I agree that most likely he won't win anything besides Coppa Italia, but you never know. Roma is the biggest club he's ever managed which has a 2nd tier club mentality with its own circumstances. I'm interested to see if he has better potential with a bigger club plus more resources.

one thing is for sure: we can prepare ourselves to nearly endless press conferences. he always starts as if he wants to talk for 10 seconds then somehow goes on and on.

    - - - Updated - - -

by the way: a longer press conference will be held next wednesday at noon Italian time, while his first training session will be the third of july. it's on the site
My username has nothing to do with the player of liverpool fc, it is a reference to an Italian novel.

    Yupp.

Spaletti is a big name.Sort of anyway. He has been our rival for a long time and he has pushed us to the edge quite a bit. This is probably the best option we could have had.

I think he is very hungry to win the Scudetto. He realised somewhere last year he couldn't do it with Roma.Perhaps it was the direct sale of an asset to Juve in Pjanic itself but i do feel like he wanted to take a step up last season and his press conference during the Lyon game gave me the feeling he wanted to be sacked if they lost that game.He kept saying Roma are a big club and if we end trophyless I would have failed.I didnt think that was how Roma's management saw it.He was angling for a move out if his players could not deliver and in typical Roma style they choked.

What will become clear now is whether Spaletti himself is a choker or it is simply a Roma thing.

If he wants to bench Icardi then hopefully our management does not abandon him.He was very brave to not play Totti and he didnt always have support from the fans and mgmt in Rome for it.We must not make the same mistake.

After six years of shit I'd be very, very happy with the Coppa Italia and a 2nd or 3rd place.

He should be here AT LEAST 2 years, no more clowning around la Palermo. I do not give a shit if we have a bad stint, you won't get past it by starting all over. So fucking tired of these "Year Zero" every single year.

He's a proven coach and we have a decent troop, firing him won't solve shit when things go rough.

He'll be fine, he's not here to compete with Juventus for the Scudetto, and we shouldn't expect that, at any point in the season. As long as we have a realistic chance at 4th this season, he should still have a job. Him and Sabatini working together is promising.

Welcome Luciano! Finally a coach is hired and he can take us to top4. Without EL matches he has all the week to prepare and train these mofos well..( we have heard that before)

I want Spalletti to go to Appiano holding fkn 2 AK47s in his hands and just put these girls to some serious training, need to work our asses off this summer, no other way.
