I had high hopes for Leipzig this season but they have been very inconsistent in the second round. Gladlbach are a very interesting team and it's very exciting to watch them but i feel they're missing the mentality to fight for the title. Dortmund have been great lately but they were fucking around in the first round and they woke up too late. Der Klassiker is their last change to stay alive in the title fight. On the other hand, Bayern have been very consistent since Flick replaced Kovac. In 16 league games, they have 13 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. It will require a choking from Bayern to see another team winning the title this season and they don't do that often.
Colour me surprised. Season is over. 8th in a row for Bayern. A new record.

Schalke remind me of 2018-19 Fiorentina. Abysmal form in the second round. 4 points in the last 10 games. They even managed to lose against Werder. They're lucky there aren't enough games left to get relegated.

Watching Leverkusen - Bayern atm, Perisic benched.

Tolisso, Alcantara and whoever they have will be available. Goretzka and Kimich are beasts and they’re playing like CM.

Davies is pretty good at LB and I don’t think ALABA will be content to play next couple years like CD.

Goretzka just scored and he had marvelous assists before, strong player.

Bayern officially are 2019/20 Bundesliga champions after their win against Werder in Weserstadion. 8th title in a row and 30th overall.

Bayern 8 in a row, pretty much the same in Italy and France, where the same team has been winning the title back to back for ages (with the exception of one season for psg).

Kind of makes you wonder if football doesn't need some financial adjustments.

It's only better in Spain and England because it's two or occasionally three teams dominating rather than one.
"As usual in Italy some decisions are made without sense and logic. The dark side of the football that we tried to clean up returns to light".

This is probably a sign of things to come.

Bundesliga domestic TV rights fall by €200m in post-pandemic deal

The Bundesliga has seen a fall in the value of its TV rights, after it became the first major European league to agree a new broadcast deal since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The German top flight, whose rights are sold alongside those of the 2. Bundesliga, has secured a new agreement with Sky and the streaming company Dazn for its domestic rights – including Austria and Switzerland – worth €4.4bn (£4bn) over four years. That represents a fall of €200m on the previous deal, which expires this summer.

The Bundesliga became the first football league to return to competition post-lockdown in mid-May and now has set a broadcasting benchmark which other competitions will be watching and attempting to analyse. The English Premier League is scheduled to put its own three-year domestic rights cycle out to tender later this year.

Sky will show all matches played on a Saturday, a total of 200 games a season. But they will be joined by streaming company Dazn, who will have exclusive rights to 106 games on Friday and Sunday. Dazn’s deal is thought to be one of the largest number of matches in a major football league ever secured by a streaming broadcaster.

Nine league matches were also sold to free to air broadcaster ProSieben/Sat1 but the new deal sees a drop in the level of competition for rights with the Discovery-owned channel Eurosport dropping out. There was also no entry into the German market for Amazon, who had been touted to add the Bundesliga to the Premier League in their portfolio of football rights.

With broadcasters facing their own challenges from the coronavirus pandemic, including a fall in subscription numbers and a collapse in advertising revenue, a small fall in the value of the Bundesliga’s rights could be seen as success for the German Football League (DFL). On the other hand it stands in sharp contrast to the previous deal, which ran from 2017-21 and saw the DFL grow its broadcast revenues by 85%.

DFL CEO Christian Seifert said the new deal achieved the league’s main objectives. “No company will have all the live rights for the Bundesliga,” he told a virtual news conference. “It was an unusual situation for everyone involved, and I think we achieved a decent result.”

2019/20 Bundesliga season is officially over. Bayern, Dortmund, Leipzig and Gladbach to CL. Leverkusen, Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg to Europa. Paderborn and Fortuna Dusseldorf straight to Zweite Liga. Werder played with fire throughout the season but in the end they didn't get burnt (at least for now). They will play a relegation playoff against 3rd team of Zweite.

Kramerica, congrats for returning to CL.

That was some performance by Hoffenheim to qualify into the EL spots. Dortmund didn't have anything to play for though. After Hakimi came on he didn't even look bothered Probably didn't want to risk major injury or anything.

With any luck, Inter and Gladbach won't meet at any point prior to the Final.

Btw, there's a definite possibility that the relegation playoff team from the 2nd division is going to be Hamburg. Hamburg vs. Werder Bremen, the Nordderby. Hamburg need some help - Heidenheim play the league champions away, but the league champions are, well, confirmed as champions with nothing left to achieve - and they've had a tendency to choke all over themselves late in games anyway, but it's on the table and would make the relegation playoff must-watch stuff.

    L O FUCKING L

Bielefeld is having an easy time of it with Heidenheim, and Hamburg have the better goal difference so all they needed to do today was avoid losing against 12th place Sandhausen...

    They lost 5-1.

Werder Bremen will remain in the Bundesliga for 2020-'21 after drawing 2-2 at Heidenheim and winning on away goals.

(Away goals with no fans? I know, I know...)
