If I had to guess it's because cats are an invasive species, especially somewhere like NZ which is relatively isolated and probably has a much more sensitive ecosystem than places that have been exposed to many more types of predators in the past.

Yep, we have the same cat problem here in Aus. All our dumb-fuck mammals have not evolved to deal with the ninja-assassins of the animal kingdom. When the government announced that they were going to be culling feral cats, lots of hippies went mental. Needless to say, culling the cats was the only way of protecting the fragile and unique wildlife.

Eating healthy is nigh impossible in this piece of shit third world country where literally everything is either sugar or carbs and all that you can do is choose your goddamn poison when you don't get home until 5:30 PM.

Same here pretty much. Tons and tons of carbs and pretty much nothing else.

Your best bet is cooking your own meals but of course that takes time. Time that usually one doesn't have or isn't willing to invest it in cooking.
Either way if you want to stay healthy you need to make time in your day to cook or prepare meals ahead of time.

Really not interesting at all Basically if I want to eat during the day I get to choose between bakery products, typical fast food of meat variety or supermarket garbage like candy/power bars. You can't buy pre-packed salads in supermarkets where I live because nobody makes anything like that. No tuna/chicken sandwiches. Turkey meat? Forget about it. Obviously I do have access to fruit but you can only eat so much goddamn fruit.

I've eaten enough bagels and balkan pastry variety for a dozen lifetimes and I'm getting a bit older and I don't really enjoy fast food because it feels like I'm carrying a building block inside my throat for the rest of the day afterwards. Meal prep is all the rage and it would probably solve my issues but I can't in good conscience spend entire sunday, the one off day that I have, cooking through the entire afternoon. What often happens is that I try to wing it until I get home without eating anything only to crash without any energy right around this time, ~3pm, and then I just say fuck it and devour an energy drink and a power bar which is usually about 600 kcal of sugar.

The few and inbetween food items that are geared towards health nuts (which I am not, just to be clear), like fancy yogurts and other stuff are ridiculously overpriced. It's hard to eat well when national culture is all about meat and fat which reduces your choices and selection, and that's without even going into whether one has the means to afford anything else.

Basically when people aren’t prepping your meals it’s tough to stay healthy

My last job we had a chief that would make us what we wanted it was sick and usually pretty healthy

New job it’s a school cafe or a local restaurant but if it’s not homemade then it’s probably unhealthy

I gave up coffee, soda, milk and basically just drink water and sometimes a veggie smoothie as I don’t eat vegetables. My wife makes them for me. But be warned. veggie drinks are good but the first few days you will be shitting out a storm as it cleanses your body

I have been dealing with this problem as well and I decided to turn the things around and stop eating real lunch at work. I usually eat a solid breakfast around 08:00 consisting of eggs, some bread and deli meats (suho meso, dimljena pileca prsa i sl.) + a banana. Then I bring my lunch to work which is plain oatmeal 60-100 grams (najjeftinije zobene pahuljice koje nadjes, bez icega dodatnog), a bit of whey protein for taste only, a bit of peanut butter, 1 banana and 200-300ml of milk. Every now and then I add raspberries to the mix. I eat this lunch between 11:30 and 13:00. It gets me through the day and I eat again around 18:00h at home. It has proteins, carbs and fats and is easily digested (I have a demanding stomach when it comes to digestion). The best thing is that prep lasts around 1-2 minutes, you simply put everything in a plastic container and throw it in your bag or whatever.

Sometimes I order food with colleagues but it's usually once a week, the rest I always bring my lunch. It can also be greek yogurt with bananas and Plazma.

I relate to this on a spiritual level, around my work there are literally 5 bakeries. I'm so sick of it, my only change of food is switching between boreks between shops, ive eaten so much the thought of it makes me feel sick.

I usually buy "custom" sandwiches, when I go out with friends I look for those places where they can make a sandwich with just the ingredients you want (which in my case is usually mushrooms, onions and ham).

Lately I have become a bit of a health nut, I avoid pretty much anything with too much sugar or fats (especially saturated fats).

Sometimes it's hard to find what you are looking for but I manage to avoid junk food.

I have also cut for the most part on foods with too much sucrose (common sugar).

And I have quit drinking. I never liked alcohol to begin with, now I only sip some wine on occasions.

When possible, I also choose foods with a fair amount of fibres, mostly so that it takes longer for the body to break down the glucose.

It's not so much about living longer, but rather increase the quality of life. It seems to work well for me, hope it works in the long run as well.

HAHAH those german porn videos have high comedic value though if you understand german.

Her: Warum hast du ne Maske an? (why are you wearing a mask)

That one's a classic, the hilarious background music makes it even better . I remember seeing it on TV Total, back when Stefan Raab was still around.

Speaking of Stefan Raab, I miss tv total. The German show biz in general is way more entertaining than the swiss one.

I don't feel ok with this, not cause I'm a hipi cat person. Natural ecosystem are pretty sensitive to change, with the constant intervention of humans it could, actually it WILL backfire, if you kill more cats than it's supposedly in sustainable range to keep a natural equilibrium, the next day you'll find yourself dealing with a life threatening rats problem for instant, and if you think cats are an invasive species, then you don't know anything about rats, these things could eat your entire country in a week.

    Good luck with that
