My bad, I only knew him from his time in Holland at Groningen where he was a left winger.

Yeah, I understand what you are saying. But the kind of money we plan to spend in this mercato, I was hoping our benchmark would be higher than "not as bad".

Due to it's very nature, the wingback position is a fucking average one. No decent player in their right mind would pick this position as one they want to develop or excel in.

Wish I could report a better news today regarding the left wing-back position, however there is only Darmian [contract expiring 2020] and our ex-player Cristiano Biraghi.

The first name is Matteo Darmian. The Italian of Manchester United is the easiest to get and he wants to return to Italy. His agent, Tullio Tinti, was in Inter HQ last Thursday afternoon as well. Darmian only has one more year left in his contract and is only valued at around €4M on the United’s budget. In short, should be a cheap operation.

The second is Cristiano Biraghi of Fiorentina. His potential arrival would be very useful for the UEFA squad list of Inter considering that he is in fact a youth product. Let’s not forget that Biraghi is a perfect fit on the left wing. Fiorentina want at least €18M-€20M for his departure.

I prefer Biraghi any day over Darmian and not just because Biraghi is left footed. I think it would actually be a decent option considering we don't have alot of money to spend and Dalbert is just awful.

    edit, nvm.

Prefer Biraghi as well tbh, but price will be steeper than Darmian anyway.

Biraghi would be awesome. Has been great in the past 2 years. Of course, depending the price. Darmian? Fuck, id rather keep playing dalbert, which says a lot.

Darmian would make zero sense. Quite high wages, not an upgrade and not young. Biraghi is one of the less depressing rumours lately. Which in itself is depressing.

Biraghi has the added value of being a club trained player. That’s about the only good thing I see about him though. Pretty average player if we’re being honest. He will do what he’s told though and would probably die on the field for Conte so there is that

I dont think Biraghi is average. Not world beater, but not average either. Problem is he doesn excels in anything but is decent at everything. Good crosser, decent defender, and decent set piece taker. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Exactly what I was thinking, I am not expecting highlights reel stuff from him, but I would be at peace for the season with him on the left side (compared to current solutions in the team).

Junior Firpo would be a good one and I'm surprised we are not onto him yet. Profile-wise perfect for LWB, young and with potential, already experienced in LaLiga. He has a clause at 50m Euro but apparently Barca is onto him for 30m.

Regarding Biraghi: IMO he's a certainly better option then Darmian. At less than 20m I guess It would be a sensible signing i.e. we have a reasonable player, unlikely to flop badly, we are able to spend elsewhere in this window and we just delay the matter until the future (if not satisfied).

Biraghi? Fuck no. He is average, and Fiorentina are asking for 20m. I would much rather just use Dimarco instead. I DON'T want Inter to sign Darmian, but IMO:

    Darmian for 4m > Biraghi for 20m

Biraghi for 20m€ sounds just ridiculous. At most 15m€ and there's already added bonus in club-trained status.
