    George Puşcaş

Romanian striker George Puşcaş [17 years old] signed a 3 year contract with INTER. He will join the Primavera squad.

He was accompanied by his parents (because he is minor), agent Pietro Chiodi and Cătălin Sărmăşan (left), sporting director of Liberty Oradea, the club that he used to belong. Why is it important anyway?

    Welcome and good luck!

George Pusca is the U-17 NT captain and top goalscorer. He's a striker and was also the captain and top goalscorer of the romanian U-15 NT. The U-16 generation of his club were invited by Manchester City to a tournament, mainly to watch him.

He is 1,86 m tall, born on 08.04.1996.

Here is what I've found in the romanian press regarding him:

October.2012 - Wonderkid George Puscas will go to Arsenal, he has been followed for 6 months by Tony Banfield, one of the club's scouts. He was invited for a 1 week trial.

If he will impress and stay, will be offered a 2 year contract, as usual for Arsenal youngsters. If he will further confirm, will be offered another 3 year contract. This youth-forming strategy was revealed by Banfield in The Guardian, in August 2008.

April.2013 - He was in Lyon for trial, but that's all I know.

    * he is reffering to Cristian Daminuţă and Denis Alibec, romanian players that signed for INTER's Primavera but failed to make it for the 1st team. He is still in highschool (1 more year).

The young romanian stated that he already managed to meet with Chivu in Milan. „It is an honour for me to be at the same club as Cristi Chivu. I spoke to him, he's a great player and a great man.”, said the young player, who will be colleague with another romanian at Primavera, Răzvan Popa: „I don't know him very well, I have only played with him once at the youth NT.”
Romanian folks keep writing that he should be humble and serious, unlike Daminuta and Alibec (both talented but very poor mentally) in order to succeed.

Frankly, I am quite surprised that we signed for us, general public here knows that he would have much more chances to shine at Arsenal, based on their youth policy, there are comments suggesting he made a mistake by joining INTER [lol], but I guess money STILL talks (it is reported that INTER's offer was better than Arsenal's).

So yeah, we really need to improve our global image regarding YOUNG/YOUTH players and their 'success story', especially NOW when we can only afford to relay on these prospects in the future.

    that doesnt add up.

He was on trial at Arsenal in Oct 12? They dont take 9 months to make an offer to a youth they like.

He's almost certainly failed his trials at Arsenal and Lyon, if they havent signed him

I was about to say the same. There is a tendency sometimes to hype kids too much. Lets see how young Puscas does with the primavera - my guess is that the first year he will mostly be a bench player.

Most probably didn't impress there, but was good enough for INTER... quick, let's blame it on someone!

Nobody hyped him, romanian media was just enthusiastic about this signing of INTER. I never heard of him before!

Well, of course it doesnt mean much. Plenty of very good players have failed trials at Inter, for example... Ibra failed at Arsenal, too...

Given the strikers we have at the younger levels, I wouldnt be surprised if he was playing for the Primavera next year, though.

He did and he didn't go for any trials at Arsenal. He just rejected it.

    Edit: I mean Ibra

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has revealed that he was once offered a trial by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger but rejected the offer as insulting.

The Swedish striker is still bitter about the offer and has vowed to make The Gunners pay when they travel to Amsterdam on Wednesday in the return fixture of the Champions League.

The Ajax ace was offered the chance to link-up with the North London giants two years ago when he received glowing reports from scouts watching him perform for Swedish side Malmo.

Ibrahimovic says he was insulted by the offer of a trial and the 21-year-old and told the News of the World: "I didn't have a trial - I came for talks with Arsenal.

"But Wenger wanted me to do a trial and I said: 'I don't do trials. You know who I am."

The Swedish international moved to the mighty Ajax for £5.5 million soon after the altercation with the Frenchman and concluded:

"You can expect a lot from me in Amsterdam.  I'd like to show them what they missed."

oh, sorry for not seeing the sarcasm

the point of trials is to see if a player can fit the system the coach has in mind.
