    Visiting Milan, any advice?

I've booked two tickets to Milan for me and my gf a couple of months ago and the time is slowly coming - 14th of November (Friday) to 17th (Monday).

Of course, not only there are no matches that weekend, there's even a HUGE FUCKING HOLE in the fixtures, spanning a week before that and a week after

Anyhow, I'll still be visiting the Meazza, Duomo, Como probably and all the famous attractions. We'll be staying in Sarpi (Chinatown) so it's easier to go around on foot.

I'd be very thankful if you have any suggestions what interesting and 'not so popular' is worth seeing, some helpful tips like buying some kind of a tourist card for transport and attraction entrances or anything at all.

    Thanks in advance.

Visit the Solo Inter store in Via Berchet or something like that. It's just a 5 minute walk from the Duomo. There's a great panzerotti (fried bread) shop nearby too called Luini. Use Google Maps to plan your trip.

A panzo is more than fried bread lol. Although this is a necessity and you must eat one while you're there.

Obviously the Inter store, you might even catch Thohir buying something.

Be prepared for an expensive trip. A proper meal at a restaurant costs a lot. An arm, a leg and a dick, some would say.

Check out the restaurant El Brellin, and bring a lady with you. It's a 30 minute drive from the San Siro.

    Trust me on this one.

You see people from Colombia, Oceania, Ireland(i think) pretending that at least ONCE in their life they saw a young wc talent arriving and becoming a world star.

Just a idea: if you want a serious debate about football, you should block everybody from countries that NEVER will win nothing and NEVER will have a balon d'or, for example.
Whats the point about those guys opinions??? Can i go to some New Zealand chat and start to teach them how to recognize the better wc prospects among young Rugby players?
Again, if you NEVER saw a young wc prospect struggling in his first years, like Kaka or Ronaldinho who were booed by they local supporters here, how could you judge????

If you're going to check out Leonardo's Last Supper painting, don't just rock up to the joint on the day. I found that out the hard way...

If you get a chance take the train 30 minutes to Bergamo it's a beautiful city with an old town up top! Also, go to spontini pizza its great! I was in Milan around this time last year and the weather wasn't great but bring am umbrella and you should be good.

    +1 for Luini

There's also Princi by the duomo (from southwest corner of the piazza, one block down on Via Torino then a quick left). Good quick lunch. Their focaccia is

Parco Sempione is nice as is the castle. Makes for a nice walk. But to be honest you can walk through Milan pretty quickly.

For a nice ($$) sit down dinner try Cantina della Vetra south of the duomo.

The colonne nearby on Corso di Porta Ticinese is a good spot to have a beer in the evening (or whenever really). A little further down by Porta Ticinese are the navigli. Plenty of spots for aperitivo. Many of them have buffets (some better than others), so for the price of a drink you can also have dinner.

Shopping is expensive, but there's a giant outlet center an hour and a half north in Mendrisio, Switzerland (accessible by train). Not worth it if you're only in Milan for a short period.

Fyi, if you're going to Como, the trains from Cadorna and Porta Garibaldi both take ~1 hour, but those from Cadorna drop you off closer to the lake. The regionale from Centrale cost the same, take half the time but run less frequently (and don't drop you off as close to the lake, but still faster overall). The regionale trains are also managed by the Swiss, i.e. they're much nicer than the commuter trains managed by the Italians. The eurocity out of Centrale costs 10eur instead of 5eur and isnt any faster or nicer than the regionale.

Next time I'm there I want to make it over to Appiano Gentile. Will need to rent a car tho.

Enjoy your trip and fuck juve

edit: for transit, either get a booklet of 10 tickets or a two day ticket from the machines, depending on how much you want to walk vs/ride the tram/subway/etc. not sure how the normal transit cards work, but it took them a month to emit my student card and i had to go to a specific station in the north of milan to get it. a month for a metrocard :italy:
