The correct response would have been to shelter those are vulnerable, and let life go on as normal. You won't be able to stop this. Even if you get down to a few cases in the entire country, those would re-infect people again. Most people will get this at some point.

People need jobs and money to survive. You can't shelter everyone indoors for months with no consequences.

Italy's CONSOB (regulator) bans short selling on 20 stocks tomorrow. Guess is that more will follow with this.

Tomorrow I don't think the US markets will manage to reach tbe closing bell. 20% down means no more Armageddon party for the day.

Thats what you get when you dont tighten money supply in good times to keep asset prices up

As i said before i think there s a lot of investors in these bonds that should not be in there cause they are/were reaching for yield.

Also wtf is that bs of banning short selling? Thats not gonna help anybody if anything thats gonna fuck up price discovery even more.

you know when I first I knew the world was in deep shit? Macedonian 30 year bond was trading at 4%.

    - - - Updated - - -

    30 year bond yield, 4 %

15 year bond yield, 2,9%. 1.1% spread for 15 years.

2 year bond at 1.1% with a fx clause 0.9%

and last but not least, 1 year t bills at 0.5%

Macedonia has a BB rating. Who the fuck was giving these rates?

    - - - Updated - - -

people were seeking yield and throwing money at anything

HAHA why the fuck are you looking at macedonian bonds?

But yeah i was searching for bonds last summer and pricing seemed way of either your taking huge risks for 4 to 5% or your yield is below expected inflation

Gonna buy GE today if it falls below $6.30. Could see me buying at $6.45 as well. Any views or other recommendations?

Will wait tomorrow for the Oil output before pulling the trigger on on Big Oil.

    FED going cray: https://www.federalreserve.gov/newse...20200317a1.pdf
creating an SPV to buy USD dominated comercial papers.

On GE man i m not sure it s just not a great run company the good thing is that there s no way the us wont help em out. Also i m not sure how big their hit from Boeing is gonna be or lets say not sure how big the generall hit from their plane engine business is gonna be. Seeing that a lot of orders got halted..
Also not sure it s such a great buy at a PE of 12.

Im still thinking FB around 150 is a pretty good buy long term.
Also before i re enter the market i would like to see one or two days where volatility is normal...Or atleast know how exactly the government help is gonna look as of now it looks like banks are pretty reluctant to hand out low interest loans especially to SME s even if after the influx of money. Also how will they help airlines? What will the airlines have to pay will they have to repay is it simply gonna be a low interest rate?
Also what many seem to forget people are gonna lose their job with or without gov help it will take the travel industry some time till they get back to pre corona levels and they wont stay overstaffed till then.
Also i think there s gonna be a lehman brothers some where in this crisis not sure if they ll go bankrupt during or after the crisis but i dont think the gov can bail everybody out to the point where they dont run into problems after the fact.

Also futures at 3 am this morning hit 4% plus at open they were barely positive and now s&P is up 5%, it s a silly silly market and nobody knows what they re doing

Would not be to worried about that, they re gonna come back down we ve not seen the last big drop yesterday imho .

i m still afraid that they might feel the need to close the markets at some point which would probably see another huge sell off.

I ve had these days since last week where is was like damn should have entered and 90% of them are trading way lower than last week.

Like we re still getting news out of all the industries of companies shutting production partially down or closing stores or having troubles delivering.

I also think it ll be kind of hard to start big fiscal stimulus with everything shut down........
Like can any big employment or building projects really be done when people are supposed to stay apart? Unless they just pour money towards the working class and the self employed but with republicans in charge i think thats gonna be hard.

I personally think the us is one of the worst prepared nations for this for a lot of reasons from health care system to their high debt levels of households to the number of gig workers to their social security programs. So even if prices start to look more attractive the new out of the us imho are gonna get worse before they get better and i dont see stocks being immune to that.
Also we still dont have a timeline for this thing china s been battling with it for 3 months and is still not over it from both the supply and the demand side.

It s a bit shitty that we cant really take clues from the chinese stock market as that one seems highly manipulated.

On another note the money flowing into peloton is hilarious, lets all invest into an loss making company that sells luxury training equipment that nobody needs. And that shit when we enter a recession.

Lol just read that trump actually said yesterday he s considering sending 1000$ to every citizen good start but if it s a one time action it s not gonna do much.

Oh I agree about GE. I just wanted to get this position and get it over with.

Also agree that the US could be hit a lot but I think they are one of the best readers of any situation so they could be able to combat it better than say the UK.

