If there's half a chance to get Eriksen I'd sign him in a heartbeat.

I've wanted Eriksen for years but it ain't gonna happen. There are too many top clubs after him and Real or PSG can offer him wages that we cant compete with.

I'd rather we spend the potential Gabigol money along with whatever we were prepared to give for Vidal on Eriksen instead to secure him in Jan than risk it in the summer as that's the only (slight) realistic chance we have.

Agreed. With the direction Zhang/Marotta/Conte are giving to Inter, the club has become significantly more attractive to players, however we are miles away from the likes of Real and Barca when it comes to competing for world class players. And competing with those in summer would be extremely difficult, unless he only and only wants to play for Inter, rejecting every offer like a Barella (which we all highly doubt).

So tbh, knowing Tottenham don't have much leverage, I'd negotiate a price with them and get him asap. Fuck a Vidal in that case.

Not sure but a season or so back we were rumoured to Vidal/Modric, then ended up with none. This time, it is Vidal/Eriksen. Still find it hard to believe that we could sign Eriksen in the summer.

As mentioned earlier, Winter market could be an opportunity for us to sign Eriksen.

In those cases there was truth, but we had restraints.

For example, we had booked Arturo Vidal right after Nainggolan came, but due to that valuable non-EU spot we didn't pull the trigger. There was also the cost involved that meant that another position had to be sacrificed. We had the deal with Bayern as well and we told them to wait and Barcelona came in with a better offer for both the club and player. At that point there was nothing we could do. We hesitated because we had other gaps to fill and we paid the price by losing out on a player that with Radja next to him could have made us Scudetto contenders that year.

With Modric it was different. We had agreed terms with the player and we were under the false idea that Perez would just agree to let him go for like 15m because he "promised the player" he'd let him go wherever he wanted if they won the CL again. Modric tried to get the move done all summer long but Perez would not cave. And we didn't do anything because we were expecting him to come. It's not like we could have found anyone much better with the money we did not have.

Now this Eriksen stuff is real, but the competition is also real. We're not his priority, but we could become it if we pursue the player within the next 2 weeks. As I said a couple of days ago, if we are forced to spend more than 20m then just abandon the deal and try to lock the player on a free for next summer.

Vidal will be hard to get now since Barcelona isn't interested in replacing him and want to keep him. Hopefully we do not commit ourselves to a summer agreemnent.

Much as I would like to get Eriksen, lets not "fuck a Vidal". Vidal will improve us more in the short term, he is the ideal Conte midfielder. So I can understand why for Conte Vidal is first choice and Eriksen the 2nd choice. In case of Eriksen, he is now free to agree a deal with other clubs - so ideally Inter need to agree a deal with him in this window, or he is gone. Whether we agree a deal with Spurs or not is immaterial.

Now there are rumours that Marotta is sniffing around Tonali. Whether we buy him or not, Inter are now going to make all Juve targets more expensive for them. This is war.

Yeaaah like Pravesh says, this feels a little too reminiscent of a year and a half ago where we ended up with Keita instead of Vidal or Modric. Let's 100% try to avoid that scenario, which only leads us to ending up with De Paul. With either the Dane or the Chilean, we're one big step closer to the scudetto.

On the Tonali news, that's fucking exciting if true. I thought for sure he'd end up at Juve.

you always speak with so much certainty on stuff like its all factual and definitely true, because you read it in some newspapers...

You always speak of me reading something in a newspaper, which ironically is something I do not do as I detest the sports journalism industry. Whatever media stuff I read is usually from this place or whatever my Whatsapp group is feeding me with.

Whenever I speak "with certainty", it's because I know what I'm talking about. On the other hand, you will always seek for a journalist's approval or source for everything you read which is even more ironic

And to answer the previous page's question. No, I did not read some Brescia Today newspaper but they probably have better information than others. Or maybe they wanted to gain an exclusive after a mere phone call between executives that involved a certain promise.

Okay, then, prove to me we had an agreement with Modric? Because you make that statement so quickly without any evidence, citation, or anything

Oh wait, I guess its your magic 'my friends in the industry' BULLSHIT again.

You're a waste of breath, electrons, and bytes.

From my side, when I talk about newspaper articles, I only refer to them as potentials. Look at the Eriksen thing, as one. These are the implications IF it is true. I avoid speculating about player signings unless I'm personally keen on a signing (e.g. Tonali), so I call BREHMEBULLSHIT on that.

Actually, hell, you realistically cant generate any actual proof of the Modric thing.

Why dont you give us some inside info based on the stuff you 'know what you're talking about'? Many of your assertions come after the fact, and aren't verifiable.

Give us something that actually happens soon, isn't already in the press, etc. Not, for example, 'Inter will sign Darmian' because that shit's been going on for ages, or something like... 'Inter will sign Messi within 2 seasons'. If you've got such a great source of information, fucking back it up.

The biggest of false prophets are the people who tell you 'I told you so' after the fact. And I'm not taking the 'economists have predicted 18 of the last 3 recessions' bullshit either.

If you paid more attention to my posts during the mercato, you'd notice what you're seeking. I'm sorry, but I'm not in the prophecy business and I'm sorry if you find whatever information I share disappointing and underwhelming. I also have to apologize because the media you are so seeking to confirm what I've mentioned several times are still lagging.

But I do find that a better thing to complain about rather than someone's lack of football knowledge or understanding which happens to be your greatest skill.

ah, so you know we had a contract agreed with modric but you cant prove it, and you only know about it after the fact, and arent willing to share your sources.

Yet again, Brehme's magical 'I know it all' crystal ball fails to measure up to any scientific scrutiny.

After the fact? After which fact? That he did not end up here? Did you see the bet I made regarding Modric's pending arrival? You are free to ask if I honored that bet or not.

The only failure here is you understanding that you cannot simply ask Ausilio or Marotta about transfer news even if they were your best buddies, so why do you assume that whomever I know can or would answer on demand questions like that? I was told earlier today that Tonali is as good as done, I shared it in the way I felt it was more appropriate. I'm not saying anything as fact unless it already happened... Maybe you need to keep up with your comprehension skills and stop asking people for crystal balls and then whine about them not having one.

Fuck it, won't bother saying anything else again if bullshitters like this guy keep whining all the time.

Well, cool - there's a prediction. Tonali is as good as done. Let's see where that goes.

That's all I ask for, some predictions that are actually insightful and measurable.

Like your Milan/LVMH takeover one which has yet to materialise

I have no problem with people not having crystal balls - I object when someone acts like they do.

Okay, so LVMH did not buy Milan within 5 days. Boo-hoo.

I also said Arnault would be buying Milan, not their company... But who said that they're actually pulling the trigger for the price Eliott is asking? I said that they made a bid. It was rejected. I never said they're making another one. How the fuck would I know how bad they want to buy Milan? All I know and said was that their interest is genuine. Genuine enough to warrant an actual offer on the table that reached Eliott and the fund to respond (negatively) to it. And everything else I said on the issue was why buying Milan makes sense for Arnault regardless of the monetary return of investment...

For fuck's sake, the posts are written on this very website. It's not that hard to see what was written before saying bull crap like this.

Will you ever learn how to engage in a discussion properly without provoking someone by saying they said things they haven't said or just blindly attacking them?

Guys take it easy already. What if brehme actually has some credible source? He cannot prove that in a forum in any capacity. Or maybe he doesn't have? So fucking what? It's not like one needs to believe everything one is saying or getting so upset saying stuff in a forum.

As for those Modric stories, I believe they were covered in the media too, exactly how brehme state how they went.

It's interesting to follow now how this "Tonali is as good as done". Sounds a bit exaggeration at this point but let's see.
