Girls don't like reading comics, but if you had a son, I would happily recommend old Italian comics for him. Such as...

Zagor
Martin Mystere
Mister No
Dylan Dog
Ken Parker
Tutto Mark
Il Grande Blek
Capitan Miki
Judas

The new generation does not know these, but Italians are as good as Americans at writing comics.

2. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Meltdown-205 pages.
3. The Little Mermaid and Other Fairy Tales-237 pages
4.Ramona Quimby: Age-8-185 pages
5.Henry and Bezus-185 pages

And we are currently on the second book of Chronicles of Narnia, The Witch, the Lion and The Wardrobe.

She did great. Daily reading develops her vocabulary and helps to read faster and better, without stuttering and thinking too long over certain difficult words.
