    i would say similar.

morons such as wanda, icardi and perisic destroyed that possibility.

With Naingolan rotating into any of the midfield slots. Would be an improvement on last season, but who can say if it would be better or worse than where we currently are?
Sure. Given the theory of multiple universes, there also must exist one in which Spalletti is actually a competent man for this job.

ha ha ha! This can scare Real Madrid. Add Ericksen on the list.

Not sure what your point is? You bring up that I'm talking about a CL knockout game, but then bring up an irrelevant CL group stage game that Juventus hardly cared about and a Europa League campaign? Conte got turds like Moses to be a starter and win the EPL but you mentioned in another post that's not impressive - so now you bring up Mourinho winning the Europa League against trash teams?

Every comment you make is how Mourinho makes bad decisions to take over teams, but that must mean you agree that he's been irrelevant for the last 4-5 years or so. He made bad decisions and hasn't done anything impressive with them. You already aren't impressed with league titles so Mourinho winning with Chelsea many years ago wasn't impressive. So what actually is the last "world-class" achievement of his? Winning the La Liga? Because it seems you are basing this off of that accomplishment, which has nothing to do with the coach he is now.

Before I go on... please tell me if you think Pochettino, who has never won anything in his life, is a great coach or no.

I have a few thoughts about the game against Cagliari. i know that a few days have passed and this post may be a bit late but I have been angry (and probably still am) about the result.

Thirty or so minutes into the first half, I found myself saying: “Do you know how this game is going to pan out? We’ll sit on a 1-0 goal lead for most of the match and in the last 20 minutes, we will concede and it will finish 1-1”.

I had the above thought because I thought our play in the first half was muddled. Our play lacked clarity and was not very sharp nor was it concise. I do not know how to explain this properly, but earlier in the season, it seemed like the players knew exactly what was expected of them and they went out and duly executed. There was a sharpness and directness about their play that in recent performances has been absent. That lack of sharpness and directness has been replaced with muddled patchy performances that have largely disappointed. I do not think our performances are down to tiredness because there was a week between games. A possible explanation could be that Barella and Sensi suffered long term injuries and they are not yet match sharp. Take out Brozovic and put in Valero and we have a midfield that is unbalanced and misfiring. I think it also has to be said that the wing backs need to contribute more to our game.

Firstly, I would like to comment on the performance of Ashley Young. I noticed in the opening exchanges of the game that he was either much too forward or much too back but as the game progressed, so too did his confidence as well as the confidence that his teammates had him in. Early in the game, I felt his teammates did not send passes out to the wing as they were giving him an opportunity to find his feet. I am grateful for the pin point cross he delivered to Martinez but what impressed me most were some his tackles and interventions. He played with determination, desire and strength and it was great to see him put in some hard tackles and win the ball. I am not sure if anyone noticed but there were a couple of tackles when his direct opponent (the young Juventus loanee), seemed surprised by his tenacity and ferocity in the tackle. The good thing about Young is that he is acutely aware of his age and the fact that his time at Inter could possibly be his last professional contract. He wants to make a difference and leave a good impression and it showed during his first game for the club.

When I look at what is going on up front, I thought this game was possibly one of the first games where our players and especially Martinez, Sensi and Lukaku almost appeared to be playing for themselves rather than for the team. I am not sure if I am just reading into things too much but selfishness has krept into our game and as a result, we are not functioning as well as a team and wasting the opportunities created. Sensi's glaring miss was terrible and Lukaku's shot that was taken on his left foot and hooked wide after dribbling from halfway was a poor finish. There was also Sensi's (I think it was) failure to pick out Martinez and instead take a shot himself. This needs to change and the players need to get back to playing as a team. Perhaps Martinez's suspension will assist in this regard as Lukaku will have to carry the burden on his own as opposed to compete against Martinez in the goal stakes.

There were times when Valero was caught in possession when we transitioning from defence to attack. And there were a couple of occasions when he got tangled up with defenders in the final third. He has done a job for us while the team has struggled with injuries and suspensions but I am hoping that the acquisition of Eriksen will finally be the end of his Inter career and that we will not have to see him play again. Enough is enough: it is time for him to be sidelined and move on at the end of the season.

