His highlight reel in the past few months already looks more impressive than everything he’d accumulated before making the move. He’s already shaping up to be a decent acquisition.

I saw a lot of Darmian at Manchester, where he looked totally mediocre. I also saw a bit of him at Parma, where he looked even worse.

This guy is becoming more likeable. Just the perfect balance. Better defending than Hakimi. Better going forward than DDA. Right dose of sexiness too. Not a God like Santo D'ambroseus. Not an awkward one like Hakimi either lol

Hakimi. And technically Sanchez since he came on a different deal from last season.

On a more serious note, it's hard to say who was our best signing. Vidal and Hakimi have had some great performances but they have been inconsistent. Pinamonti and Nainggolan have barely played (for different reasons). Kolarov has been a disaster. Perisic return has been underwhelming so far. Darmian certainly is our most consistent signing.

No matter how well Vidal does from here, he is responsible for our exit from Europe.

Same as no matter what we win or not this season, Conte has to go. He is a clueless, stubborn, inept, cowardly, coach.

All due respect to Ashley, I'm increasingly tempted of regularly starting Darmian on the left. He looks pretty comfortable in that position.

He looked a bit awkward tbh but the time is too short to be evaluated. However, all in to experiment him on the left from the start next game.

Why was Perisic subbed on for Young instead of Darmian?

I can understand bringing in Perisic instead of Darmian in halftime. We were already behind 2-0 so he decided to go with the more attacking player. But keep starting Young when he has been bad on every occasion makes no sense. Even if Conte doesn't trust Darmian on the left he could simply play Hakimi on the left and Darmian on the right. Hakimi had played plenty of games on the left wing at Dortmund. He isn't as good as on the right but he can certainly play the position.

Darmian also provided a nice assist in 10 mins play as LWB against Crotone. I know it doesnt say much as we were already leading by 5 and Crotone probably played with 10% intensity, but he still deserved credit and chance to be tried again on the left.
