Women have their own leagues so that's hardly the same.
So have foreigners. In every country there are soccer competitions and with this rule every country can build on the best competitions possible (mainly), with their own talents and own identity. The ideal situation for me and also for Italy.

England would be ruined and Italy we become better and better.

We will see what happens but I don't see how they will be able to say guys with dual nationality can't qualify for this.
Did they say this? I don't see why they shouldn't. Perhaps they will have to make a choice for their nationality, just like with the national teams.

The orange card is a good idea. In youth soccer in the States, if you get a yellow, you have to leave the field for a time. Works fine.

I think its ridiculous to pay two referees to stand by the goals for the rare occasion that there is a controversial goal. Imagine the effect this would have on referee quality because of the shortage of refs.

The restriction of transfers also has its problems. Relocation of families, etc.

I'd like to have more info on Santon, do you have some sources? I've heard from another source that Santon has come to Inter at the age of 15 or something so he isn't an Inter product if that's true. I will ask more info from that source and tell it here. I can't Italian so googling more info is hard for me.

I just want to add something here.

If my calculations aren't wrong then Facchetti joined Inter when he was 18 years old. This makes Santon more Inter product than Facchetti himself.

I'm mentioning this because it's the first time I know this information (or maybe I forgot it and only this discussion reminded me of it).

The UEFA seems to be planning more new rules.

The want to introduce a 'soccertax'. This means that big clubs must pay the tax, to give the smaller clubs financially support.

The UEFA wants to make the difference between rich and poor less. They want to make the competitions more exciting since there is in Engeland always the same top 4, and in France Lyon won the title 7 years in a row.

There is also a possibilety they will introduce a maximum of salary. But this won't make the difference between rich and poor teams smaller.

I hope they just stay away with their crazy plans. There will always be difference, and if they don't like it, then they have just bad luck. It seems they are trying to ruine soccer more and more.....they should concentrate on other rules and things. Like introducing camera's....

I like the salary cap.

"The UEFA want a stop of transfers inside Europe for players who are -18 years. I think this is very positive. In this occasion the clubs must work on their own youth, build up their own talents and that can only be positive. Specially for Inter since we have a great youth."

I don't like this one tbh, but I'm sick of watching english teams sign young italian and spanish players simply because you can't offer those players a professional contract that early in Spain and Italy.

And I'm not sure about the 6+5 rule. I mean, I would love more italians in the team, but at the same time, we're named Internazionale for a reason.

IFAB, a new revolution is coming: here is the blue card, details, and how it works

Another revolution is on the way in the game of football, as anticipated by the English newspaper Telegraph. According to reports, IFAB, the institution responsible for setting refereeing standards in the world of football, is ready to introduce the "blue card," a sanction halfway between the current yellow and red cards, resulting in a temporary expulsion from the green rectangle.

The English newspaper goes into detail about the novelty, explaining that the new blue card will simply be an addition to the yellow and red ones, without replacing them, and will result in a 10-minute suspension from the field for the player who receives it. However, it would not be a measure applied to all game situations: the blue card, it is stated, would be used only in cases of excessive protests by a player or in the case of the so-called "tactical foul" or unsporting situations such as repeated holding. And if you receive two blue cards, or a yellow and a blue, you get a red card. The novelty is expected to be officially introduced at the IFAB meeting on March 2nd.
-----------------------------
Ah yes - the sport is being crippled by local fans not being able to afford tickets for games, despotic autocratry-led sportswashing, company-led multiple club ownerships and the possible implementation of a Super League which threatened to destroy the very fabric and definition competition...

But what really needs focus is for football's rules to be more like hockey, actually. We really want players out for 1/9 of a match for slightly protesting a wrong call by a sensitive referee, and there's no way that the definition of what constitutes a 'tactical foul' will lead to controversies. No way José.

Fucking numbnut idiots at the IFAB.

This is bullshit. What means between yellow and red, and how this will be defined? This looks to me more like a leverage for Jube and Milan to have an extra man on the field if the match doesn't go their way.

Absolute insanity. They want to complicate the game even more when the beauty and the popularity of it throughout the decades have been partly because it is a fairly simple game with simple rules.

The first fuck up here is making it a blue card...the kind of fouling they're talking about that seems harsher than yellow but too soft for red has been called an "orange card" for as long as I can remember, which makes sense because red + yellow = orange...where the hell does blue come into play here? It doesn't make any sense.

Probably because it's a whole different meaning than punishing in a similar fashion.

Just apply the f*ckin rules as they are now. I think they have been saying for years that swearing and cursing at a referee is a yellow card. THEN JUST PULL YELLOW. Typical behavior today: Something is not going well and instead of just enforcing the rules we are going to make it even more difficult and unclear for everyone.
