Looking over at the Inter first team, there is only about 9 Italians. The rest are foreigners. One of the guys at a forum i regularly visit is a Juventini, however, he has a view that i found quite intreguing. He says that the reason Inter (and in part, the Azzurri) fail so much is due to too many foreign talent in the Serie A.
So, for example, all the talk of when Valencia played Inter in the CL group rounds, there was talk that Valencia were probably gonig to start more Italians than Inter would've (they had one Italian player less, i think, in the starting XI, however, that's irrelevant at this time). So looking at the sqaud, does he have a point? Is Inter's continue failure due to too many foreigners in the squad? We can look at the likes of Esposito, Toni, Bazani(on last years form) and even Ambrosini, and we see quality players that aren't at the big three clubs, and if they are, they don't start. So, the question i want to ask is, if Inter changed their policy and started signing Italian players more rather than going for overseas talents, would that help, somewhat, in changing their fortunes?
