Ashley Young was excluded from Man Utd squad against Norwich.

Yeah, he seems to be coming. Guess it's now how much United wants for him. Shouldn't be much IMO.

    Everything depends on his wages.

From what I can gather, he's earning something like 3.5-4m/year at Man Utd. It's got to be out of the question for us to continue paying that. If he's coming, he needs to take a pay cut, unlikely as that may be. It's fucking insane to be spending a yearly 6-7m (inc. tax) on a 3rd choice WB.

its worth pointing out that footballer salaries in the UK include tax - e.g. if the UK media reports 3m/year, the Italian press would report them at 1.5m/year. E.g. Cost to club vs player take home.

No, I took that into account. His wage is reported to be around 6m which is about €7m and approx €4m or so after tax.

With that new tax law it'd be different in practice inc. how much we have to pay but either way, his ballpark salary is €3m-4m. Way too high for his age and squad role.

Uni & H are both correct. Ashley Young's wage at Man Utd is 6.24 (7.33) pa. In England they report gross wages. So his net wage is around 4m. Even with the new tax law, that means his gross wage at Inter will be at 5.5m pa mark.

Can we tell Ashley Young we apologize for the error but it was Inter Miami that you made a deal with?

That gross equals to ~2.7m€ net wage in normal gross salaries so it's not a total disaster contract. Dumbo got a raise to that similar level and his status generally is nowhere near Youngs status even if Young is close to done. He's a club captain for years at United and probably we're going to pay only a nominal fee to get him.

Not saying I'm excited over this acquisition but I understand the management don't want to put resources to flank positions since they are operating with limited resources.

to learn chinese since being proficient in Chinese is a must for Conte defenders especially wingbacks.

It seems Young is coming to Inter.

Inter and mediocre full backs. Name a more iconic duo.

What a stupid move. We're already full of shit fullbacks, now we're adding a 34 year old (35 at the end of the season) who nobody wants and will be stuck with until he retires. Lazaro is much better than this guy, so is Asamoah and I'd rather D'ambrosio and Candreva start over him too. Completely pointless signing.

If the rumours are true, the ages of three players we'll be signing will be 34 (Ashley Young), 32 (soon to be 33 Arturo Vidal) and 33 (Giroud).

Then we'll have even more mediocrity when we sign Darmian in the summer and Dalbert returns. Never have I seen a club hoard this many shit full/wingbacks.

On the bright side, if there's no Brexit agreement at the end of this month, Ashley Young would count as a non-EU signing and there's no way we'd blow that vital slot on him.

His net wage will be apparently 4m€ as we apparently pay him 3m€ net for this half season and 3m€ for whole next season.

Either FCIN are talking bullshit or Marotta has lost his mind. 3m in 6 months for Ashley fucking Young is insane.

No such luck - UK & EU have till Dec 2020 to finalise the Brexit agreement. So Young is still EU until at least the end of this year.

Quite possible there's something lost in translation. Let's wait (and discuss in Young's own thread now, it's online).
