steven zhang has been elected a member of ECA's Executive Board. hebeat napoli's president to it.

he will basically take the seat of milan's CEO gazidis.

so from now on, when the big guns of europe have a proposal, we will have a say AND a vote.

He also uploaded a pic on Instagram saying “forza Ferrari” celebrating their GP win.

I guess he didn’t think about who Ferrari are owned by

Italians tend to take pride for Ferrari (at F1) so he's probably just influenced by all that frenzy.

Steven Zhang ‘wishes Mauro Icardi good luck’ at Paris Saint-Germain, says Inter are ‘aiming for the top’ and ‘really hopes’ Serie A has seen the last of racism.

Zhang is about to close his first year as Inter President, having overseen a second successive Champions League qualification and appointed Antonio Conte as Coach.

“We have a great Coach and as a club we’ve supported him 200 percent,” he told reporters after he was elected to the European Club Association’s Executive Board.

“We had the transfer window we did because Inter must be aiming for the top. We ask the players to express their feelings, commitment and Nerazzurro hearts.

“Our vision requires us to always be in the Champions League. We’re participating for the second year in a row, but it’ll always have to be this way. Our objective is to stay at the top.

“The fans and the history of the club deserve it. However, our Coach has only been here for 100 days.

“We’ve also bought lots of young players and, even if everyone would like to win the Scudetto and the Champions League, you need to give yourself time to work and be patient.

“The results will come. I said that two years ago and that’s how it’s gone.”

However, the 28-year-old has also had to deal with the Icardi situation and the issue of racial abuse, which saw Nerazzurri ultras controversially defend the Cagliari fans who subjected Romelu Lukaku to monkey chants.

“Icardi’s a good lad, a good person and a good player. I talked to the PSG President, who told me that they were happy to have him.

“I wish him good luck and that he has fun on the field.

“These things should not happen in our stadiums. I really hope football matches can be delivering force to educate people around world. This competition is for positive attitudes and inclusion.

“It is for people to get better education and better understanding of each other. That is reason why we participate in sports and why football exists, not for violence and racism.

“I really hope, in San Siro, in Italy and all European competitions it will not happen again.”

I agree. he probably saw it as the "italian thing to do". even more so in milano, which is (as i'm sure most people here know) so close to monza.

Usually not a fan of presidents who talk a lot, but Zhang should be more vocal. He’s been quiet for quite sometimes and I didnt like that he didnt react to this whole Curva-racism problem sooner.

After last year`s Xmas party statements of Steven, here he goes again with the same message

Steven Zhang has warned Inter’s rivals that a united Nerazzurri will “conquer the world”, in a rallying cry at the club’s Christmas dinner.

Interi are challenging Juventus for the Scudetto this season and, at the moment, the two sides share top spot in Serie A with 39 points from 16 games.

Now, their President has stressed that they must “remain humble” to help “overcome the obstacles” along the way.

“Right now, we are top of Serie A,” remarked the Chinese businessman, who turns 28 on Friday.

“This means a lot to us; it means we are on the right path. All our efforts will be rewarded step by step.

“Still, this doesn’t mean anything. We must remain humble; we must learn from the past. We need to stay focused.

“Without courage and work, we can’t compete at the highest level. Both on and off the pitch.

“Last week I spoke to the players and I said we will have some difficulties in the future, there are always obstacles to overcome.

“This also applies to the next 100 years of this club, there will always be obstacles, but we must face them together.

“We are not afraid of anything. Today, and in the future, it will take courage. Only in this way, we can aspire to and compete at the highest levels.

The difficulties of the past don’t matter. The future obstacles don’t matter. Together, all of us, this big family, we will conquer the world.

“We are all united. Forza Inter!”
