surprise surprise, the world of football has wasted a couple of weeks over a team which couldn't even beat al-ain

2-2 after extra time, then ail-ain prevailed thanks to the penalty shoot-outs thus reaching the final
My username has nothing to do with the player of liverpool fc, it is a reference to an Italian novel.

Al Ain almost scored after a great individual effort that was saved on the line, then Modric 1-0. Rather open game. Real also hit the post in the first minutes of the game.

Now Al Ain scored but it's ruled offside.

this tournament doesn't make much sense at this point. it's like a first division team facing a bunch of third division ones

You can say that for literally any international competition though. I'm not a fan of this competition btw, I'd get rid of it too. Just for different reasons.
