If Wesley did not win it in 2010 after guiding Inter to the Treble and the Netherlands to a World Cup final, then I do not see how Lukaku can possibly be a contender.

The Ballon D'or does not count for shit. It is for fan boys who "support" the likes of Real Madrid, Ronaldo, Barcelona and Messi and who like to suck dicks while watching games.

I wonder if there is a player in the European "big 5" who has 20 goals and 10 assists in his league.

    Messi ? Mbappé ?

Edit : Messi is the closest, 23 goals, 8 assists.

Harry Kane has 19 goals 13 assists.

    Yeah but that's in a farmer's league, so Kane's stats don't count.

Lukaku is nowhere near Ballon d'Or level guys. This is just absurd.

But his performance against Sassuolo was brilliant. The run he made to set up Sanchez (which he gloriously fucked up of course) is something that I'd like to see him do more often. He has the physicality and speed to pull it off at will.

You go with the official stats from the league, not fucking whoscored. Believe me, I'm not saying this because it makes me happy. I want him to be at 9 assist too.

Overall nothing special, but crucial for the win again with that Hakimi combo.

Former Inter sporting director Walter Sabatini believes the physical prowess of Nerazzurri striker Romelu Lukaku means they can avoid slow build-up play. Sabatini, now at Bologna, appeared on Italian television programme Il Tribunale Delle Romane earlier today and offered his thoughts on the necessity to build attacks through the team and looking to dominate possession.

“Well, some consider this the plague of the modern game but for me it is a necessity,” Sabatini declared.
“If you do not have a centre-forward who can get behind then you have to build. I’m an advocate. Some teams like Inter can avoid it because they know they have a humanoid machine like Romelu Lukaku and they can launch it up.”
