No. It was a financial transaction. Both clubs needed plusvalenza. Barcelona needed it badly so they were forced to this deal as they couldn't generate plusvalenza other way. No one was buying their players so they had to agree this kind of swap deal. Juve was ready to play the ball with swaps since they needed plusvalenza too. Barca was more desperate so they had settle for taking an older player.

I know that but Jube could have taken another player not exactly Arthur. But they were keen on him and i think their interest had ignited after rumors that Inter want him. Actually these fuckers are linked with every player rumored to Inter but it could be a media bullshit as well.

Arthur was a player most fit to Juve of the selection of players Barcelona could generate big enough plusvalenza. I have very hard time believing picking Arthur had anything to do with Inter possibly wanting Arthur in return in Lautaro deal. We don't even know if there very any discussions with Barcelona about Arthur.

I don't know if Arthur was involved in our negotiations with Barca over Lautaro but there were so many reports about Inter and Arthur that the player felt the need to respond to them.

Napoli moving well on the market (again):

Besides their interest in Oshimen (to replace Milik), they want to replace Allan with Szoboszlai and replace Callejon/Lozano with Cengiz Under.

Napoli have reportedly dived in ahead of Milan and Arsenal for RB Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai, setting up a meeting with his representatives.
Milan and Arsenal seemed to be fighting it out to sign Szoboszlai, but Sky Sport Italia claims Napoli are ‘ready’ to pay his €25m release clause.

Furthermore, a meeting has been scheduled between Partenopei officials and the midfielder’s camp later this week. The Coppa Italia winners’ interest has intensified so much that the broadcaster now consideres them ‘ahead’ in the race for his signature.

He would replace Allan, who continues to be heavily linked with Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton. Ralf Rangnick knows the 19-year-old well, given the incoming Rossoneri chief is currently Red Bull’s head of football. However, Sky states Zvonimir Boban had agreed a deal for him in January before he was dismissed as Chief Football Officer.
    +

According to La Repubblica, he has already shaken hands with the Partenopei on a €3m salary. Cengiz Under has reportedly agreed personal terms with Napoli, but Roma want €30m for the winger and are unwilling to receive Kevin Malcuit in return.

Bonus: Henrikh Mkhitaryan has reportedly terminated his contract with Arsenal, allowing him to complete a permanent move to Roma. Corriere dello Sport claims agent Mino Raiola has managed to negotiate an early divorce from Arsenal for his client.

Hasn't Arthur lost his place totally to puiq? Fairly sure he's about 5th choice midfielder for them now? I don't watch much farca though. He's a good player but he isn't going to come to Italy and be one of the best in the league.

He’s never really been able to nail down a bonafide starting spot for them. In and out the team really. I think that he’s certainly a little overrated because he cane to Barca with the new Xavi tag. He also has had some good moments no doubt, however he still hasn’t really put together a full good season in Europe. There are also some questions over his professionalism.

I’m sure he will sort out the latter at least for the first year or two at Juve. If not he’ll be on the move again. For Juventus is a no brainer of a move. Move on an underperforming aging midfielder for one who’s essentially a like for like replacement and 7 years younger. Whether he will actually move the needle though is another question. He’s probably an upgrade on the recent output from Pjanic.

Milan have officially signed Alexis Saelemaekers on a permanent deal from Anderlecht and given the Belgian a contract until June 2024.
The Rossoneri have announced the signing of 21-year-old Saelemaekers, who arrived on loan in January and has played four times in Serie A so far.
The loan deal had an obligation to buy with conditions and Milan have confirmed the player has been signed for €3.5m and handed the right midfielder a four-year contract at San Siro.

Speaking of Theo, I wouldn't put it past Ausilio and Marotta to put a cheeky bid in for him just to test the waters. Would probably cause riots amidst Milan fans, but I don't know if Gazidis could turn down the chance for that magic plusvalenza.

Sorting out the weakest link in our starting XI at the same time as snatching Milan's best player seems too good to be true. Theo is worth a 40m bid, though ideally 20m plus Biraghi.