If GE doesn't fall tonight I'll just wait for tomorrow to see Big Oil movements and then make a decision by Friday.
Anyway, I'm not going to commit a lot of funds here, it's just something to keep me anxiously hopeful since the Bond market hasn't been pleasant lately.

GE has sold most its patents.... and is Is really badly run. They also sold most their business areas...... its a blue chip.... but I don't see it going to 30 anytime soon

honestly look at price/share and what it will be in the future and how far into the future. from 6 to 30 that means it is going to 4x its current price. 2nd post on this thread was me saying buy as it is a $28-33/share stock that was a long long time ago.

Again UTX still like it. I just bought a few 100 shares of LOW today it went to 65 from 120. Home Depot as well. Really bummed I waited on Walmart.

    Tomorrow looking at Disney
    VAR is some serious Bullshit!

    I'm looking at Delta.

American Airlines seems very cheap but in fact they're not worth it. It remains to be seen what actions the US government will take to save these guys and AA is the one that will benefit the most, but at the moment I feel like Delta is the healthiest of them all for a long term investment.

I know that General Electric is a mess, but I just cannot overlook this bargain price. I expect it to drop a bit more but at the end of the day when they restructure internally and sort their priorities it should be flying high.
But I understand that this is what basically every Milan fan thinks of his team once they sell 90% of their team.

The other dark horse I'm looking in this corona crisis is LVS. The casino business won't die, it's just a shock. It should go back to the $60s before the end of the summer.

So far my buying list is:
    General Electric
    Exxon Mobil
    Xerox
    Conoco Phillips
    LVS

    Also includes:
    Delta Airlines
    General Motors

I'm still debating whether Delta is a good idea or not yet as it'll be the last I do a deal on. May wait until next week. Same applies with General Motors. Not ready to pull the trigger either.
If I still have any funds available from the budget I pulled, then in addition, American Airlines will be my gamble.

Xerox should recover when this Work From Home madness ends. I feel like ConocoPhillips is the steal of the month. Would have gone Chevron but instead prefered Conoco as a shorter term investment due to an upside that I don't see Chevron meeting and at 1/3 of the price it seems like a better idea and it allows me to diversify my mini portfolio. And Exxon Mobil just screams obvious buy to me.

But as I said the other day, today is the day I make my Big Oil decision since I expect the WTI to go lower than $26. Currently is at $26.28 from $30something back when I made the post.

I don't expect to live with this money, this is just a "game" for me at this stage since it's not a big chunk of my funds that I'll be using and I'm just looking at potential opportunites for a medium term investment. I

    - - - Updated - - -

Also looking at United States Steel. Hit an all time low recently and I'm debating with myself if it's a good idea to gamble on a potential acquisition by someone. At 5ish bucks a share it can be worth the gamble.

I ll hold on to my short on airlines a tiny bit longer, yes the big ones will survive and yes they ll look like an incredible bargain down the road. But imho there s still some big obstacles mainly demand probably not jumping right back up and it will be seen if they ll have restrictions on letting people go because the state intervened but they ll have to downsize in order to stay profitable both on the personnel side and on the asset (plane) side. So imho the first couple of quarters are probably not gonna look to great for them. Also the drumpf admin is currently trying to increase the tariffs on airbus from 10% to 15% and the eu is currently still arguing a similar case against boeing in front of the wto and they ll retaliate once it s over. Increasing cost to airlines in a time they are in crisis anyways. Not sure how much effect it will have tough since i doubt many new planes will be ordered.

Looking at futures it does not look like markers will calm any time soon.
Xerox seems to be one of the better ideas i do wonder though what happens to the merger.

Conoco actually looks great expected them to be ridden of with short term debt when i saw the prices but that s not the case they should be easily capable to service their debt. Might also dip my toes i even though i m still very uncertain about oil prices.

Anyways i dont like one bit the new tensions that are building between us and china thats the last thing we need right now.

Also on a side note fucken elon musk somehow tried to get an exemption from cali to keep his free-mont factory running and initially got the fucken permit. Or at least thats what his HR chief said they wanted to keep the fucking factory running. Now cali is saying they re only allowed to keep minimum basic operations running. Now of course elo does not give a fuck and reports are he s running operations as usual.
This guy does not stop at anythng endanger people no problem as long as he can keep up his fucken scam. To think that so many people look at him as this semi god whos here to do good when he s doing the exact opposite is cray. FUCK ELON MUSK /rant over

Anyways gonna go over tencents FY report today hope to find some indication on how us tech will do in these times.
