What was the best non-Italian CL winning side of the 90s?

it's so pitty that normal users can't make polls.so I will do it as an open thread.I talk only about the non Italian teams-which was the greatest CL winning team of the 90's?

here is the list of the CL winning sides from that decade(outside Italy):
    RED STAR BELGRAD 1991
    BARCELONA 1992
    MARSEILLE 1993
    AJAX 1995
    DORTMUND 1997
    REAL MADRID 1998
    MANCHESTER UNITED 1999

so,which was the best CL winning side of the 90's,between those I mentioned above?
for me,the best was Ajax 95'.
who were the best for you?

    Definetely Ajax of 95'.

The fact that most players were under 24 years old, says it all.

I still remember that Ajax with van gaal and:
    ----------------------VDR--------------------
    Reiziger------Blind---F. de boer--Bogarde
    --------------Seedorf----Davids-------------
    George Finidi----Litmanen------Overmars-
    --------------------Kluivert/Kanu-----------

bogarde and kluivert were really bad players when they leave Ajax... but that team for me was the best of the 90's, i choose Ajax.

What are you talking about!? Bogarde is the best playa in the business. Getting full amount of his sky-high wages from Chelsea while doing nothing but training with some reserves.

I choose Man Utd by the way. Although their defence doesn't look so good, Schmeichel, Stam, Beckham, Giggs, Scholes & Keane, especially the midfield quarter, were on their absolute prime and they were truly the textbook definitions of a flat 4-men midfield. Not to mention that Yorke & Cole formed a lethal partnership upfront.

Ajax since they beaten Patathinaikos(my team) in Greece 3-0 in the semis after we had beaten them 1-0 in Amsterdam. And all of their players are still playing, except Blind and Finidi

I have to disagree with those who have picked Manchester Utd. They were not the best of their competition. Not that all teams that win are better than the other team but at least there is some evidence of being good! ManUtd was not the top team of that tournament, therefore IMO cannot be the best of a decade!

Definitely Ajax. If you guys saw them play, you'll say the same. Do not base your opinion just on the line up. Manure was nowhere near Ajax.

    Alright old man. :p

But yeah, most of us are too young for such a poll. Ask us again in 5 years time about the 00s winner and then I can give a subjective answer. :p

Well I saw their second leg quarters game, both semis(they were against my team ) and the final. From all I remember, people were talking about the new world's best players... Too bad for Ajax they cannot do that again nowadays. They only have a few now, not one or two in each position (and this comes from a PSV fan )

Just wait some time and you'll see.

    They create talents all right:
    Sneijder
    Van der Meyde
    Van der Vaart
    Ibrahmovic(not really but ok)
    Chivu(same case here)
    Pasanen
    Stekelenburg
    Pienaar
Trabelsi & Maxwell are two very good full-backs
    Babel
    de Jong
de Rieter(something like this, winger )
    Heitinga

And some others maybe... They were cheated out of the CL from Milan when we lost in away goals after that But they had better chances, and didn't use them. Now most of them are gone...

I think these guys were from Ajax's academy.
    It's a shame they left..

Great job Alex, I am surprised you still remember them.

By far, they were the best of the 90's. And like someone said, most of them were in their early-mid 20's at that time. But they really ruled, that job against Milan in 95 with Rijkaard was special.

Too bad the stupid management did a stupid thing and broke the team up.

P.S: It was VDS in goal, wasn't it?

I'm a bit biased here...but to me it were Cruyff's Barca and of course Olympique Marseille.

Looking back they had an excellent team:

    -Barthez-
    -Angloma-Sauzee-Boli-
    -Di Meco-deschamps-desailly-eydelie
    ---Boksic-Pele-Voeller-

Ajax was great too though...so young and so good! Likewise red star belgrade!
