Wouldn't oppose his extension if it means we're getting rid of Vecino and Gagliardini. Valero seems like super fit guy for his age suddenly and he seems to fit to Conte's ideas.

It would also mean Agoume goes on loan so Valero would be the 7th guy. He'd need to take a pay cut obviously to make any sense of the extension.

We should reward him.. with a surprise goodbye party to thank him for his services. Maybe with cake and balloons if we get that extra €10m from finishing 2nd.

If we have a young midfield composed of Tonali-Sensi-Barella next season, Borja can be their tutor. Just read the game on the sideline for 70 mins. Then come on and restitch the midfield together.

    No.

We won today by playing around him, not with him. If I see him go up for another header I might do the same off a cliff.

Smart game from him imo. Should have been subbed for Eriksen sooner but that's Conte for you.

He was invisible tonight. He can't match the speed needed to go toe to toe with Napoli's compact football. Not his fault, the heart wants and the mind knows how to, but legs are giving out.

First time I would give an N/A for 88 minutes of play.

Found him decent, he recovered many balls, which is very important.

I think that he was the biggest pain in the ass of Napoli midfield tonight.

He was awful in the first half. Didn't run at all for fuck sake. If Valero doesn't run and press, why he's there? I remember very well one chance when Napoli got a shooting chance right in front of our box, totally free, Valero was WALKING within 5 meters distance, and it wasn't some surprise bounced chance, but the player got the ball, Valero just didn't react at all, let the guy take his shot all by himself.

I really hope this is just some shit by Conte to save Eriksen for EL matches when there's more space or something I don't know. If Valero is exhausted and doesn't run, he is plain useless.

That touch from the high kick-out was just ridiculously good.

Anyway, like Brozo AMC is not his best, he's better behind the ball too.

Still, he obviously shouldn't be starting ahead of Eriksen.

He was exactly the same when he was 28 though.

Yeah but with more athleticism and balance, which equals a class player