I was most disappointed with Godin and the honest truth of the matter is that I cannot work him out. There are games when he is really strong and others when he is simply a let down. I am puzzled less about his inconsistency than I am about trying to understand his desire and willingness to be at Inter. When he came on for Skriniar, he looked annoyed and I found myself wondering whether he would rather be somewhere else. One thought I had is that his more commanding appearances appear to be in big stage matches such as the Champions League rather than against the likes of smaller teams. His not playing to the whistle and looking for a free kick was atrocious and led to us conceding. His achievements at Atletico are very much in the past. If I were in Conte's place, I would limit his minutes because right now, he does more harm than good. And if I were management, I would be looking for a new and young defender that is able to play in a three man defence.

I thought Martinez’s goal was well taken and commend his efforts but the way he got sent off and the ramifications of the red card go well beyond the result against Cagliari. He needs to learn to bottle his anger and frustration and think ahead rather than getting caught up in the moment. At different times since his arrival at Inter, his temperament has been questioned and I feel this is an aspect of his game/character that he needs to improve to avoid suspensions in the future. I am not looking forward to the coming games without Martinez as I feel that Sanchez lacks his explosivity and is all about little tricks and flicks with little substance. And if we think Barella and Sensi are rusty and struggling then Sanchez is going to leave a lot to be desired. For me, Sanchez is not a very direct player and I feel that right now in this moment, we need to get back to basics and be more direct in the way we approach our game.

Another thought I have had in relation to Sanchez concerns his playing future. There have been reports that Manchester United will look to re-integrate him back into their starting eleven and give him a second chance next season. If that is the case, then steps should be taken to give playing time to every striker on Inter's books with the exception of Sanchez. Why allow him to find his feet at the expense of giving playing time to Esposito or any other striker that comes along during the winter mercato?

Lastly, there is Conte. I have read the arguments that are presently taking place where Brehme is arguing with many posters about Conte’s coaching abilities (or lack thereof) and speaking glowingly of Mourinho and Spalletti. The only points that I would like to make are that Mourinho’s time at Inter is well and truly done and management had the right to elect Conte (or whoever else) over Mourinho. Right now, I feel that his reputation has moved from being renowned for winning trophies to being renowned for outdated coaching methods and man management and teams playing lifeless underwhelming football. For quite some time now, Mourinho has been about noise rather than substance and results and for too long, Inter have been surrounded by 24 hour turbulence. We do not need the noise or anymore controversy. We just need to get on with things. As for Spalletti, any positives about his tactics (of which I believe there are very little) are far outweighed by his inability to adequately manage his players and his hysterical unbalanced reactions. Once again, we do not need any bullshit. There was too much of that with Spalletti.

In relation to Conte, I feel it is very simple in theory but perhaps more difficult in practice. The team needs to win a game and do so convincingly. The team needs to be decisive, determined, concise and structured with each player knowing and executing in their respective roles. The team needs to regain its focus, momentum and balance and I feel this will be especially difficult with the likes of Sensi, Barella and Sanchez coming into the frey off long term injuries whilst also introducing the likes of Young, Moses and Eriksen and anyone else that arrives between now and the close of the transfer window. I am trying to be optimistic but I feel that achieving this is going to be easier said than done. Having said that, Conte needs to realise that some dropped points is not the end of the world. Especially as Napoli did us a favour on the weekend. All is not lost but there is going to come a time when Juventus will inevitably extend their lead if we keep playing the way we currently are. Conte is being paid to rectify this and it is time for him to step up and stop the slide.

Finished the game earlier today, and this is just ridiculous. Every Inter game for the last month feels like it's been exactly the same. Score the first goal of the game, usually in the first half, and then concede a back-breaking equalizer (after squandering a few chances to make it 2-0) in the 75th minute or later. We've dropped eight points from winning positions in our last six games. I thought the Season for Giving was already over.

The goal was, of course, some really bad luck, but when you can't kill off a game and get it to 2-0, you're always prone to something like that happening.

Alexis Sanchez does not want to go back to Man Utd and his agent has inquired with our management what our plans are for next season.

Also, he's our player for this season and if he's a better option than Esposito or Lukaku or Lautaro, he should be playing. He's presently [until Eriksen is announced] our only player who can make a difference out of nowhere and we should utilize that. And even then, Sanchez brings a quality that even Eriksen does not have.
