As i said before 65m+De Jong is a fair deal. There is still some distance between Inter and Barcelona over Lautaro Martinez according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Sport.
Barcelona have been courting Lautaro for several months now and as per this report they want to pay no more than €65 million plus one player for the highly rated 23-year-old Argentine national team player.
Inter are however holding out for at least €85 million for Lautaro, who still has around three years left on his contract with the Nerazzurri club.
The report adds that Barcelona are prepared to let Arturo Vidal leave for free to join Inter as a gesture to facilitate negotiations between the clubs over Lautaro.
Sport also go on to claim that Lautaro’s representatives will be in Milan in the coming days to take stock of their client’s situation with Inter management.
Manchester City are also interested in signing Lautaro but the player has already agreed terms with Barcelona and has his mind set on a move to the Camp Nou.
Lautaro communicated his desire to move to Barcelona to Inter back in June and the report concludes that the coming days will be key when it comes to whether there is the possibility for a move to happen or not
Marotta when the fax arrives...

I did it all for the nookie
They need defenders. All of our top 3 CBs would walk into their starting line-up.
Sky Italia: Lautaro Martinez agents are coming to Italy. Barcelona contacted again Inter to re-start official talks for Lautaro, but he's now considered "out of the market" as Inter director Ausilio said. No chance at the moment. Barça are now in contact with Depay agents.

"When I had just become President, I went to Austria for our match. On the stadium billboard it was written: 'Inter Milan'. I went to report to the manager of the opposing team that it was enough to leave Inter. So they canceled Milan "

Why are his agents coming to Italy then, the renewal? 80m or more I'd take it. I don't think he'll ever be as good as a Suarez. But only if we have a replacement lined up, which we won't.
Edit, though not for Barca now for being such cunts.
Schira - #Inter are ready to extend #LautaroMartinez’s contract until 2025 (€6M/year). Nerazzurri are confident to reach an agreement in the coming days. Talks ongoing. #Barça have hijacked their target on Memphis #Depay
According to Francesc Aguilar of Mundo Deportivo, the deal for Lautaro is totally frozen. Barcelona can't even afford to make the same offer they did pre-covid (65m plus Firpo) let alone satisfying Inter demands who have no intention to change their stance in negotiations.

Thank fuck we're apparently finally putting our foot down and keeping a forward who's not over 30 and can pull something out of his ass, creativity-wise.
I'm glad for Depay. As a semi-informed Inter-centric fan he slipped of my radar after ManUtd, but now he'll have another chance at what is commonly considered top level. (I do recognize his career has already been great withou my approval)
How come Barca already negotiated with him? Isn’t that something we can go to Fifa for?
Like when he had a contract clause if they paid it fine.
But they have been unsettling our player for almost a year now
Obviously he isn’t going to take 5-7 million from us(he doesn’t deserve it till he is more consistent) if he can get fking 15 from Barca!!!
But if they have that much for his wages they should have enough to pay us!!
VAR is some serious Bullshit!
That happens all the time. Agents race the contract terms and salary by first going to other clubs, gather offers, then come to your club and show this is what we've been offered. Then Marotta tells them but no one is willing to pay the release clause. So let's talk.
It's all done via intermediaries, which is allowed as it is all unofficial talk. FIFA is allowing this by sort of overseeing these agents, it's their doing to a large extent.
Ideally they'll ban football agents from being a thing and use only registered domestic law firms for this and they start implementing 6+5 or 15+10 rules to eliminate the whole football bazaar situation with all the money laundering, constant player movements and lack of faith to and from clubs towards players and vice versa.

They have been talking about buying him since last November and have made us 0 offers. They are just going do you want X/Y/Z player? We are like no 110 million or go eat a bunch of baby dicks!!!
I mean I feel like if we acted this way we would have gotten in trouble
VAR is some serious Bullshit!
I would accept 10mil, keep Firpo or whatever the fuck his name is, if Bartomeu fucks a pig in public. Like in Black Mirror.
I raise, if he lets Messi fuck him in public.
in principle its tapping up but no one ever really goes for it.
before you negotiate a transfer fee (which can take a while and require substantial commitment), you should know if the player is interested and reasonably priced. That's the purpose of it, tbh.
