There was a good thoughts about this statement by Ausilio in Gazzetta dello Sport. How we sent a message of not being a supermarket out there but also sent a public message to Lautaro. Ausilio said he we rely on him, he's our star and our future, we don't sell our star players. That should put some pressure to Lautaro to understand he's at Inter still, he can't dream about Barcelona at this point. You have a long contract, there's a release clause but that's it. Don't expect the transfer to happen, just concentrate on the present. We rely on you.

Barcelona has been trying to play their usual media game through the Catalan sports papers for months. But it's so far from the reality how this situation is since Inter indeed is not going to get forced to sell. They try to lure the player to facilitate the move (like they've done numerous times in the past) and Ausilio's statement was a response to that. Hopefully it pays off.

Can I just say that the punditry suggesting that its inevitable or a done deal over the last couple of weeks has absolutely shitted me. The only thing that has pissed me off even more is the Racing Club President saying that a deal is close and that they will be able to use the money to build a school. Those kind of comments really pissed me off.

I have read so much shit about Martinez that I simply cannot wait for the season to restart. I also hope he has his head screwed on right and that he gives everything he has for Inter without having an eye on a move to Barcelona.

Make nice contract for him and explain that Messi have another 2 years and he's done. With new stadium, tax reliefs in Italy and Chinese money we will probably surpass Barca in 5 years.

They are in chaotic moment with elections, economical and political situation in general.

Haha 5 years we will surpass Barca

We can’t triple his wages and shouldn’t.

But if Barca can bring him up to 15 million than they can give us his release clause and not dick us around.

    70 million + Coutinho
    VAR is some serious Bullshit!

We can triple his 1.5m€ base salary. I read Barca's offer is 7.5m€ base salary with rising component throughout the contract. We can't get there but cc suggested, if they have so much money for his contract, they better just find the money for the release clause then. This should be explained to Lautaro agent if he starts to moan about the transfer. That's what the release clause is there for. For buyers to come in and buy the guy when Inter don't want to let him go.

Of course we could get close to that figure but the issue is that we don't want to. We are eager to cash him in.

Yes technically we can pay like 30m€ but then our squad would be a bit thin.

What I meant is we cannot offer Lautaro same kind of contract as Barcelona do, if the base salary keeps rising to 10m€ then all the added bonuses on top of that. And all this without the tax reduction like it is the case with our big earners Lukaku and Eriksen. We don't have such revenue streams yet to accommodate such salaries.

Lautaro is our star player but he's still so young that we cannot give him same kind of contract.

I agree that we are fascinated by the plusvalenza in his sale, but I hope Barcelona cannot make it with their sales and the management "needs" to keep him.

According to Pedulla, we offered 5m per season to Lautaro but he rejected it.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano in his article on Guardian:

Barcelona are refusing to give up on their pursuit of Internazionale’s Lautaro Martínez despite the Serie A side saying that any club interested in the Argentinian would have to pay the full release clause of €111m (£99.6m). The two clubs have been in discussions for more than three months about a possible move for the highly rated 22-year-old Martínez but the Inter sporting director, Piero Ausilio, told Sky Sports Italia on Wednesday night that they do not want to sell him.

“We want Lautaro to be part of our future. He will not be sold, unless the release clause is met,” Ausilio said. “Barcelona know this and so do the other clubs who have contacted us.”

Barcelona are refusing to give up, however, and the Guardian understands that the two clubs are carrying on talks and that the Catalan club are weighing up an offer of €90m plus one player as a makeweight.

    Mundodeportivo today:

"Lautaro will be done at the end of July
The 111 million clause expires the first fortnight of July and Barça, with the ‘yes’ of the crack, does not flinch at the notice of the DT of Inter"

Barça has not been moved by the statements of Piero Ausilio to Sky Sports and in which the technical director of Inter referred to the clause of 111 million to all the suitors of Lautaro Martínez, with the Blaugrana club at the top.

The Catalan position has a simple explanation and even an advantageous position. Having, as it has, the agreement with the footballer for the next five seasons, if Inter insists on scrupulously applying the clause, the solution is a matter of time. Let the first two weeks of July pass and that obstacle will be gone. In other words, the Argentine will no longer have a clause and will have a market price."

Advantageous position? Barcelona board have learned nothing from the Verratti/Rabiot/Neymar sagas. Having an agreement with the player means jack shit if you can't find an agreement with his team. Especially when he has 3 years left in his contract. Inter also had an agreement with Vidal in January but he's still at Barca.

Yeah, unless they persuade Lautaro to push for the transfer, nothing is going to happen.

On the other hand would be idiotic from Lautaro's side to start pushing for the transfer by sulking etc. He can potentially ruin a lot of stuff for himself by doing so. At least that how it should be, specially now that we have a strong leadership and owners. There's a lot of left of his contract so he can keep playing for that 1.5m€ base salary. It's possible he starts to think twice before rejecting those renewal offers where he triples his wages.

But Inter need to prepare for everything. We need to have deals ready in place if the agreement with Barcelona starts to get closer (like if they can sell Coutinho somehow). No matter what, our management needs to stay strong. They cannot allow themselves to be pushed around in the transfer market by Barcelona's usual tactics.

He won't come this year, and signs of massive decline of both your team and Messi can changes his opinion.
If he does not leave this summer, which I'm expecting he doesn't thank to the coronavirus, he'll probably end up extending.

Barca should just activate the releaseclause if they really want him!

Theres 45 days until the clause ends. First 2 weeks in July.

Plenty of time to sell many of their recent grandioso flops to fund Lautaro @ 110M , 10M going to Racing.

I mean if they can pay 140M for Dembele, 150M for Coutinho , 120M for Griezmann, 20M for Braithwurst you can find a nice 110M agreement with Marotta. Its not that hard.
