I think Wijnaldum would work in our system. He can score a lot of goals when he can make runs inside the box. He scored 7 of the last 12 goals for the national team. Hard working and always ''on the move''. Would be an addition to our squad but I think he will go to Barcelona when his contract expires in the summer of 2021.

I don't even want to talk about Xhaka...

Xhaka. I don't know if I should laugh or cry. Thank God the rumour is from Corriere.

Wijnaldum on a free is a no brainer for me. Often felt like Klopp's secret weapon at Liverpool, I really like him.

But yeah, he's almost certainly off to Barca.

    No thanks.
The jury is still out on Locatelli for me.

I've seen him look very solid at times and quite poor at others. He doesn't have that "special something" imo, but a potentially very good all-rounder.

Still, he's very impressive for his age. My gut instinct is that he will have a successful career, but I'm not sure it's the right investment right now.

    ----

I think Paredes is underrated by many here. He's an absolute dickhead and I hate his guts, but he's a great player-- certainly better than Locatelli in this present moment.

That being said I'm not sure he's what we need right now either.

I feel like Juve will get Locatelli in the end unfortunately. Their midfield is probably the weakest it’s been in a decade (and barely any Italians in it) If Locatelli keeps improving with Sassuolo and the Azzurri, many clubs will be interested in him, with the old cunt leading the way.

If some are discussing Paredes, we might as well consider Julian Weigl (not like Conte would care).

Apparently has had enough of Benfica and would like to leave Lisbon only after one season. According to Portuguese source Record, the German is unhappy because Jorge Jesus, Benfica coach, has preferred Brazilian Gabriel Pires over him in starting lineup.

They are asking for €25M for the midfielder whose contract only expires in 2025 with €2M in wages. Following Weigl are Inter, Milan and Juventus. Benfica payed 20m and his current market value dropped to 17m. Anyone thinks he would bench Gagliardini in Conte`s Inter?

//off-topic: Fabrizio Romano reported that Lazio have identified Lille’s Yusuf Yazici to replace Milinkovic-Savic if the Serbian leaves the Olimpico in the future.

I can't help but feel like something has to have gone horribly wrong if you went from the Dortmund XI to Benfica, with all due respect to the Portuguese club. Usually that transition goes the other way around.

Tbh he had stopped being included in Dortmund starting lineup for a while. I have no idea how he's doing in Portugal but in the latest years in Bundesliga he looked like a shadow of the player he was under Tuchel. The more time passes the more it feels like he was a one season wonder. Inter should definitely stay away.

Locatelli had a bit of nasty edge in him during the last Nations League match I watched. Kinda like that.

Please Locatelli please. Otherwise Juventus will get him and their midfield worries in the long term are somewhat settled.

Maybe we should propose a Eriksen - Pogba swap. It might actually be good for all 4 parties concerned.

Pogba praises Juventus to the high heavens. Fuck him. He’d be worse at Inter than he is at United.

Fuck no. Get that virus out of this club.

Pogba got too much too young. He's already on a big contract after a (back then) transfer record fee. He has never shown to be worth that money at United. Best Pogba we've seen was at short tournament (World Cup) and while he was at Juventus, when he didn't yet think he's a super star. And when he had an established team around him, he was just one luxury piece. Not a carry player like he's expected to be now which he absolutely is not.

Conte wouldn't play Pogba at all.
