After a couple of articles suggesting we already reached an agreement with the player [some say we're getting him as early as January, some June] I think this guy deserves a thread.

His contract expires next summer and so far he doesn't want to sign a new one. Salary would be 1,65M @ year for two years, at least that's what he asks to renew. Transfer price would be around one million if we want him now.

would be great to have him. with Juan and Frog turning good there's no real need for more young defenders...better getting as much experience in and about those 2 as possiable. also since Silvestre has flopped (at least so far)

Great. He might be 32, but is also in very good physical shape. Great defender, versatile, excellent in the past few years, ESPECIALLY this one. IMO together with Ranocchia and lately The Nose from JuBe, the three best defenders. He is also used to 3 man defense.

For less than a million (his contract expires in June), and wage below 2, preferably below 1.5, and MAXIMUM of two years contract, i'm all in! Better rotational defender we won't get. Silvestre turned out to be flop for us, and we do need another defender, so Campagnaro would suit us perfectly well for first choice sub.

    Derby d'Italia, why the rivalry?

    If it does, even better.

But with these terms (~million transfer fee and less than 2m€ annual salary for 2 years), I'm also positive with this rumor. Samuel is getting age AND his physics are failing him. Chivu's physics are failing him totally. We need exp in our defence but not with the expense of quality (I'm looking at you Silvestre). If we get this guy, hopefully he lives up to the expectations and not fail like Silvestre.

I predict a five year contract and a salary of €3.5m per year if true.

Very average defender, slightly better than Silvestre but not by a huge margin

Well, I'm not exactly a Napoli fan so I haven't watched him a single time this year and I don't quite remember how other team's players perform but I love stats [I'm in infographic design] and guys at WhoScored are pretty much objective and correct as Calcio fans when It comes to giving ratings. He's 12th in their overall player rating for Serie A before Hamsik and a notch after Arturo Vidal. The defenders that have performed better than him this season are Ranocchia, Chiellini, Savic of Fiorentina and Samuel so he's de facto the 5th best defender in the league that could cost us 1M. Stats are objective - you are not.

Stats are objective, how you use them are however not. Stats discussion aside, I followed Napoli quit a bit he might be there best CB:s but the competion in that Napoli isnt a great achivment. He is a squad player at best at a club with Inter ambitions

A perfect age/quality wise backup for Ranocchia in the next 2 years.

So you're expecting a 32yo defender with world class potential?

Then what are your "you are good, but no, thanks" statements for?

Just admit it, Campagnaro is good defender and would be valuable for us. Unless you are expecting something worldclass, there is no explanation for your posts.

I dont think he is good...at all. He is the best CB at Napoli but they are all pretty average/bad. So no I wont admit it.
