Apparently we played a friendly against Fanfulla (Serie D) and beat them 5-1. Dimarco scored a hat trick

I think Dimarco is a pleb tbh. Couldn't get game time playing in a shit team in the 10-team Swiss League, couldn't get game time ahead of 38 year olds at Parma, career highlight scoring a screamer against his parent side.. all the symptoms of another Destro. That said, if Asamoah is injured, and Biraghi keeps turning in these stinkers, then I'd give Dimarco a game - purely for the hueuhuehue.

I do agree that he was mostly a starter when fit. However I disagree that he can’t be worse than Biraghi. Biraghi is the typical average but safe player Italian coaches love. Won’t win you any games but he won’t lose you any. Steady Eddy. Dimarco could certainly be worse, however I also have a sneaking suspicion he could also be better.

Going forward there is no doubt his final ball and set piece ability would be a weapon for us. I just question the rest of his game and really we don’t know what we’ve got until we give it a shot.
