The only thing that we know is his words and he seems to be in favor of Marotta.
Moratti also thought hiring Lippi would be a great idea.

Just because Lippi was a failure doesn't mean Marotta will be one too.

Also, I wasn't talking about whether Marotta is good or bad. What I was saying was that you portay yourself as a knowledgeable person in Italian football and mock others by saying shit like this:

People need history lessons. Provided time, I will make a dedicated thread on Calcio, some important parts of its history and how Italian football works, based on empirical evidence.

Can't believe that I said that this needs to be done in an Inter forum. Seems like only a fraction here have the comprehension of what goes on in Italian football and how the system works. Hopefully Suning is not part of this crew.
Yet, the biggest Inter fan out there, the one who has spent nearly a billion euros on the club, the one that knows more about Italian football than you and I combined and probaby the rest of this forum, doesn't agree with you and realizes that business is business. If getting Marotta or whoever is good for the club then the past is irrelevant.

I'm not outright saying you're wrong but I am going to say that this is some hardcore "appealing to authority" you're doing here. Just because Moratti thinks it's a good idea, doesn't mean for certain that it is. At this point, he's just another person with an opinion, just like the rest of us.

I think Moratti has literally proven during his Inter tenure that he doesn't think with his brains; just chases success by flavor of the month.

Marotta's signing would not create conflict with current Inter directors

Contacts have been constant after the first meeting that took place on Monday on October 1st in Milan. Zhang invited Marotta after the shock announcement that the Juventus director was going to leave the Bianconeri and sources said that Zhang was struck in a positive way after the first chat.

Beyond Marotta’s managerial skills - it is evident considering his accomplishments over the past several years - Zhang Jr. was also particularly interested in understanding if this new appointment could have created conflict with those who are currently in management such as Antonello, Gardini and Ausilio. That doubt was swept away. And now, Inter are waiting for Marotta to end the contract with Juventus and as the same time, Suning owned club is working on the technical and economic aspects. Both sides are polishing last details.

I don't want Marotta because Moratti wants him. I couldn't care less about who Moratti wants at Inter.

Brehme is saying that the fans who want Marotta don't know the history of rivalry and he wants to give us a history lesson. I was just pointing out that getting Marotta has nothing to do with history and it's just pure business. With Moratti I just provided an example of a person who knows the full history yet understands that the good of the club must be put first.

    Agnelli: ‘Marotta vital for Juventus’

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli thanks the departing Giuseppe Marotta - “he was instrumental in the growth of the club”.

The general manager and CEO will not be on the new board appointed at today’s shareholders’ meeting, and his contract is expected to be resolved in the coming days.

“For the next challenges, we decided to renew the Juventus leadership,” Agnelli told the 302 shareholders present.

“The organisation model will not change and will be based on three pillars: services, revenue and, centrally, sport.

“However, I owe my thanks to the two outgoing directors: [CFO] Aldo Mazzia, who is here with us today, and Giuseppe Marotta.

“Aldo joined the group in 1987, he was hired by my father and that’s the curiosity of this closing circle.

“He rose from positions of administration and control to become CFO. He was key in developing the stadium and the Continassa project, which he personally followed.

“If today we can boast of having headquarters next to our own stadium, a state-of-the-art training ground, a hotel and a concept store, then we owe it to Aldo.

“For that, Aldo, now only I but all of Juventus are grateful to you.

“Speaking for myself, calling Giuseppe Marotta a professional in the world of football is simplistic.

“He has been managing football clubs for 40 years, with successes like those at Venezia and Atalanta. He left Sampdoria in the Champions League, before joining Juventus.

“The ability and knowledge of Marotta have been instrumental in the growth of the club, and we owe him our warm thanks and applause.

“What allowed us to make this choice is the work Aldo and Giuseppe did in helping the professionals under them, raising future professionals who could take their role.

“We’ve decided to divide Beppe Marotta’s responsibilities to those who are already board members, so there will be a new generation of leaders entrusted with the future of Juventus.”

    - - - Updated - - -

“Why now? I don’t fix the deadlines of a publicly traded company, it’s natural that the decision would come at this time.

“We decided to renew the leadership, but nothing can take away the feelings of affection, gratitude and recognition for Marotta.” - Andrea Agnelli

Giuseppe Marotta is believed to be closer than ever to joining Inter, but there are doubts about the precise title of his role.

The 61-year-old is no longer CEO of Juventus after the board meeting today, and while he is still under contract as general manager that will be resolved in the coming weeks.

He has been heavily linked with a role at Inter, and Tuttomercatoweb believes owners Suning are very close to reaching an agreement with Marotta.

The only doubt which remains is over his role, as Alessandro Antonello is already installed as CEO and Piero Ausilio is sporting director, working above head of football operations Giovanni Gardini.

It’s likely that Marotta will be a general manager like at Juve, meaning he will oversee everything to do with the football side of the club.

It’s possible he could later be made joint-CEO or at least be appointed to the board, as happened in Turin.

The Old Lady released a statement this afternoon thanking the director for his work, stating “Marotta’s contribution at every stage of this journey will not be forgotten, nor will the lessons learned by anyone who had the privilege of working by his side”.

I'm not one of the posters here who believe that juve is currently, actively cheating. That said, I've always maintained my wish that we never do any business with them on principle. Rivalries and such are somewhat exaggerated by fans more so than between the clubs as businesses or institutions/corporations, but I simply do not trust them as a club. I'm not suggesting Marotta will join us as a double agent and then try to get us relegated or something, but the stain attached to juve is something that never goes away. I'd be more comfortable if the only interaction we had with this piece of shit cancer club is the two league matches per season and nothing else - no player transfers or staff acquisitions.

I'd like two more games in the quarter finals of CL too. Trash them.

According to the latest reports, Marotta will be announced tomorrow (probably as our general director) along with Zhang Jr. (as our new president).

He wouldnt have consented to renew with our deadweights Dalbert, Gaga, Vecino, Candreva + Broz 60m release clause. So we just did that in the nick of time.

    Inter: Zhang in, Marotta next?
    By Football Italia staff

Steven Zhang will be named Inter’s new President on Friday and could reportedly be joined on the club’s board by Beppe Marotta.

Zhang will be sworn in during Inter’s annual shareholders’ meeting, bringing an end to Erick Thohir’s five-year tenure.

However, the Indonesian had been marginalised by Suning Group since its takeover in 2016 and is ready to sell his 31 percent stake in the Nerazzurri.

The 26-year-old, who will become the Beneamata’s youngest-ever President, spent the last two years acting as a figurehead for Suning.

Gazzetta dello Sport also reports it is ‘becoming increasingly clear’ that the Chinese will be accompanied by Marotta.

The newspaper explains that while the CEO has yet to resolve his contract with Juventus, the intention is for him to ‘help Zhang grow into his role’, similar to his work with Andrea Agnelli at Juve.

    - - - Updated - - -

There are also confirmations from Pedulla. Marotta is joining Inter.
