this guy was born for the 3-man line.

My username has nothing to do with the player of liverpool fc, it is a reference to an Italian novel.

He excels in those long-range passes. I remember him delivering some very good ones throughout the season though.

Still there is room for improvement on minor details because this is where the difference is made on important/decisive matches. However he's very talented and also can say that he is well matured beyond his years.

What a fucking pass to Eriksen in that goal. And of course he was the assist man in Lukaku goal.

Another good performance, probably one of the first on the starting lineup for the next 10 years for Inter.

He is soo good. But, we still do not know how he play in a 2 CB formation. He is the one the most benefit from Conte's 3 CB formation. He look calm, good feet with ball, and even providing decent support in attacking.

That's what we were saying about Skriniar not that long ago

It’s my opinion that Skriniar would do just fine if he had de Vrij’s spot in that back 3. But alas for him, the Dutchman has cemented himself in the starting XI.

He might do well defensively. But De Vrij is far better in the playmaking aspect. And of course, Skriniar has not been a goalscoring threat from corners for 2 seasons now.

Although Skriniar is my favorite player I have to agree with you. De Vrij is much and much better on the ball then Skriniar. Skriniar is better in defending but the CB in this 3 man formation should be very good with the ball so Skriniar should only play as a LCB or RCB.

Skriniar is the only CB who can't go forward, usually it's De Vrij and Bastoni/Godin who can go forward. I remembered Inter-Lazio last year when i was at the stadium and saw Conte screaming and weaving to Skriniar to go back to the middle line because the other 2 CB's where already going forward.

Is he though? I d argue that Skriniar has been a way bigger defensive liability than de vrij this season for sure and arguably even last season skriniar made more mistakes that cost us a goal.
I love skriniar but de vrij has been better in every aspect this season.
Which matches do you feel more, those with Juventus or Milan?
"With Milan, without doubt. And I don't like the Rossoneri fans either because they have a way of behaving, particularly when they win, that I don't appreciate."

This season De Vrij was rightly voted best defender of the Serie A, without a doubt. But the 2 seasons before Skriniar was most def one of the best defenders, and if he has his normal form back I'm quite sure he is our best defender alongside Godin (purely talking about defending).

Skriniar is a bigger defensive liability because he has to play the RCB position while De Vrij can play the CB position, which is much more "protected" position in terms of having to get to deal with pure 1v1 situations against pacy wingers.

Dude has been playing on wrong position for a season and everyone has forgot how good he was.

I don't think anyone has forgot how good Skriniar is in "his" position, one of the two central defenders in a 4-man line.

But it has become clear that bastoni - de vrij - Godin Is the best trio we can count on, at least for the rest of this season.

Especially bastoni and de vrij have been excellent.

That is definitely true now as Godin has showed very good performances lately.

Godin has been great lately, even at RCB. It takes a real champion to adapt to such a different role at 34. However IMO our best defence right now is: Bastoni - De Vrij - D'Ambrosio.

I am not against this 5 man defence Conte has been playing recently, and it does make sense in KO games, but this is not sustainable. We can never win Serie A with this, we will need attacking WBs.

What a game from Bastoni. He’s so calm with the ball.

He cover’s his area and cleans up after gagliardini.

I wanted alaba in his position......but..... no thank you.
