    Betting Scandal

Im not sure if I've read this right, so I'd ask someone to clarify for me:

    http://translate.googleusercontent.c...081AsfN4ZXeLJQ

But it sounds like we're about to have an absolutely huge betting scandal?

It is weird that FCInterNews seems to be the only news outlet with a story on this....I didn't see anything on FCInter1908 or Gazzetta...

Reading that story i see Napoli, Udinese and Lazio ( All above us in the table ) are involved if true.

If points penalties are involved, Do i see a troll 3rd place finish for Inter ?

Getting pretty fucking sick of Serie A's constant scandals. Its destroying its already bad reputation ffs

the talk seems to be that, after the 2007 FARCE, if a club is sanctioned for something, it is not eligible to enter the champions league.

Of course, I'm not caring about this from the perspective of the CL, I'm just curious if we're about to see a HUGE story break in Italy about betting scandals..

Organized crime, meets gambling, meets football. This hasn't just started happening recently, as long as people love to spend money gambling this will remain an issue, IMO. I remember last year after Inter's CL elimination I had a dentist appointment, but I was already in as much pain as possible, so who cares. I was in a bad mood, and the guy asked me, and I said "Well, my team just lost a very important match." And the guy says "You lost money?" And I immediately realize my reaction isn't even possible for 80% of people, except if they had bet money on the game, and lost!

I'm glad Inter havent yet been implicated - the one saving grace we have recently is that we arent a corrupt club at least..

Who knows? Depends how endemic it is with the club. If its just a couple of players, it'll probably just be bans/prison sentences for the players. If its suggested that the club was somehow fixing for it, then it'll be punishments like Calciopoli again, depending on the severity.

It hasnt broken yet, so I'm starting to doubt if theres any truth in it

betting is something to do individual players and not the club itself, i really dont think clubs will be religated or something like that, but at list some football players will get banned

i think the clubs are at liability just the same as (for example) Atalanta starting this season on -6.

What wont happen, though, is something like Calciopoli where clubs are given HUGE points deductions etc, because (frmo what I can see) it isnt a systematic match fixing to win the league or anything, just odd matches

You always have to wonder in these scandals, which clubs, players etc. slip through the ring too...Reality is, where there's a pile of money, corruption is closeby...C'est toujours une histoire d'argent
