    Martín Montoya

Martín Montoya Torralbo (born 14 April 1991) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a right back for FC Barcelona.

    Full name Martín Montoya Torralbo
Date of birth 14 April 1991 (age 24)
    Place of birth Gavà, Spain
    Height 1.74 m
    Playing position Right back

2014/2015: La Liga 8 matches / Copa del Rey 3 matches 2 assists / UEFA Champions League 1 match 1 assist

    Agent: ‘Montoya to Inter done’

Martin Montoya’s move to Inter appears to be a done deal, with his agent confirming he’s ‘happy to come to Inter’.

It was reported yesterday that a deal was close, with only final approval from Barcelona holding up the deal.

Now Calciomercato is reporting that Montoya will undergo his medical on Thursday, and carries a brief quote from his agent.

“Done deal. Montoya is happy to come to Inter.” Juan De Dios Carrasco is reported as saying.

The website states that the deal will be a two-year loan, with €1m for each year of the deal.

A mandatory buyout clause of €6m will be activated if the Spaniard makes a certain number of appearances.

This guy never plays, so I'm not even sure how good he is. However Ausilio or someone at the club must have a hard on for him because we seem to be always trying for him.

My guess is Chelsea won't let Filipe go because I'm sure we would want him first. I'm also sure we need a LB way more than a RB.

If we let Santon go who in our line-up or who would we go after to cover LB?

If we replace Santon with Montoya, if both figures are truth (€7.5 for Santon, €8M for Montoya) then it's not that bad, not an improvement either, though from what I've seem of Montoya he's better defensively than Santon. We still need a quality fullback, please get Jordan Amavi before Wenger does.

Nah, replacing Santon with Montoya is stupid,
I really want Santon to stay, he did good with us.

I quite like Montoya, especially compared to our other RB options.

I don't. Slightly better than Santon, in both attack and defense. Decent backup, but not a starter. And he wont leave Farca to be a backup.

one of the la masia product who shadowed by Dani Alves...
but which one in the world can go to Dani Alves level if only get few minutes,, and remaining on the bench..
everyone know Dani Alves is best right back , if not he is one of the best Right back in the world,,

now i know Montoya especially angry and sad with barcelona get Aleix Vidal ,,,
of course he want go to a club who offered he playing time,, and now Inter will grab him..

    is he good ?
not really i think ,, you can see other La Masia Product on 91 like Tello , Cuenca , Thiago , and other,,,
they failed to reach world class expectation ,,,
i think if we sign him , unlikely he become world class player.
maybe the probability will raise if he go to Atletico Madrid or Valencia maybe,,,
i think we better get Filipe Luis now,,,

Montoya not even top 20 Right back in the world , when Filipe Luis is already top 5 left back in the world

note :Montoya power is speed and skill and some technical ability to attack but not so good in defensively...
A man with a trophy he doesn't want.

So this is what "when an immovable object meets an unstoppable force" is all about.
We are not now that strength which in old days
    Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Judging by the words of barca fans a main problem seems to be confidence. Maybe a change in scenery could help him rediscover his old potential, like Alexis Sanchez
