I want us to troll Milan and Juve by waiting for them to name their teams Milan B and Juve B and we'll just name ours Inter 2.

But no2 could mean we're shit, but these past 7 years Inter 1 was a major 2 so but I digress.

I've said it in the past, I'll say it again. Inter needs to get a deal for the Arena Civica. Put the 2nd team and the women's team there and use the space for Inter promos and merchandise. Best "Milano Siamo Noi" campaign. Great tourist trap as well.

If you have 5 appearances in the first team you cant play in the B team? That rule doesn't really make sense.

    B-teams are official.

    some details:
    - only from serie A teams
    - play in serie C, use spot left open from team(s) that do/can not meet criteria for participation (every years there are some, usually lack of funds)
    - ranking-system of who can participate still not established (my guess it will go by serie A ranking or, if we are lucky, Primavera ranking)
    - can be promoted to B, not to A
    - will not be relegated to serie D. in that case, they are simply eliminated and can participate again to serie C if there is an open spot

    - roster of 23 eligible players,
    - 19 players must be born not before 1996 (basically under 23), thus 4 with no age limit
    - 16 must have been affiliated with FIGC for 7 seasons
    - unlimited moves with A team
    - after 5 games in serie A, a player is not eligible for the B-team anymore

Well it got me thinking as well but if you see it through it does make sense.
First of all the rule says if the player plays 5 matches in the league the 1st team plays , so in Serie A than he cant play in the league of the B team.

5 matches is not a small amount. Just realize that Pinamonti has been called up in every fucking match and has played like 15 minutes overall. If we actually trust a kid to play 5 matches for us then it means he is already ready so playing him in Serie C would have no sense any more.

Ps. It would be slightly different if the B team got promoted but please do not think that is going to be easy in anyway. What Barca B has done for some years is not common at all.

Bear in mind that people like pinamonti will be playing for the B team and thus called up less for the first team. No more random appearances for 10 minutes - it'll be when he's ready to breakthrough or we have injury issues

i'm not particularly fond of second teams per se, as i feel they kind of spoil their leagues to an extent. but i feel physical pain in watching our best primavera guys waste their time (either at primavera or on the bench of the first team), so second teams are very welcome.

i'm pretty sure our second team will make it to serie b in one season, two tops. then in serie b it will be perfect for the best ones to stand out.

serie c is probably a tad too easy but in all honesty i feel that even that is better than primavera, as you have to face 30 y.d. guys ready to do anything to stop you.

the sooner these guys hit their face on real football, the better.

This 5 appearance in Serie A limit? Is that a season or overall? Also, how many teams on average don't qualify for Serie C? Like two? So it will likely be Juventus and Napoli?

    1) This year there were 5 teams which didn't make it. Como , Latina , Mantova, Messina and a team i've never heard of Maceratese.
    2) B teams will be introduced on request , the criterias of selection betweeen those that request such right has not been shared until now but for sure it has nothing to do with Serie A standings. Maybe it can relate to Primavera standing at max. In addition De La is even agains the B teams anyway so Napoli for sure won't be one of the contenders.

    3) It is not only the B teams which will replace the ones who don't make it this year. It is a different level of pick order like the following:
*1st team which doesn't make it will be replaced by a B team
*2nd team which doesn't make it will be replaced by an existing team that has been relegated during the season
*3rd team by a team from a lower league , some kind of lower league (i am not clear on this since after serie C there is amateur football as far as i know so they can't play in pros)
*4th team , start over from B team once more

This kind of picking will be valid only for next year btw...

This is more an opportunity for the likes of Tassi , Rivas , Bakayoko , Palazzi , who have gone on loan year after year in teams like Salernitana and co where they can't find the quality of training Inter staff and structures can offer nor the trust.
I think it will be a mix of both type of players. B-team is considered a step up from primavera, so its unlikely primavera players will be against the idea. They will be players for Inter B in a senior league with all of Inter's infrastructure to support them and a coach who is focussed on developing them. Thats much better than going on loan to some Serie B team, living in a village with poor infrastructure where the coach/club rather focus on developing their own players. For e.g., even talented players like Rafinha and his brother Thiago spent years at Barcelona B in the Segunda Division, as did Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets, and even Leo Messi.

I have always been in favour of this - it gives the club's youth a stepping stone from the primavera to the senior side. One of the reasons why we have not been able to develop any of our primavera talent is because the gap between youth league and the top end of Serie A is too big. With the b-side, the youth get some valuable experience to adapt to playing against adults, which is physically a big step up from primavera.

The real benefit of this will come when Inter B gets promoted to Serie B. So I hope the club takes this very seriously.

A man with no managerial experience and has actively said he has no desire to ever manage, just because of the success of zidane and guardiola?

It's not like Serie C is the playing ground for world class veteran managers. Also, I had no idea he said that. If anything, I only read he was doing the course in Coverciano.

I'm with Black Knight on this, I'm like 99.99% sure I remember pictures being posted on here of him doing the damned course at the refereeing school or whatever. Unless that was someone else? It'll probably be on his thread.

I have said this for some time, if I have to bet on one player who will make a good coach, I bet on Cuchu. He always seemed to have an eye for tactics, always directing players. And being an Inter legend, giving him the b-side would be an easy choice for both parties. Of course, this means that Cuchu will have to coordinate with Spalletti regarding the framework - it won't be optimal if the Inter b-side plays with a completely different philosophy to the main team.

where do you get this? he always said he was going to be a coach, and became officially one graduating from coverciano last year.

besides he was alread y a coach on the field.
i have never seen a player who seemed more of a natural in the coaching position, and i hope one day he will coach Inter

if we could get him to coach InterSeconda it would be great, although i think Vecchi is already slotted for the job

I think some of you guys are a bit too optimistic about how our youngsters would fare in Serie C. You seem to take for granted that a team composed exclusively of u21 kids would walk the league and then settle permanently in Serie B.
This reform is modelled after the Spanish system, so it's only fair to take a look at the Spanish Segunda Division to get an idea of what to expect. There are currently only two B-teams competing in the second-tier of Spanish football (Barça and Sevilla) and they are currently sitting in 20th (battling to avoid relegation) and last place (already relegated). If you take a look at the third tier groups, you will find that Real Castilla, Atletico B and Valencia B all finished nowhere near the play-off spots...
The prestigious badges on the kids' chests don't help them win games.

That being said, it's still an intelligent way to allow Serie A clubs to develop their talents without having to loan them around in the hope that the club they end up to actually intend to play them.
