Could you imagine playing for Southampton and being told Inter have called and want your services?
Could you imagine playing for Sassuolo and being told Barcelona have called and want your services?

    A) Hassenhutl is a good coach and he I would relly on his insticts. His Lepizing was good and I saw two games of his Soton team and the improvement over Hughes is very visible, they play very well especially considering players they have. Why he decided against Cedric is a mystery but it is worrying me a bit, especially because...
    B) Why would Soton, a team that is still a bit endangered by relegation (but I doubt itll happen with the current foach) deice to loan him? Financially its not amazing for them and Cedric is on paper a player they at the very least should have on bench just in case. Its a mystery to me.

While I think the deal is very good, I started to think it may be a bit too good to be true and started to be a bit suspicious.
Meh, maybe Cedric just wanted to leave.

He was linked to several top teams through the years.

I've watched Soares play often over the years, Southampton is one of my favourite stadiums to visit in the UK. He is a decent RB, looks good going forward but nothing special. For me it was very surprising that Santos preferred him over Cancelo during the World Cup last year.

If its a low cost loan deal with an option to buy, I guess its ok. It just means we are returning Vrsaljko due to his injuries.

In terms of defense Cedric >>>>> Cancelo.

But in terms of speed, technique and creativity, he behind Cancelo.

Nice deal by Marotta, get good RB for 11 Million.

I’ve been reading a lot about how Cedric is a good crosser on this last days here and also on other forums, well for me, unless he improved immensely in Southampton while at the same time continued being average in that for the NT, that’s just not true.

IMO it’s one of his biggest gaps since ever, he’s better at defending but he often gives depth to the attack, the problem is that his crosses are often off target, now imagine when you have a player as good as Ronaldo when it comes to heading on the box and the crosses keep missing him again and again.

Just went and checked his stats on transfermark, 22 assists in 244 matches.

He is currently at CONI for his medical visits. Time to move to "Players" sub forum.

from transfermarkt: he has played 244 matches as a professional so far, scoring 4 goals and contributing with 22 assists. not particularly bad but certainly not impressive either. from the little i have seen of him, he looks to me reliable in the defense, a bad shooter, while his crosses may have slightly improved compared to his years in portugal, atill being not particularly impressive under that department (but not worse than our current full backs and maybe a bit better).

of course, if he ends up being a bench warmer like lisandro lopez last season, we are just wasting our time trying to understand if he's any good

We have D'Ambrosio and Vrsjalko on the right, why we need a third one?

yeah, we have d'ambrosio and Šime "brittle leg" Vrsaljko.

how much do you guys want to bet that we will see a lot of d'ambrosio on the left side, moving asamoah to the midfield?
