Yeah fair enough, day in, day out women's hoops prob takes the cake.

I was specifically thinking of Women's World Cup and Olympics - in my experience, that's more popular than, for example, NCAAW Final Four or the WNBA Finals.

Anyhow, I'm sure there's a lot of regional variation, as in all things USA. I'm from Miami, where soccer has huge popularity in part due to the South American & Caribbean influences (tho baseball is definitely bigger in Cuba, DR, Puerto Rico, & Venezuela). Somewhere like e.g. Nebraska (random guess), I think soccer might be considered a women's sport.

funny thing is, for some reason, there is a part of Italian culture that thinks volleyball is the most suited sport for women, because there is no contact, as opposed, for instance, to soccer/football.

I distance myself from this thinking, but as you guys may know, the former president of italian amateur football league (LND, to which in italy women football belongs) Felice Belloli said "we should stop giving money to a bunch of lesbians".

that was during a council meeting, he denied but there were too many witnesses and had to resign.
My username has nothing to do with the player of loserpool fc, it is just a reference to an Italian novel.
