Update:
A few days ago, I had one of those dreams: here's how it went.
First half, a very frustrating performance by Milan. Can't get 2 passes straight together. Result. Half Time. Milan-Liverpool 0-1. Cissé.
I was able to get a sneak-peak at the dressing room. And boy, it was not pretty!!! Carletto was not his usual calm self, but rather his Terminator self at full blow!!!! He was furax!!!!
Here's Carletto's final words before going back to the 2nd half:
"If we lose, you'll get back to Milano by walk and by swimming. Plus, no vacation for the remainder of your contracts!" Talk about drastic talk...
Then, as usual, a calm, divine man, the Son of August, Il Capitano stood up and raised his arms and pronunced the following words:
"Mister, (referring to Carletto), don't worry. We'll take care of business!
And boy they did take care of business!!!! For the entire 2nd half, it was not a football match, but more like one of those attack-defence sessions that clubs usually do at practice. Milan were coming at Liverpool in incessant waves, but apparently, Pool were touched by some divine grace. Always, a deflection, a leg to block the final pass or when finally there was a break, Dudek, in the game of his life...
Then it all happened like a thunderstriker. In less than 90 seconds. 2 genius strikes. First, Il Pallone d'Oro reminded everyone why he is most dangerous/best striker in the world, delivering when it really matters the most!
And when everyone was getting ready for the overtime, the most important goal of the season (if not of his entire career so far!) was scored by who else than the most die hard, hard working and one of the most beloved players of the entire Brotherhood , Ringhio Gennarino Braveheart Gatusso with a sizzling shot. Remember that goal he scored a while back against England in a friendly? A copy cat of that screamer!!!
After he scored, he went ballistic. Sheva crushed him like in a rugby tackle. Then, the rest of the Milan players all jumped on him to embrace him. But he didn't want to start. He kept running running running the whole length of the field towards the opposite goal, defended by Dida. Was he going to embrace the Guardian of the Devilhoold? No. He run behind the net. Was he in hurry to go to the dressing room? No. Was he in one of those rush nature's call that you can't hold? No! He went all the way towards the feet of the Milan's Curva in front of la Fossa Dei Leoni and Le Brigatte Rossonere. Then, he picked up a Milan scarf from the floor and kissed it like one would with a beautiful girl in the most passionate form of kiss you could imagine!
Then, he lay on the floor along all those Milan scarves, as a if in a sign that he could now die in peace. But he was nowhere to die! Thanks God! He was just beginning!
Scenes of utterly striking contrasts were taking place on the same field. On on hand, the players in red were weeping in agony, in an unconsollable manner while the players in white, were embracing each other with tears of joy and pride rolling down their cheeks. The most striking and emotional side was that of Cuore di Drago and Billy Boy, hugging each other and crying of joy like babies.
Then, all the Milan players gathered and went to cheer up the Liverpool players in a superbly fair play, gentlemanesque way that is the pedigree of Milan! Then, the Milan Curva singing the You'll Never Walk Alone, dedicated to both their beloved players but also to the super passionate, faithfull fans of Liverpool. While all this was happening, Sheva, Sandro Magno, Clarence and Cuore di Drago all ran towards the Curva and raised Ringho and put him on their shoulders as a hero.
Oh and if you think that Zio Fester's images at Perugia (in 99 after the final whistle of # 16) were crazy, you ain't seen nothing! He almost fell from his seat and onto the lower ranks of the Ataturk stadium . But thanks god that Braida was swift enough to prevent Zio Fester from flying in the Istanbul night!!!
Anyways, the last thing I remember from this beautiful (premonitive ) dream, was that of the players in white, making a round/lap of honour with something the form of a big vase (?) in their hands....FORZA RAGAZZI!!!!
RICONQUISTIAMOLA!!!
Cheers.
