This fucking Conte system requires three things to get the attack clicking.

Lateral and forward movement by the central midfielders.
Runs by the wing backs.
Combinations between the strikers.

If you don't have one of these, everything will be exposed.

Now you have Eriksen playing quite well in a new role at Inter but he is paired with Vidal and Gagliardini who do not make good runs.
Then you have Perisic and Young who cannot play in that role. Hakimi comes and suddenly we made 3 attacks.
At the same time, you have the strikers isolated. As much as they can combine, they will never be dangerous if the midfielders and wing backs don't help with increasing the number of attackers. Wasting a couple of chances will be highlighted much more as a result. (And damn, what a miss by Lautaro that was!).
