Well, let's wait for the results of the medical exams. It certainly looks damn serious if he cried.

Imagine Suning on the last day of the mercato, realizing they sold too many defenders. Emergencial solution: promote Vanheusden.

Now imagine me after the Vanheusden injury, realizing Ranocchia may actually play at any moment. Emergencial solution: Xanax.

same here - hope he is ok and recovers quickly.

off topic: your signature just reminded me of how perfect that midfield was in our treble winning year for the 4-2-3-1. Wow. Cambiasso to clean up, bust up play and protect the defense, motta to receive the ball and trigger the ball/movement through the midfield and sneijder to just pick our the perfect pass or dribble up himself and unleash a rocket shot. Man, such great attributes for the players in each position.

now we keep trying to put player square pegs into position round holes. Don't have a real DM, don't have a real AM. damn

according to sempreinter.com (article linked down, in English), which quoted Sky Italia, it seems to be an ACL tear. a clear response will only arrive tomorrow. I guess Inter's medical stuff is their (I mean Sky italia's) source, or at least someone on the club who talked to the doctors.

The tests performed on Zinho Vanheusden have revealed that the player has a sprained anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The defender will undergo surgery in the coming days.

    That was from inter.it

sprained ACL isn't as bad as torn I guess - but its a long recovery.

Pina had a great instagram post for zinho - and a super awesome message wishing him recovery and that the team needs him. I hope both these guys get a chance at inter and become huge stars here.

stay srtong Zinho, we are supporting you

Inter have officially confirmed that Zinho Vanheusden has suffered a cruciate ligament injury.

The youngster was stretchered off in tears during yesterday’s UEFA Youth League match against Dynamo Kiev, immediately sparking fears of a serious injury.

The Belgian is Coach Luciano Spalletti’s fourth centre-back, so a serious injury leaves only Miranda, Milan Skriniar and Andrea Ranocchia.

“The tests performed on Zinho Vanheusden have revealed that the player has a sprained anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee,” the Nerazzurri confirmed on their official website.

“The defender will undergo surgery in the coming days.”

Poor kid, this is the absolute worst moment in a career to have an injury like this. Making the step from youth football to senior football is always tricky, now when he comes back he’ll be a 18-19 year old fresh off an ACL injury with no real professional experience. We’ll no doubt loan him out and he will have to prove to some coach who barely knows him that he deserves an opportunity to play himself back into form.

Tough going from here on out

What a blow. Just as he was gaining momentum with his NT and valuable mentoring from Miranda, this happens. Hope he is able to get back at 100% and pick up where he left off. Get back soon kid!
