    International Friendly

This is the thread where we discuss all the friendlies matches that are being played in europe & all around the world, except for italy's, since we have a seperate thread for that. LOLZ

About today's game, Surprise Surprsie Adraino manged to score for Brazil once again, but I guess it dosent mean much when your team win 8-0 against an opposition like UAE, and he only manges to score a single goal and that too from the penalty spot.

The most pathetic and unjustified result of the day, was England beating Argntina, WHY WHY does luck & Refree favour England so much , Firstly Crespo gets a perfectly good goal ruled out, and then england some how agaisnt the run of play manage to get 2 goals in last 4 minutes to win the game . Samuel scored the second goal for Argentina, AlCapitino played the full 90 min, and was very good, Cambiasso also started and then Cruz (finally) made his appearance, after I dont know how long, for Argentina in final 10 minutes. For Most parts of this game, you could see Argentina kept on hammering England.

France and Germany played a boring 0-0 draw with each other, and Portugal kept on shoing that they are a force to be reckon with, as they pushed aside a good croatian side 2-0

Actually I was analysing the game with my tinted glasses off, unlike your media. Now all I will hear until the next 3 months (or whenever english team has its next friendly), that England are the Best team in the world , and that England will win the WC.

    Great post Shahz!

Well done to England for not giving up but to say that was a deserved victory would be very unfair to what looks to be a class Argentina side.

    I love it!!
Now England beat Argentina, the English media think they're gonna win the WC.
But I don't have to talk about the game, anyone who saw it knows how badly they were getting raped.
Some of the decisions, :lol. Crespo's goal, Cruz's penalty appeal, random fouls by the English on Riquelme (any other ref, would've produced yellows left, right and centre)
Congrats to England. One thing that they do have (only thing) is their spirit. They will never give up.
But watching this game, honestly, I was quitely worried about England, but not anymore, a almost second based Argentine team dominated them.

Loved what Pekerman said after the match, nice but lethal. When asked would you have done anything different if it was a WC match, to which Pek replied
" Ofcourse, in a WC every players mentality changes, plus I would've played my first team (Lucho, Gonzalo, Heinze, Mascherano, Aimar) and not taken off Riquelme or Ayala"

Plus I'm more interested in Australia. This was meaningless.

That's up to you, just be careful how much you bet on Argentina, they seem to be the favourite again, as they were in 2002, when they did so well

    Carnt!!
    Good comeback.
We're not favourites, Brasil is...so we'll do well this time ( I hope)

But seriously, Sven once again almost fucked it up for England.
Playing Ledley King as a defensive midfielder, man-marking Riquelme...?? I saw that and I spat out my coffee.
Trying to man-mark Riquelme is stupid enough, but why waste King and play him in a position he has never played before. You want dms? look at Parker.

Catanha, King played in that position during England's last game and did well. Against Poland, if I remember correctly. However, King himself admitted that he's not used to that position.

My view on the game, from an Interista point of view, is very worrying. Javier Zanetti & Walter Samuel were at fault in all of England's goals. Samuel was clashing with Ayala for England's first goal. Javier Zanetti was ballwatching when Owen headed Gerrard's cross at the far post. And, Javier Zanetti was nowhere to be seen when Joe Cole made the cross from the left plus Samuel, albeit being held perhaps illegally by Crouch, failed to mark Owen. Other than those incidents though, I feel that J.Zanetti, Samuel & Cambiasso played a good game.

Now on the match itself, I really think that Argentina was extremely unlucky not to win the match. Juan Pablo Sorin missed an absolute sitter that my 10-year-old brother would have buried easily. Cruz's penalty appeal wasn't even considered by the ref and even the British-horny TV coverage didn't give it a replay at all! Although the results matter most, in terms of performance, I would be happier if I'm an Argentina fan. Speaking of Riquelme though, I was very unimpressed by him. Sure, he's one heck of a playmaker but he's extremely lazy and wants the whole team to work for him. Demichelis also didn't play too well, although perhaps Lucho Gonzales or Javier Mascherano will take that spot in the World Cup.

One beef that I have in the match: I would have loved to see Leo Messi on the pitch and finally show the world that he is going to make the impact Pele had in WC 1958, not Rooney.

Messi needs time, but I agree with you, I have about half a dozen cracks in my remote control, due to Pek not bringing Messi on. Rooney is a genius, but the way Messi has started, Rooney has nothing but bad temperment, love for grannies and pure uglyness on Messi.

The thing with Riquelme is that usually, he didn't have his usual partners with him.
Usually Lucho and Mascherano along with Cambiasso do a lot of work for him, especially Mascherano and Lucho, which gives Riquelme the free space he needs. He had Demichellis today, who is a pure defensive mid or centre back.

Thought Messi had been instructed not to play or something.

Sorry but at anyone who thinks our real media is going crazy, no offence guys but anybody who takes reports from the sun anything more than lightly needs to take a good search & find the other half of their brain

The media that are actually worth listening to over here have pretty much said stuff on the lines of England have stepped up their performance from previous matches, Crespo's goal should have been allowed, etc etc..

& now Wayne Bridge is gona get the biggest ass-raping off his life from them.

But then apparently we now believe we can win the world cup, I don't, quarters or semis at best unless we can sort out our freakin defence, which would mean us finding a decent RB & Terry actually playing well for England for once
    Aint gona happen

Messi wasn't allowed to play because of being sent off in the Hungary game..that's why.

It was a good game and england was fairly lucky.
Let's wait for the world cup. the way I see Sven, it should be another quarterfinal-1-0-up-2-1-down-classic by Sven.

Han I dont agree with you on Samuel..I think he had a really good game and carried them at the back.I thought it was Demichelis who was the worst at the back and because of him England achieved their chances.

Overall, I think Samuel did well but I just pointed out that both of the goals, especially the first, was caused because of his fault. The most worrying incident though was how Javier Zanetti was caught ball-watching as he allowed Owen free movement on the box to head in the equaliser.
