D'Ambrosio is actually one of the more two legged players, this is why he plays both left and right flank. Similarly, Nagatomo as well.

We can't expect all players to be like that.

Asamoah, despite making a bit mistake because of this very reason, still continues to try the same thing despite having a more simple pass with his right foot. The reason it becomes an 'under pressure situation' is because he takes time to get the ball back on his favoured foot which means he's no longer able to make the much simpler right foot pass that he could've earlier.

Kudos to the guy. Started the game as a winger , went on to be the playmaker in the midfield duo and finished up as left center back in a back 3.

Yup, I agree. While his consistency of performance has been disappointing, he is still a very good signing. He was free, he works hard with no complains and he can potentially give us cover for 2-3 roles. He is good quality as a squad player, we just need a better left back.

While I very dislike Icardi’s acts, but this is quite unfair because you have to factor quality too. Icardi has been our top scorer for few years. Asamoah is 30 and his salary is about 2m, it’s not like he is earning a little.

Also, ability of playing in different positions doesnt mean shit if he is average in all those positions.

My username has nothing to do with the player of liverpool fc, it is a reference to an Italian novel.

He might be able to play in multiple positions but it doesn't follow that he'll be any good there, which he wasn't, except for CB, where he looked alright. Still, a valuable player.

Totally. Also this cheaky diving all the time in every contact (and sometimes inventing the contact) gave us so much today.

That’s what I’ve been expecting him to bring us since we signed him. He should be helping us close out games like today since he’s so used to being a winner.

Yup, his experience showed in winning all of those fouls - plus we all know the refs are going to buy it given his previous club

Am i the only one who think Asamoah would be much better playing just above the defence? He is a good left back, probably the best we have, but his core skill sets make him such a quality central midfielder. He has a great first touch, plenty of passing range and vision, and solid tackle.

Perhaps he should go back to his roots next season? I know during the pre season friendlies we used him as a central midfielder, and he did really well.

He's never been a great full back but he was a very strong midfielder, so yes. He is best suited in the middle.

Good game. One of the few positives last night. Looks like he's put his injuries behind him plus growing in confidence.

Surprised no one mentioned this guy was a monster last night, that sequence where he rolled the ball back onto his foot to flick it in between to players and then slalomed past another 2 to get the shot off was the best offensive dribble we've seen from a fullback since Maicon

He was the worst player in the first half. He was pretty good in the second.
