Arjen Robben sending his younger self a letter. Very inspiring.

he'll probably end up at Bayern if he does really well this year.

That Pulišić goal reminds me of a certain Ronaldinho goal against Chelsea.

Bayern with their first defeat this season. 70+ possession and 20 more shoots they can't score a goal vs Hoffenhaim.

Gonna love to see this goal in derby.

Looks like Ancelotti is done with Bayern, rumors that it will end in Jan but more rumors that it will be in the summer.

Apparently Bayern will be hiring Hoffenheim's manager Nagelsmann.

Not surprised. I'm sure Bayern were just trying to finish off the Pep cycle with a CL win and assumed Ancelotti would deliver that.

Not sure what Bayern fans are saying, but this has been, at least imo, a bad spell for Ancelotti. Too many players have regressed under his tenure.

Bayern better be careful what they wish for, I have a feeling Nagelsmann is going to struggle. He is still only 30!

I don't care how much of a phenomenon you are as a coach. To control a locker room like Bayern's it takes experience and clout. Not to mention Bayern is an aging squad, a lot of those players are going to be older than him or very close to him in age. It shouldn't matter at a professional level but let's be honest, it does, footballers are human. Guys like Ribery are not going to take kindly to someone 4 years their junior and who wasn't a great player bossing them around.

If Bayern want to go in that direction I think they need to cull the old guard and go younger.

I think that's the point though. Pep was doing that; playing younger players, giving them opportunities, always scouting young talents (like he's doing with City). Ancelotti has basically reversed that, particularly with the whole robben/ribery v costa/coman thing.

Not sure I agree with Nagelsmann choice, but moving away from Ancelotti is what they need to get back to BOTH winning in the now and setting up for the future.

Yeah, Bayern wanted Ancelotti to win the CL. His league record is poor so it's good chance to win few leagues before leaving but Bayern as a club have declined and it coincided with losing their core players like Lahm, Schweinsteiger and ageing Ribery, Robben.

Tbh they played well against Madrid when it was 11 vs 11 but overall don't think they had a memorable performance in his tenure.

Agreed, he is fantastic young coach but Bayern players are all multiple league winners and many are CL/World cup winners and might be older than the coach. Not sure how he can control the locker room. Not only for Bayern but it's risky move for coach too. His reputation might take a massive hit, now he is on the rise.

One good thing Pep did was getting best our of Coman and Costa, now they don't have young wide players who is good quality. They should have gone for Sane but Ancelotti's record with young players make Jose look like Van Gaal.

Wolfburg came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Bayern. Bayern keeper made a blunder for the first goal. Bayern are struggling and their performances are average this season.

Carlo Ancelotti to depart Bayern Munich following PSG defeat - sources

Carlo Ancelotti is set to leave his role as coach at Bayern Munich, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.

The move follows Bayern's 3-0 humbling at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday -- their biggest Champions League group-stage defeat in 21 years.

The news is set to be announced in a news conference on Thursday afternoon.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge warned there would be consequences following the defeat, with SportBild reporting on Thursday morning that a meeting was due to be held later in the day to discuss Ancelotti's future.

Bayern assistant coach Willy Sagnol could reportedly take over from Ancelotti, who replaced Pep Guardiola as coach in 2016, while former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel has also been linked with the role.

Ancelotti won the Bundesliga title in his debut season at Bayern, but saw his side knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid at the quarterfinal stage and by Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Pokal semifinals.

A slow start to the new Bundesliga season has seen Bayern lose one and draw one of their opening six games to leave them third in the table.
