Yeah saw that yesterday. I see they choosing teams based on their histories, which I think it's unfair to some of the low profile teams who are doing well at the moment and deserve to compete at the higher level. It wont happen anyway, 101% impossible.

Imagine all the TV money we'd get if this became a thing. Definitely a cool idea but there are many questions. For one, would there be any relegation system?
We are not now that strength which in old days
    Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

we would just be fucked to no end and the lack of domestic competition would ruin football for the smaller clubs who couldnt reach that level

Interesting idea. Something needs to change imo because the cl, especially the group stages, are a absolute fucking bore.

This seems like an interesting article explaining how a hypothetical super league would work:

Would be absolutely fantastic for clubs like us, Milan, Liverpool tbh lol

Maybe a way to compensate those less famous clubs would be to have 40 teams, 2 leagues, with a similar promotion & relegation system like the current domestic leagues.

I don't get it. Isn't that "38 match schedule" means that the teams won't play in their domestic leagues? Because otherwise these 38 games plus matches in domestic leagues + knockout playoff eventually. It seems too many matches for the players or there is something else?

There would be no domestic leagues if this came into fruitition. Not for the participating clubs at least.

Did you read the article Ronin posted?

This would be great if it happens. Inter would make much more money than they currently do and we can start buying superstars again!

I did, and I stand by what I said. It's a horrible idea.

And who cares how much money we'd make when we'll be getting destroyed week in and week out only to "drop down" to Serie A the season after. The "superstars" you think we'd sign would already be at other clubs in this league and would not want to come to Inter for anything but money which we wouldn't even be able to offer since all the other teams would have more money than us.

It'd also weaken European football for the sake of 20 "invited" clubs and a profit, which has already ruined the sport due it becoming such a disgusting monopoly in the past 15-20 years or so.

Then let's not try to make more money, let's not qualify for CL and let's just close down the club.

I highly doubt that, otherwise English clubs would no way in hell participate. Why would they when the PL is the envy of leagues around Europe? And I'd say they're essential for the success of this predicted league because it would leave a big gap that cannot be replaced with how big of a following those teams have and the prestige.

There's no way a 38 match competition could co-exist with domestic leagues. English teams breaking from EPL and going for the Super League would get even more money. If you think EPL clubs make a lot, the Super League would probably make twice that. Also just the fact that the club would be on it would attract so much talent.
