As usual we have had an eventful mercato. From the low of losing our gem and fan favourite Kovacic, to the high of signing the highly rated Kondogbia over our beloved cousins, and everything in between.

I guess I will have to draw it randomly between 3 and 4

    jk,jk

I will have to go with 3 because they sold my boy KOVAAAAA! We did improve however but at what fucking cost?! Selling your talentino who could potentially explode even more...oh well another Cou case...we will be kicking ourselves we let go of Kova just as we are doing so with Cou(not all of us but most of us).and I liked Kova more than Cou tbh.
If Mancini fucks up I will be super pissed at him as he got all the 10 players he wanted!NO EXCUSES!

still lack creativity from deep midfield and we need to trim our fullback. i'll give 7,5/10.

Either 3 or 4, but nothing that we could not fix next summer. We just have to see how we'll do this year.

Its not a perfect mercato, but its a damn good one. One of the best in recent memory by Inter. Lets evaluate the INs & OUTs.

    TRANSFERS IN:
Ljajic (l), Telles (l), Melo, Perisic, Jovetic (lp), Biabiany, Montoya (lp), Kondogbia, Murillo, Miranda.

Like many have said, we were very active this time and have managed to give Mancini more or less what he wanted. Sure, we did not get some of his first choices, but thats bound to happen with financial constraints. I think Mancini will be pleased with what he has got. We have got about 5-6 players of reasonable quality who should start, and another 3 economical transfers (Melo, Telles, Montoya) who will at least give us good bench options if not start. I will give this aspect of the mercato a solid 7/10

    TRANSFERS OUT:
Schelotto (free), Belec, Andreolli (l), Hernanes, Taider (l), Kovacic, Shaqiri, Biraghi (l), Puscas (l), Longo (l), Camara (l), Bardi (l), Duncan, Krhin, Crisetig (lp), Silvestre, Pereira, Botta, Obi, Kuzmanovic, Benassi, Bianchetti (l), Campagnero, Felipe, Alvarez, MBaye, Jonathan.

This was the more impressive part of our mercato. Not just for getting rid of some surplus players, but more importantly for the 27 players we shifted OUT. That is crazy volume, and an impressive €90m+ in revenue.

Yes, we failed to (as yet) sell Guarin, Ranocchia, D'Ambrosio, Schelotto (had to cancel contract) & Nagatomo - which forced us to sell some players we perhaps did not want to sell. But we did source and accept offers for all 5 of the above players (which these players turned down), so it wasn't really a failure of the mercato team. So I will give this aspect of the mercato an 8/10

Our cash flows are more or less even this summer (about €90m coming in, and about €90m going out). I haven't yet analysed the wage impact, but will do so soon and post the overall financial impact of the summer. But its safe to assume that we have probably turned some profit this financial year from transfers (because transfer costs are amortised over the length of the contracts).

    Overall, a good summer = 7.5/10

Can't really tell. To tell the truth: On paper we have a very good team and I go so far that this team with this coach should be a title contender. On paper.

But then I see us playing and I miss the link between defence and offence. That, the sale of Kova and our inability to sell some deadwood: 3 or 4.

BTW: Never make a poll with an odd number of selection options. u_u

the main problem of the squad now is 1st. Lack of creative midfielder like Moutinho, Pjanic, Silva etc... and 2nd. lack of world class LB/RB ... I dream at winter mercato to sell Guarin, Ranocchia and Dambrosio and invest to player like Moutinho...

Good job by Ausilio and Fassone they sell 27 players for good money (only Shaqiri and Kovacic are good at that list) and get good Forwards and Defenders - the main problem last season! Good luck Inter 3rd place is for US!

This was a great transfer window. Losing Kovacic hurt but we brought in alot. My only complaint is that if you were to tell me that we could have made all the moves we made but kept Kovacic and NOT gotten Kondogbia... i would have said OK. But it is what it is and I think the moves this window set our club back on the right track. We also got younger and added some quality. Great window. I just hope all these guys stay healthy and gel well.

Regardless of whether I agree with every sale and buy I think the mercato was good and leaves Mancini with zero excuses. Its up to him to get CL now, no more this is not my squad, we don't have enough players, our players suck etc. etc. Its time to put up or shut up.

Go with a 3 I suppose. The sale of Kova was a sad one. We have very little creativity in central midfield so there's going to be days where this team will struggle mightily breaking down opponents that park the bus. Our attack looks pretty wonderful on paper though it must be said. The defense will be better simply by addition by subtraction. No more Nagatomo and Ranocchia is a good thing.

    I give it a 3/5

In what turned out to essentially be a replacement, Kondogbia in for Kovacic is not necessarily the massive shift everyone is up in arms about. Keeping Kovacic at all costs while not buying Kondogbia was equally a big risk. There was no guarantee he was going to develop into a world class player with us, he often looked frustrated in the last two seasons.

What really disappoints me is how we spent so much time and energy on Perisic, that it seems all other market operations were an afterthought. Now, of course, coaches like to bring along players they previously worked with to their new clubs. Just look at how many Empoli players went across to Napoli this window. But still, signing Melo and Telles doesn't particularly inspire confidence, especially in the case of Telles when he was a last minute panic-buy, when we are already brimmed with so-so fullbacks. Having failed to secure Zukanovic near the start of the window, and then later either Coentrao or Criscito, we shit the bed.

Another, albeit more understandable issue, was an inability to shift the deadwood out of the club. We simply had to accept we were taking a big hit when releasing Silvestre, and just put that behind us as a lesson learned and build from it. Now, with Taider, we understandably struggled given he did nothing of note during his time here, and raised question marks by getting sent home from England after only a few weeks. As for Schelotto...well, it depends a lot on who you believe. He says he was desperate to seal a move to Chievo, and that Thohir interfered and derailed the transfer. Either way, we could and should have handled that situation better, rather than ending up with another expensive golden handshake.

In a way, it's hard to put a fixed score on it so early. Much of the end figure will come down to whether bringing in Jovetic pans out for us or not. If he ends up like Giuseppe Rossi, spending far more time on the sidelines than on the pitch, we will look like idiots. If he is fit, bar a week or two out for little knocks, and he continues to be the difference maker in our team, we will look like geniuses, and he alone will drag that final score up.

The important thing to note is that, despite being deficient in certain areas, we have reached a point now where the puzzle can be completed with only a few additions, rather than lots. Many deficiencies have been seen to in this window, and now we wait only for the last pieces to fall into place - quality wingbacks, and midfield reinforcement.

Good point. We now have a base to build upon. Next summer, we can focus largely on few quality additions.

Schelotto didnt say anything of the sort, actually Chievo screwed him over because they didnt want Zukanovic to be in the deal and found another guy instead of him.
