Our last European trophy. I admit I wasn't a fan of Inter at this time but I downloaded the game off my roomates computer using Emule. Our team was quite good with a fairly young Javier Zanetti and the ever infamous Il Fenomeno. Both scored superb goals (along with Zamorano) and we won 3-0 though the scoreline wasn't exactly fair as I thought Lazio played very well.

Does anyone else remember this game?

CORRECTION....... Zamorano will ever be an inter legend, but Ronaldo -- NO, he is certainly not a club legend. More like a club disgrace.

This is one of the 2 most memorable European fixtures in my Inter life, the other being Inter - Real Madrid. What can be said about this game that has not already been said? A wonderful, magical night that had 3 of the best goals i have ever seen. Zamorano & Capitano, the 2 heroes of the night. :proud: :star:

MilanHater, can you share the video of the Inter - Lazio fixture? I've been looking for a digital copy but was not able to find all these years. :)

Ciao,
Tim

I sadly never saw the game, or heared about it. I wasn't an Inter fan, and I used to detest the UEFA cup and the Cup Winners cup. It would be great for someone to post a video or pics from that game.

I did see all three goals from the best 100 goals in Inter's history, all of them were great.

LOL!! u used to that 2 man...my teacher used to flip out back in the day. In our schools, one way of reaching our parents if we gave them trouble in class, they will write a note to our parents in that diary and expect it to be signed the next day. Sucks i kno, my teachers used to find pics of the football players i used to cut out from the newspapers, oh..during art CLASS!!

It worked! Thanks a lot ivan, it's great, I can believe Mancini was playing for Lazio! Hearing Scarpini saying his name as a Lazio player is so strange!

I wish somebody had the Scarpini clip for Capitano's goal!

Every time friend. ;)

But the best was when Scarpini start screaming "E Roni, e Roni, e Roni Roni, e Roni...!" while Ronaldo start his slalom dribling and getting past Marchegiani then score the goal for sure win. :proud:

primo-inter!
There are years since u posted this - but u are so so wrong buddy!
Ronaldo was not a f***face , he was a fair person!
Since he got the Red Black jersey - he didn't eat shit like other players when they are away from the ex-team!
He was a true player!

Is it just me or was this UEFA Cup the last time people looked at it as a serious competition? It got worse and worse after that, leading to it's death and the inception of this current Europa League.

This season the round of the last 16 had great teams in it. BUT: The big teams aren't really interested in this competitition ... A thing that I can't understand. Trophy is trophy.

For me the biggest problem is that the teams from the Champions League also enter the Europa League when they got kicked out. So the Europa League really feels like the Loser League. I would prefer less teams in the group stage ... like in the CL: Only 8 groups and then start with the round of the last 16. So there would be also more money available for those clubs that progress in the competition.

It definitely feels like a loser competition indeed. Since teams like Sampdoria fall to this competition after losing a round, it does feel irrelevant to the big boy teams. The coverage just doesn't seem as big like it once was.

Uefa/EL is a looser cup? maybe, but to be honest that's how it's explained in Italy to cover shameful decrepitude of Serie A teams on euro levels
