So this guy didnt play last 20 so matches and now Cunte plays him in Broz position..
Ok,now we know who will Cunte blame if we lose tomorow.
10 - Will be one of the absolutely best players in the history of the game (think Meazza, Matheus)
9 - Will be one of the club legends, and become one of the best players in the world of their era
8 - A player of very good quality, who will add much to the team, one of the best nationalwise
7 - Good player, a valuble asset of a team, one of the 10-15 best on his position in the country
6 - Above average player, who will be useful, but will never be a key player for a team
5 - Completely average player
4 - Below average, not a disaster, but would be better if we didn't sign him in the first place
3 - Anonymous player who will never be remembered through the fact nobody expected anything from him
2 - Close to a useless player, who will add nothing to the team besides filling the CL quota
1 - Crap, shit, useless player, worst buisness ever, Mancini, Quaresma and Gresko combined

That article states he played ahead of a defensive midfielder or next to one, which is not what we're talking about here. What really struck me though, was the praise for his work ethic, as it has been very poor here. Your statement regarding Eriksen's & Pirlo's respective defensive abilities is, sorry, rather laughable.
Must just be the money game that Conte suddenly now needs Eriksen, trying to get a higher price for him.

Eriksen will have a good game tomorrow and eat bench for the next 4 games.

Trequartista doesn't work in our tactical setup as we've seen time and time again and Conte doesn't seem to like him as a mezzala (or at all).
Eriksen certainly has the technique and game awareness to play as a deep playmaker, we'll see how he does from a defensive point of view. Obviously I wouldn't expect Kante or even Brozo. Pirlo wasn't the strongest defender either, whether or not he's better at it than Eriksen is a bit of a trivial debate.
Eriksen has played as both left winger and LCM, was even tried by Pock as DLP. He was good. Not as good as AM, but good enough.
It's not the position tho, it's the tasks he's been given. He can work from deeper, but depends on what will be asked from him. Dictate the tempo, use long balls, similar to Pirlo? He can do it. But if he is tasked to be like Brozo, to do both that, and defend, run 14km and stuff like that - you won't see that in him. Conte said he will use him as Brozo, but he can't do that. He wont dive into tackles, he wont cover as much ground.

Unless Conte is planning on playing 2 holding midfielders
Lwb ------------ sensi. ------------ Rwb
Eriksen. ------------ Vidal/barella
I see Eriksen struggling. Subbed out at 2nd half incoming
I think Eriksen could be good today because is surrounded with technical players like Sensi, Lautaro and Sanchez.

a bit over average in 90 min, then he stepped up and had a good extra time.

He was good, its not his position. He can play this role against bottom table teams and Cunte should use him to rest Brozo.
This dude get praised by Conte because he get yellow card today.
At least do something in front of defense.![]()
Gagliardini best italian midfielders 2020/2021
Imo did decent. Not great, but ok. Controlled the tempo well, his shot earned that penalty and had great ET. Did loae few balls that could have been prevented, 2 in dangerous position.

I think many of you expected too much. First game in new position and his confidence is totally gone because he has been out for a year now.
It might be right position for Eriksen in Italy but I seriously doubt Conte is having patience waiting him to get his mojo back.
He was ok. He might grow on that position if he keeps playing, but we know that wont happen.

Conte has to start relying on Eriksen though. Sensi is injured again and we have a serious lack of options.
