MILAN - Former Inter midfielder Faas Wilkes died this morning in his native Holland after suffering from heart complications. He was 82 years old. Nicknamed 'the flying Dutchman' by the fans, Wilkes scored 47 goals in 95 Nerazzurri appearances from 1949 to 1952.

An idol of Johann Cruyff, Wilkes is considered one of the greatest Dutch players ever and is still the second top scorer of all time for his country, with 35 goals in 38 matches at international level.

F.C. Internazionale expresses its heartfelt condolences to the family of the legendary Dutch midfielder.

He spent here 3 seasons - 95 matches and 47 goals

RIP Faas...:(

His name is Servaas Wilkes if I am not wrong, and he got the nickname "Faas" which is mean "Dribble" in the dutch since he had a good dribbling skill.

Eventhough I have never heard of him before, his record with us is pretty impressive.
