pavard/Sidibe - Pavard plays for Stuttgart so he isn't much known, Sidibe plays for Monaco who won French league and Semi finals for CL just a year ago
Varane - Starting CB for Madrid who won 3 CLs in a row
Umtiti - Starting CB for Barca, who won La Liga with huge margin
Mendy/ Lucas Hernandez- Injured, otherwise first choice LB for City/ Lucas plays regularly for Ateltico Madrid

Kante - Arguably second best player for Chelsea
Pogba - Important player for ManUtd
Matuidi - regular player for best team in Italy

Mbappe - second best player after Neymar for PSG
Griezmann - key player for Ateltico Madrid
Dembele - Injured a lot, but will be regular player for Barca

Then they have players like Kimpembe, Lemar, Tolisso, Fekir who all plays for big teams.

Agree, plus both sides weakened by poor coaches. Pace of Les Bleus present a lot of problems for a terrible defense, hope Sampaoli comes to his senses and sits Mascherano but I am skeptical.

The problem is who do they play? Biglia who’s even slower? Lo Celso? He’s not a really a true DM. We saw in CL how he got found out in that position.

I agree Mascherano is past it but Argentina didn’t really bring a replacement.

No, I concur - they are bereft of options but I would still consider Lo Celso due to him being better on the ball. Unfortunately, they simply lack steel in the midfield so they will need to be able to maintain & win back possession. Mascherano was giving balls away with zero pressure, he's sadly past it and I saw this plenty this past season at Barcelona

Once Lanzini went out with an injury, seemed only logical he'd choose someone like Matias Kranevitter but instead opted for experience in Enzo Perez rather than quality or need at DM. Sooo, I think they are effectively obliged to play with a double pivot and try a 3-2-3-2 formation - of course, this could be suicide against Mbappe & Dembele

Di Maria – Kun
Banega – Messi - Pavon
Mascherano – Lo Celso
Tagliafico – Rojo – Otamendi

Honestly the two most over rated teams. Wish both could lose

I mean I am so pro South America but man so hard to cheer for this team. They have fking Icardi!!! And then had Armani eating bench for 2 games..... like wtf is wrong with the players and the coaches to do that

Armani was unbeaten when he played in colombia. His club won the South American champions league and was going to win the South American (Europa league) but forfeited becauae the other team all died. Anyone who follows South America. Footie knew he was the best goalie in South America. Colombia wanted to call him up for our side. Glad he got called up for Argentina and is actually playing.

He didn’t get called up for Colombia because all the Colombian goalies bitched about calling a foriegner and the previous “legends” bitched about it too. He benched our #2 at the World Cup in the same team. Yet the other guy “deserves” to be on the team haha. Armani is married to a Colombian and played in our league for 10 years. All Colombians love that guy

Argentina cheated their way to both world cups. One time with doping and the other with the so called hand of god. They don't bring much respect towards South America as a whole. They only shame it.

Fazio should just retire as a defender and switch to goalkeeping. He makes Ranocchia look like Cordoba.

That was the 1st full game that I've seen this whole tournament, call me the Cunt Oracle.

Sampaoli looks like a club bouncer, fitting for a team full of thugs such as Argentina.

After that great of a match I'm ready for the masterpiece 0-0 between the six pack and buck teeth.

Well, between potential line up of, Messi-Aguero-Di Maria and Mbappe-Griezman-Giroud, on paper the argies are much more well known...that’s what I meant with “stars”.....obviously is debatable, but that’s just my personal opinion.
Mbappe is a real deal tho wow! I should watch French league more often I guess :)

We will be signing the new M'bappe called Malcom.

Hopefully Bordeaux won't raise the price on Malcom after M'bappe's sensational performance.

Mbappe is the real best player of the world.

Maybe if he wins the World Cup and Plays like today

Argentina had no MF,FWs or Defenders

As for Portugal too difficult for 1 person to beat a team by himself especially one with arguably the best two strikers and CBs in the cup.

I'll be afraid of Argentina after Messi has retired. That's when they will start to click...

Why? Having shitty midfield and shittier defence is not World Cup worthy. Until they have at least 6 world class players in top form playing in their First11, they have no chance.

And not that some of the other teams have so much better players, to me England is barely any better than Argentina at this moment.

Argentina is a loooooooooooooooong way from Uruguay, France and Brazil, the top3 teams to beat right now (of those that still play in this WC). Also Croatia are the ones who can still surprise.

I hope we are not counting Vecino and Laxalt here.

Well, close - Cavani, Suarez, Godin, Gimenez and Muslera are world class in this form. Bentacour and Torreira are so-so, Vecino good in defence, very Interesque in attack.

Some world class players in Argie NT aren't near their form right now. Also managed by incompetence doesn't help.
