I edited the topic's title a little bit, I hope you don't mind.

I have watched all 4 movies and my favorite, by some light years, have to be The Godfather. Al Pacino put in an incredible performance as Tony Montana in Scarface and despite all the bravado; Tony Montana was rash, hot-headed and not cool at all.

But in The Godfather, both Marlon Brando & Al Pacino, as Don Vito Corleone & Michael Corleone respectively, also put in incredible performances yet their characters is much more likeable. Both are reasonable man but to a certain extent, the latter is more dangerous than his father. Cool, calm, collected yet dangerous as f*ck. There is also the loyal godson that is Consigliere Tom Hagen, played to perfection by the legendary Robert Duvall.

Some great quotes from the trilogy:

"Never let anyone outside the family know what you're thinking" - Don Vito Corleone
"It's strictly business" - Consigliere Tom Hagen to Sonny Corleone after an attempt of murder on his father
"I don't want his brother to come out with his d!ck in his hand" - Sonny Corleone warning Caporegime Clemenza to plant the gun perfectly
"Keep your friends close, keep your enemy closer" - Michael Corleone
"If history has taught us anything, Tom, it is that no one in this world can't be killed" - Michael Corleone

And of course, the most famous of them all

"My father made him an offer that he (A movie producer) couldn't refuse. Luca Brasi held a gun behind his (A movie producer) head and my father guaranteed him that the contract will leave the room either with his signature or brain on it." - Michael Corleone telling tales about his father to his fiancee, Kay Adams

The Godfather. By the way, you should also get the novel since there are emotions of the characters that even the Pacinos & Brandos couldn't conveyed in the movie.

I think you mean ANYONE can be killed.

Scarface is my favourite movie, but Godfather has to be probably the best movie ever made.

I like Tony Montana, he's such a reckless character and I think he sums up himself best in this sentence.

"All I have in this world is my balls, and my word, and I don't break 'em for no one, jou understand?"

    Other famous quotes...

This is paradise, I'm tellin' ya. This town like a great big pussy jus' waitin' to get fucked." (Tony to Manny)

This one has to be the most famous...

"In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the woman." (Tony to Manny)

Well Primo, it's been a long time since I saw that movie but hey, I got the main part right.

As I've said before, Tony Montana is a great character. But he doesn't have that little extra, that aura of coldness with him that surrounds both Don Vito Corleone & Michael Corleone. It was of no surprised which one succeed more. Tony Montana & Luca Brasi under the leadership of Don Corleone will be the most dangerous tandem ever in the mafia world.

I haven't seen the movie itself, but I remember when the DVD came on, they had two movie critics talking about the game. They said the character wasn't great, and he had the wrong accent for a supposed Cuban!

I don't know how a Cuban sounds so it doesn't really matter to me.

Well Don Ham, I think many will think that Tony Montana is perhaps the best ruthless rough gangster movie character that has ever been made. He certainly is not classy though.

One that doesn't speak with an Italian accent! But those guys are fussy, I bet those who enjoy the movie don't notice he has an Italian rather than a hispanic accent.

Han, where is the shot of them attending the Opera? Or the one of them having a community barbecue?

It wasn't Italian, the accent that Pacino used when he acted as Montana. I know how Italian can Pacino be when he act because I have seen him act as Michael Corleone and his accent when he acted as Tony Montana was entirely different. But whether it was Hispanic or not, I honestly can't judge.

The Opera scene was shot in The Godfather Part III, which as Catanha has said, is known as the worst movie out of the trilogy. In my opinion, it was done straightly due to commercialism issue and done without any passion at all. Hence I didn't post it here. Also, Pacino doesn't look cool anymore as Michael Corleone. His hair style in that movie --->

The community barbecue...I don't recall such a scene from The Godfather trilogy. Unless you mean the wedding or the communion of Michael's first child. But I can't find those images in the net.

By the way, out of the 4 movies, why have you watched?

Damn! I was only kidding and it's true. All the shots were of tough guys, so I suggested to have Opera scenes and family BBQ as a joke to sissies. Perhaps I should've said: Where is the shot of them dancing ballet and discussing the latest Russian film

I saw part 1, and I was kind of forced to. I was sick with a cold, and had no power to do anything but watch TV, and I was wide awake at midnight. One channel was showing it, so I saw the movie.

I thought it was okay, but I still wanted to see the second part, which I've not done yet.

some of the most enjoyable movies I've watched have come under similar circumstances. You're watching TV, thinking about nothing... then a movie comes on late at night and you just watch it and it turns out to be good.

I downloaded Scarface though, and watched Godfather 1,2,3 on DVD because a friend let me borrow them. I was 14 when I saw them all.

Does anyone else here like The Sopranos?

    Both good sets of movies.

Scarface is a cult favorite, though not as good as either The Godfather or The Godfather Part Two, but still a very good movie. Pacino (an Italian-American) playing a Cuban is somewhat odd but he manages to pull it off.

Godfather Part Two, I believe, is the best movie ever, slightly better than the first just because of the outstanding job done by De Niro in his potrayal of young Vito.

A famous Godfather quote from the novel that you can't find in the movie.

"A lawyer with his briefcase can steal more than 100 men with guns," Don Corleone once said to Tom Hagen.

My own quote, "A woman with her seductive dress can steal more than 100 lawyers with briefcases."

    Scarface - The World Is Yours - (PS2 - XBox - PC)

Tony Montana Gets A Second Chance

Last time we checked, Tony Montana was lying face down in a pool of blood after being shot by an agent of a rival drug lord, Sosa. Rewing a few minutes and you're at the beginning of this "what if..." game, as Tony manages to kill his assassins, escape the mansion and set about rebuilding his empire. It could only happen in games...

To become kingpin again you'll need to make deals, smuggle drugs and launder your dirty money, all while avoiding the close attentions of your rivals and DEA.

Completing missions will allow you to buy new property, opening up different areas in Miami, the Florida Keys and the Bahamas.

Gameplay is similar to GTA: Vice City's mix of on-foot shooting and driving. Since it could be argued that Vice City ripped off the Scarface movie in the first place, this could be yet turn out to be poetic justice. Trucks, boats and planes are among the vehicles at your disposal, and sometimes you'll need to man weapons whilst another drives.

Al Pacino tops the heavyweight cast lending their voices and likenesses to the game. Steven Bauer, who played Manny Ray, is the only other original cast member. James Woods, Michael York and Cheech Marin are among the Hollywood stars enlisteed to give the game extra star appeal.

Hot lead death comes via a novel shooting system whereby you move a pip within the target for pinpoint accuracy once you get a lock-on. You'll also be able to deal more damage by filling a rage meter as Tony gets increasingly pissed off. A nice touch, we're sure you'll agree.

Jonathan Todd - From PSW Magazine

This sounds great to me! I love the idea of the flashback, and the rage meter is pure genious!!
