Here's my shoulder for you to cry on! :D

Seriously, today marks 10 years since Massimo Moratti took over Inter. I know it's been less then illustrious for you, mildly put, but I'd like you to analyze coolly the past decade. What should he have done different? How much are all Inter's failures his fault and how much were others around him at fault? Has he learned something along the way? Is there a postitve side to his ownership?

Fire away.

Well there have been many more negatives than positives but I think we all have to thank M.Moratti for all the money he has pumped into the club and I think what he does - for the good of the team, just he isn't very good at it! :D

Fabio :)

Well said Frances.

I'm a big Moratti fan. You have to consider that I lived the Pellegrini era as a fan too, and let me tell you, he was WAY worse than Massimo.

Anyway, Moratti made us a great team, he made mistakes, but he also took us inches away from the title twice, he had to deal with all sorts of gobbi cheating, away goals elimination from the CL and so on.

He's a fan first, and that's a great thing, if you ask me.

Sure, that makes him keen on making mistakes, but I much rather that than a business man who treats Inter as nothing more than a financial asset.

Grazie Massimo, I hope you'll be with us in 2015! :star:

Moratti is a fan of Inter, and is financially capable to provide Inter with the financial assistance needed. His love for Inter is undeniable. With this, we can say that he is a good owner.

But his deep love for Inter may also be a factor which makes him a bad owner. His hope for Inter to win the scudetto as fast as possible blinds him to do stupid things in the transfer market. He sometimes buys players which are past their time, or simply ineffective. He also sells a few youngsters whom he thinks aren't good enough, but who have turned out to be stars, like Pirlo and Seedorf.

But all in all, Moratti is a more of a good owner than a bad one. He loves the club and is willing to pump cash into Inter. For me, that's good enough. :proud:

This is from an article on the magazine Calcio Italia. I'm sure it will be used to insult Moratti, but I thought it would be interesting to see what the guy tried to do, and all the effort he put into making Inter great. Obviously he made many mistakes, but he also took some of the best football players in the world to Inter. And remember, while mistakes were made by Inter as a club, Moratti himself was able to convince several players to join us.

He's regarded as a wonderful man by many champions. Vieri and Recoba, for example, stayed this long at Inter mainly out of love for him. I hope he will be able to do this with other champions (maybe he can convince Kompany to join us).

Under 5? Now that is as hard as winning the Scudetto itself. :D

I can't f*cking believe that he signed 17 f*cking players in 00/01.:lol: Thank the Gods that I was an Inter fan only after that season. :D

Sorry mate but to be honest I can't be bothered typing all that, and also there are copyright issues (I really don't think I'm allowed to post a scanned pic of the article...).

118 transfers, How many World Class defenders we bought 2?? 3 maybe if you included Blanc. I have supported Inter since Massimo Moratti took over but until now the transfer policy of Inter still leaves alot to be desired.

I mean if anyone still remebered Cuper asked for Wingers and Mr Moratti bough a shipload of wingers for him. :dielaugh: I certainly hope with Facchetti at the helm ( if that is ) we can be better in our transfer policies.

Hey, long time no post!! Great to see that this forum has recovered after some technical problems.

Anyway, it has been a very painful decade for us nerazzuri and at times I am sure we have all questioned Massimo Moratti, but when you consider the amount of money he has spent on the club he cannot be entirely blamed for this barren spell at Inter. Surely with the quality he has bought into the team the Coaches should take some of the blame.

I guess the one thing I am angry at Moratti for is his total impatience. I think he has spent about 500m and bought in 12 different coaches. Of course with that type of record the squad would never get settled.

But finally Moratti seems to have learned from his mistakes and I reckon that we are about to reach our greatest heights ever. We have direction and purpose now. Moratti is no longer impatience and all of the signals point that he will keep faith with Mancini and make few changes to this already strong squad.

We certainly deserve some success and at times we find it easy to blame Moratti. But how many of us would easily fork out 500m just for a football team? That is the proof that he really loves the team. If he didn't he would have pulled out of this by now if he was only in it for the financial gains. He is devoted to Inter and I for one am looking forward to another decade with him at the helm.

Just in case you didn't know, here are all the coaches Massimo Moratti has hired:

1996-1997
Roy Hodgson
Luciano Castellini

1997-1998
Gigi Simoni

1998-1999
Gigi Simoni
Mircea Lucescu
Luciano Castellini
Roy Hodgson

1999-2000
Marcello Lippi

2000-2001
Marcello Lippi
Marco Tardelli

2001-2002
Hector Cuper

2002-2003
Hector Cuper

2003-2004
Hector Cuper

Yep, what an amazing list. Before this season (I hope) we had only achieved one manager for the whole season 6 times under Moratti.

Fabio :D

It surely is a long list. Obviosly the fact that you included everyone, like Corrado Verdelli, who was the Inter Primavera coach and was only in charge for one game, makes it even longer ;)

Yeah I gathered that. Actually you said: "the coaches Massimo Moratti has hired".

Castellini wasn't hired, he was already part of the staff.

Hodgson came back for the last 3 or 4 games of that season, mostly as a favour to Moratti. People who weren't around back then might get the wrong idea, that's all I'm saying.

It's obvious that Moratti has made some mistakes during his period at Inter.

However he loves Inter,he wants to make Inter very strong and he gives the club financial stability.

I am happy that we have Moratti.
